Jamie Erdahl ranks Broncos as a top-5 team in the AFC

NFL Network’s Jamie Erdahl ranked the Bills, Steelers, Chiefs, Ravens and Broncos as the top-five teams in the AFC.

The Denver Broncos have been hot in recent weeks and NFL Network’s Jamie Erdahl is buying into the hype.

Erdahl recently ranked the Broncos as the fifth-best team in the AFC.

“I like Sean Payton, I’m getting on the Peter Schrager Sean Payton bandwagon,” Erdahl said on Good Morning Football earlier this week. “I think it’s very dangerous when you have a coach come in, the second year into the system, he has created a culture and a dynamic … he got his quarterback, [and they have a] really good defense.”

Erdahl has the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Broncos ranked as the top teams in the conference.

Erdahl ranked Denver above teams including the Los Angeles Chargers (7-3) and Houston Texans (7-4). Right now, both those teams sit above the Broncos in the AFC’s playoff picture.

Fans in Denver will hope that Erdahl’s rankings prove to be accurate at the end of the season.

Brian Baldinger breaks down film of key Broncos players vs. Falcons

Brian Baldinger breaks down key plays involving Bo Nix, Garett Bolles, Pat Surtain and Ja’Quan McMillian from Sunday’s big win.

Following the Denver Broncos‘ big win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11, NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger took to Twitter/X to break down some of the key performances from the 38-6 victory.

First up is Baldinger reacting to quarterback Bo Nix leading a pair of scoring drives in the third quarter.

“This throw right here to Devaughn Vele is just a dime … the throw is perfect,” Baldinger said of Nix’s strike.

Baldinger also broke down left tackle Garett Bolles’ impressive blocking.

“Bolles was 10-for-10 on his assignments on this opening drive,” Baldinger said.

The defense wasn’t overlooked.

“Pound-for-pound, this Ja’Quan McMillian is as good as any football player in this league,” Baldinger exclaimed.

Broncos star cornerback Pat Surtain also received love from the NFL Network pundit:

Former cornerback Chris Harris chimed in on Twitter/X to say Surtain and McMillian both deserve All-Pro nods in 2024.

Up next for the Broncos is a road game against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12.

NFL Network analyst breaks down Patrick Queen’s performance in Week 10

Patrick Queen’s dominant Week 10 performance, highlighted by Brian Baldinger, showcased his elite skills and playmaking ability.

The Patrick Queen redemption tour seemingly started to take shape in the Steelers’ Week 10 contest against the Washington Commanders.

While the Steelers’ initial acquisition of Queen this past offseason was met with excitement from fans and players alike, his performance through the first eight weeks of the season had been inconsistent, to say the least.

However, Queen’s elite Week 10 performance caught the attention of fans and analysts alike, as NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger, host of Baldy’s Breakdowns, highlighted what made Queen so special against Washington on Sunday.

Wherever the ball went, more often than not, Queen was following. His speed and spectacular tackling ability were evident on several key tackles on Washington’s QB Jayden Daniels, WR Terry McLaurin, and RB Austin Ekeler.

Queen’s play recognition will surely be of great use in the team’s Week 11 contest against the Baltimore Ravens, where the Steelers will need every physical and mental ability sharply tuned to stop his former teammate, QB Lamar Jackson, from taking over the game.

Baldy’s Breakdowns: Aaron Rodgers just trusted Jets’ Garrett Wilson (video)

Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson scored a pair of one-handed catches against the Texans.

NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger did not overthink those plays.

The Jets won 21-13 in Week 9 and it was pretty simple in Baldinger’s mind.

“He just trusted him,” Baldinger said speaking about quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Baldinger’s breakdown on both scores can be found below:

Peter Schrager dubs Broncos DC Vance Joseph his Coach of the Week

NFL analyst Peter Schrager heaped a ton of praise on Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph following Week 5.

The Denver Broncos have a winning record thus far in the 2024 season, in many aspects due to their stifling defense. And NFL Network analyst Peter Schrager has taken notice of the elite group.

“I give out a coach of the week award every week. It could be a head coach, a special teams person, it could be an assistant coach at any level, and I am so excited to give Vance Joseph the award for coach of the week this week,” Schrager said on Good Morning Football this week.

“The Denver Broncos defense is the best in the league, and they were rocking those Orange Crush uniforms and they absolutely dominated the Raiders.”

Schrager went on to praise the Broncos’ defense for their success across the 2024 season.

“Looking at this unit this season, they are allowing 14 points per game this season. That’s good for second in the league,” Schrager said. “They have 19 sacks, 75 quarterback pressures and 41 quarterback hits, all good for top three in the league entering Monday Night Football.”

Later on in his segment, Schrager lauded the humility of the defensive coordinator.

“Vance, personally, the story is so cool. He was the head coach of the Broncos, got unceremoniously fired, worked elsewhere, got the job with Sean Payton to be defensive coordinator, has no ego, says ‘Sure, I’ll be defensive coordinator.’ They give up 70 in a game to the Dolphins last season, and everybody says ‘Get rid of Vance Joseph!’

“They have since been one of the most dominant units in the league [since then]. Vance Joseph, love the focus, love the way this team is performing and we love the fact that your story tells you that you do not shut the door on a guy who’s done it his entire career.”

Well-deserved praise for Joseph and Denver’s defense.

NFL Network experts going for the Steelers over the Colts

NFL Network is leaning in hard on the Steelers getting the road win this week.

Week Four of the NFL regular season is upon us and the Pittsburgh Steelers are a surprising 3-0. This has been in large part due to a smothering defense, the best in the NFL, and a conservative offense that hasn’t made mistakes.

This week the Steelers travel to take on an Indianapolis Colts (1-2) that got their first win of the season last week against the Chicago Bears. The Colts are still a work in progress but have some dangerous weapons on offense NFL Network did a full preview of the game and offered up their expert picks.

Of the 10 NFL Network picks, only Kevin Patra calls for the Colts to upset the Steelers at home.

The Steelers got to 3-0 by defeating the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons.

NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt crowns Baltimore Ravens Derrick Henry as the Week 3 angry runs winner

The Ravens dominated the Cowboys for three and a half quarters of football on Sunday, buoyed by Derrick Henry’s breakout game in Baltimore.

The All-World running back had several massive runs, physically imposing his will on a Dallas defense that surrendered four touchdowns to Alvin Kamara in Week 2. Good Morning Football’s Kyle Brandt crowns a winner of his Angry Runs award on NFL Network each Tuesday morning during the regular season, and Henry nabbed the prize for dominance in Texas.

After playing in front of family and friends, the Dallas resident made a statement against the team that didn’t offer him a contract, controlling the game early on his way to 25 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Baldy’s breakdowns: Jets’ Leonard Taylor III gets shouted out for Patriots sack

Baldy’s breakdowns: Jets’ Leonard Taylor III gets shouted out for Patriots sack:

A surprising New York Jets defender got a shoutout following the team’s 24-3 throttling of the New England Patriots.

The Jets (2-1) defense had a huge effort. Seven total sacks, doubling their season total in one game.

While Will McDonald IV took headlines for the second-straight game with another multi-sack outing, it was not him who got a shout out from NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger.

During his social media “Baldy’s breakdowns,” it was Leonard Taylor III who did. Taylor had a takedown late against Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye when the game was essentially over.

“There’s something there,” Baldinger said about Taylor.

The full breakdown can be found below:

NFL Network analyst roundtable compliments Jets fans vs. Patriots

NFL Network analyst roundtable compliments Jets fans vs. Patriots

NFL Network analyst Peter Schrager took in the New York Jets’ 24-3 win over the New England Patriots live and in person.

The “Good Morning Football” host was at MetLife Stadium for Week 3’s “Thursday Night Football” clash.

Schrager was impressed with the Jets on the field, quarterback Aaron Rodgers specifically.

He was equally fired up for the fans.

Schrager noted how it felt like it was the first time in a long time it felt like those people in the stands wearing green and white were able to enjoy a game, wire-to-wire. Hard to argue with that.
