NFL Highlights: Kyle Hamilton’s Pro Bowl Interception

Putting the bow on a memorable 2023 season for a Notre Dame great

Former Notre Dame All-American safety [autotag]Kyle Hamilton[/autotag] had a massive showing for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.  The 2022 first round draft pick earned All-Pro status and was selected to his first Pro Bowl.

In that Pro Bowl that was played on the first Sunday of February, Hamilton made a huge play in trying to set up an AFC comeback.  With the NFC leading 64-59 with just over three minutes to go it looked like they were about to score to essentially put an end to the contest.

Instead, Hamilton took advantage of a tipped pass and put the AFC in position to win the game.  Check it out below:

The AFC got deep into NFC territory but was ultimately stopped on fourth and goal.

Hamilton had four interceptions on the year, including a pick-six which was the first of his NFL career.

WATCH: Rachaad White punches in first score of Week 13 game vs. Panthers

Check out Tampa Bay’s first touchdown of the game against the Carolina Panthers:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got the cannons firing early on Sunday.

The team marched down the field on its second drive, and it got in striking distance of the red zone when wide receiver Mike Evans caught a 40-yard pass. That pass got Evans within 105 yards of his 1,000-yard season, and Tampa Bay made sure to capitalize. Evans had pass interference committed against him the next play, and when that brought the team to the one-yard line, running back Rachaad White took it across the goal line for a score and a 7-0 lead.

Everyone loved Quinn Meinerz’s blocking on ‘Monday Night Football’

Broncos guard Quinn Meinerz is a beast! 😤

Quinn Meinerz remains a fan favorite.

The 24-year-old guard played college football at Wisconsin-Whitewater, a Division III program, and his fantastic college film, impressive performance at the Senior Bowl and unique outdoor workout videos caught the attention of NFL teams in 2021.

Denver used a third-round pick to select Meinerz in the NFL draft three years ago and he quickly emerged as a fan favorite after “letting the belly breathe” at practice. Meinerz is much more than a meme, though. He is emerging as one of the best guards in the NFL, and a Pro Bowl nod could be within reach this season.

Twitter gushed with praise for Meinerz after his impressive performance against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 10.

Chargers vs. Browns first-half highlights

Get caught up with all the action from the Chargers vs. Browns after two quarters of play.

The Chargers trail the Browns at the half, 21-17.

Here are all of Los Angeles’ notable highlights from the first two quarters.

Down 14-0, the Chargers needed a spark. After a kickoff went through the back of the end zone, Los Angeles started from their own 25. But on first down, Ekeler found a hole, burst through it, and took it 71 yards to the Cleveland 4.

With a first down from their own 44, Joe Lombardi decided to dial up a deep shot. Justin Herbert launched his trademark down-the-field throw and Williams boxed out Denzel Ward and made a leaping grab for 38 yards.

Early in the second quarter, Joshua Kelley made his presence known with a five-yard rushing touchdown. Kelley went untouched after great blocking to seal the edge for him.

With the Chargers facing a second and goal, Herbert was under pressure by Myles Garrett and was forced to make a quick throw to avoid taking a hit. Luckily, the play called for a screen to Ekeler, who hauled in the desperation pass with one hand. Ekeler then made a defender miss and got a few blocks to score from 12 yards out.

WATCH: Texas ex Brandon Jones stands out on Monday Night Football

Brandon Jones is making plays on the biggest stage.

Second-year safety Brandon Jones has become a valued weapon for the Miami Dolphins defense.

Jones has a unique ability to pressure the quarterback from his defensive back position, making him one of the more versatile players on the field.

The Miami defense shined yet again on Monday Night Football against the Saints and Jones was a huge part of it.

In the third quarter, Jones brought down rookie quarterback Ian book on a crucial third-down play, keeping the momentum on the Miami side.

The sack marked Jones’ fifth on the season, more than any other defensive back in the NFL this year.

Jones came up big later in the half snagging his first career interception to seal the Miami victory.

With the win on Monday, Jones’ Dolphins improved to 8-7 on the season and currently hold an AFC wildcard spot. A remarkable turnaround after starting the season 1-7.

Many former Longhorns stood out in the NFL in Week 9

From Colt McCoy to Sam Ehlinger, several former Longhorns had a big weekend in the NFL. Take a look at some of their highlights here.

The current Longhorns are struggling, falling short in their fourth straight game on Saturday, but many former players enjoyed success with their respective NFL teams over the weekend.

There are currently 33 lifetime Longhorns on an active NFL roster. It ranks as the 13th most amongst schools in the country.

Starting on Thursday night football, former Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger made his NFL debut for Indianapolis. Ehlinger took the first regular-season snap of his career after spraining his ACL during the preseason.

Colt McCoy started in place of injured Kyler Murray for Arizona on Sunday, proving he is one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league. McCoy carved up the 49ers for 249 yards, one touchdown and a remarkably efficient 85% completion percentage. The Cardinals beat the 49ers 31-17 behind Colt’s stellar performance.

Denver rookie Caden Sterns has been capitalizing on his early playing time for the Broncos. Established quarterbacks are becoming well aware of Sterns’ play. After sacking Lamar Jackson earlier in the season, Sterns picked off Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott this weekend, helping seal a 30-16 victory for Denver.

Alex Okafor came up with a huge blocked field goal for the Chiefs. The block kept Green Bay off the scoreboard early as Kansas City went on to win 13-7.

Devin Duvernay made the best catch of his NFL career on Sunday. He reached back to snag a Lamar Jackson pass with one hand to tie the game in the fourth quarter for Baltimore.

In the same game, the Ravens won 34-31 in overtime on future hall of fame kicker Justin Tucker’s 18th career game-winning field goal.

Here are a few highlights from the former Horns in Week 9:

Highlights from NDSU QB Trey Lance’s second pro day

Three representatives from the Atlanta Falcons were in attendance on Monday to watch North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance throw at his second pro day.

Three representatives from the Atlanta Falcons were in attendance on Monday to watch North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance throw at his second pro day. The team was also present at Lance’s first pro day, but this time sent quarterbacks coach Charles London, passing game specialist T.J. Yates and scouting director Dwaune Jones.

Whether the Falcons actually intend to take a quarterback or are just trying to drive up the price of their No. 4 pick for a potential trade, the team is rightfully doing its due diligence on one of the most intriguing overall prospects in this year’s draft class.

Check out some highlights from Lance’s second pro day below, via the NFL’s Twitter account.

As we examined on Monday, Lance wasn’t initially thought to be in play for the 49ers, who traded up to pick No. 3 a few weeks ago. But the closer we get to draft day, the more it seems like a real possibility he lands in San Francisco.

The Falcons reportedly talked at length with Lance’s coaches and some believe the North Dakota State signal-caller won’t make it out of the top five.

First Half Highlights: Chargers vs. Jets

The Los Angeles Chargers are dominating the New York Jets.

The Chargers lead the Jets by the score of 24-6 at the halfway mark.

Quarterback Justin Herbert is cooking. Herbert has 277 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-31 passing. The rookie has connected with his favorite target, wide receiver Keenan Allen, 10 times for 108 yards.

Herbert’s two touchdown passes went to wide receiver Mike Williams and tight end Hunter Henry.

There’s always at least one beautiful ball by Herbert in each game. That one went to wide receiver Tyron Johnson down the middle of the field for 54 yards.

The defense has limited New York to only 82 yards, which has been led by the performances of linebacker Denzel Perryman, who has a sack and a handful of run stops and cornerback Tevaughn Campbell, who has a interception .

Notre Dame in NFL: Watch Claypool’s two touchdowns for Steelers vs. Bengals

Chase Claypool scored twice on Sunday giving him nine touchdowns already in his NFL rookie season for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Chase Claypool wasted no time bursting onto the scene with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the rookie receiver from Notre Dame was an immediate part of the offense starting in Week 1.

And that high starting point has only grown as the year has gone on for the now 9-0 Steelers after Claypool scored another pair of touchdowns on Sunday in a 36-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The first came with the Steelers leading 22-7 late in the third quarter and pretty much put things out of reach.

Roughly nine minutes later in the action Claypool was found again by Ben Roethlisberger for another score to extend the lead to the eventual final score, 36-10.

Claypool’s two touchdowns give him nine total scores on the year, good for a tie for the third most in the entire NFL as he trails only Dalvin Cook and Tyreek Hill in total touchdowns scored.

Claypool helped Notre Dame win their final six games of the 2019 season and has helped Pittsburgh win their first nine games of 2020.  The last game he played was over a full calendar year ago when the Irish fell in blowout fashion at Michigan in late October.
