First look: New York Giants at New Orleans Saints odds and lines

Looking at New York Giants at New Orleans Saints Week 4 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The New York Giants (0-3) visit the “Big Easy” Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET Week 4 contest against the New Orleans Saints (2-1) at Caesars Superdome. Below, we look at the Giants vs. Saints odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

New York remains winless after losing to the Atlanta Falcons 17-14 as a 2.5-point home favorite in Week 3. The Giants outgained the Falcons on the ground and through the air and were more efficient on third down.

However, New York had to settle for two first-quarter field goals deep in Atlanta territory. QB Daniel Jones failed to score a TD and the Falcons stuck around and won with a field goal from PK Younghoe Koo as time expired.

New Orleans recovered from a one-sided Week 2 loss at the Carolina Panthers to smack around the New England Patriots 28-13 in Week 3 as a 3-point road underdog.

The Saints shut down New England’s ground game, holding them to just 49 yards on 17 carries, and effectively put the game away when scoring on a pick-six off rookie QB Mac Jones at the beginning of the second half.

Technically this is the Saints’ second “home game” but it’ll be their first played in Caesars Superdome after they were relocated in Week 1 due to the devastation of Hurricane Ida.

First look: Indianapolis Colts at Miami Dolphins odds and lines

Looking at Indianapolis Colts at Miami Dolphins Week 4 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Miami Dolphins (1-2) host the Indianapolis Colts (0-3) Sunday in Week 4 at Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Colts vs. Dolphins odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

Indianapolis put up an offensive dud in a 25-16 Week 3 road loss at the Tennessee Titans due in part to Colts QB Carson Wentz playing on two sprained ankles. Wentz suffered the injuries in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams and was questionable to play up until kickoff.

The Colts failed to cover the spread as 4.5-point road underdogs despite being plus-3 in turnover differential. Wentz was 19-for-37 passing for 194 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions against a weak Tennessee defense.

Miami lost in a 31-28 overtime nail-biter at the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3 but covered as a 3.5-point underdog. It was backup QB Jacoby Brissett‘s first start for the Dolphins.

Brissett completed 32 of 49 passes for 215 yards without a TD or INT but did send the game into overtime with a 1-yard TD run in the final seconds of regulation.

Colts at Dolphins head-to-head

The Colts and Dolphins last met in 2019 when Miami went into Indianapolis in Week 10 and upset the Colts 16-12 as 11-point underdogs in Dolphins’ head coach Brian Flores’ first year on the job.

Coincidently, that was the year former Colts QB Andrew Luck abruptly retired and Brissett took over the starting role in Indianapolis. Despite that Brissett started 15 of the 16 regular-season games for Indianapolis the tilt against Miami was his lone absence.

The Raiders claimed a thrilling 33-27 overtime victory against the visiting Baltimore Ravens Monday night. QB Derek Carr connected with WR Zay Jones for a 31-yard touchdown with 3:38 remaining in OT for the game-winner.

Las Vegas cashed as a 3-point underdog and also profited +145 money line bettors. The Under (50.5) looked good after three quarters as the Raiders trailed 17-10, but 27 combined points in the final 9:18 of regulation was a relief to Over backers.

Carr, who engineered three game-tying drives in the fourth quarter, threw for 435 passing yards with 2 TD.

Pittsburgh also won as an underdog in Week 1, stunning the host Buffalo Bills 23-16 Sunday. QB Ben Roethlisberger (188 passing yards, 1 TD) rallied the Steelers from a 10-0 deficit by steering scoring drives on their first four possessions of the second half.

Pittsburgh took the lead for good – at 13-10 – when Roethlisberger hit WR Diontae Johnson for a 5-yard TD pass with 11:19 to go in the fourth quarter. LB Ulysees Gilbert’s defensive touchdown on a 9-yard return of a blocked punt with 9:45 remaining pretty much sealed the victory.

Pittsburgh was a 6.5-point underdog and paid off more than 2-1 on the money line, hitting at +232. The Under (47.5) wasn’t really threatened.

49ers at Eagles head-to-head

The 49ers and Eagles have met just once since 2017.

Philadelphia picked up a 25-20 victory as an 8.5-point road underdog in Week 4 last season while the total stayed 1 point Under the number.

However, there has been significant changes to both rosters since that game as Garoppolo was sidelined for the 49ers in last season’s meeting and then-Eagles QB Carson Wentz has left.

Rams at Colts head-to-head

Being in different conferences, the Rams and Colts don’t square off very often. They play just once every four years, with their most recent meeting coming in 2017. That was Sean McVay’s first game as head coach of the Rams, a blowout 46-9 victory by Los Angeles at home.

The Rams also beat the Colts 38-8 in 2013 when they were still residing in St. Louis and were led by QB Kellen Clemens and his 247 yards with 2 touchdowns. The matchup before that came in 2009, a 42-6 win by the Colts on the road.

So in the last three meetings, the average margin of victory has been 34.3 points. The favorite is 2-1 in the last three meetings between these two teams and the total went to the Over three times.
