First look: Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Philadelphia Eagles (6-1) take on the Washington Commanders (3-4) at Fed EX Field Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Eagles vs. Commanders odds from FanDuel Sportsbook. Also see: SportsbookWire’s NFL picks and predictions.

After defeating the Miami Dolphins 31-17 as 3-point home favorites Sunday night, the Eagles will look to win their 2nd game in a row and 2nd game in 4 weeks. QB Jalen Hurts threw for 279 yards with 2 TDs with 1 interception and ran for 21 yards and 1 score vs. Miami. Hurts did tweak his knee in the 1st half and wore a brace in the 2nd half, but he stated postgame that he would be healthy and ready to go against Washington.

The Commanders lost 14-7 as 3-point road favorites to the New York Giants in an NFC East matchup Sunday. Washington, now 0-2 in the division, was held to 273 total yards, including 76 rushing, and were 1 of 15 on 3rd-down conversions. Washington really needs to stack up some wins to remain relevant for playoff contention.

First look: Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Miami Dolphins (5-1) and the Philadelphia Eagles (5-1) hook up for the Week 7 Sunday night game at 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Below, we look at Dolphins vs. Eagles odds from FanDuel Sportsbook. Also see: SportsbookWire’s NFL picks and predictions.

While the Dolphins come into Philadelphia off a 42-21 home win as 14-point favorites against the Carolina Panthers, the Eagles just lost their 1st game of the season, falling at the New York Jets 20-14 . The loss by the Eagles — as 6.5-point favorites — was not only their 1st loss, it was the 1st time in franchise history that they lost to the Jets. Philly had been 12-0 in the all-time series before Sunday’s defeat.

Miami leads the NFL in offense at 498.7 yards per game behind a balanced attack. The Dolphins are 1st in rushing (181.8 YPG) and 1st in passing (316.8 YPG).

This will bode well for Miami as it will need to rely on the pass game against a Philly defense that ranks 2nd in the NFL against the run, allowing 65.8 YPG.

The pass defense for the Eagles has been less than good, ranking 20th at 232.2 YPG allowed. Plus, injuries to CBs Avonte Maddox and Darius Slay will hinder Eagles’ ability to cover the likes of Dolphins WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

A victory — in this battle of the top teams in each conference — would be a large step in the right direction for either club.

Dolphins vs. Eagles head-to-head

Miami leads the all-time series 9-6. Outside the normal 4-year NFL rotation, these teams haven’t played much.

The Dolphins took the last 2 meetings — both as underdogs. Miami won 37-31 as a 10.5-point home dog in 2019, and eked out a 20-19 road victory as 5.5-point dogs in 2015.

Prior to those 2 Miami victories, Philly had won 4 of the 5 between 1996-2001.

While both teams have been able to put up points this season — they’re a combined 7-5 to the Over — the Under is 3-1 in the last 4 head-to-head tilts.

Both the Eagles and Jets won Sunday in Week 5. The Eagles won as 4-point favorites at Los Angeles Rams 23-14, while the Jets prevailed as 2.5-point underdogs at the Denver Broncos 31-21.

The Eagles game cashed Under (50) tickets — Philly has alternated Over/Unders the last 4 games. The Jets-Broncos went Over (42) — New York is 3-2 Over on the season, including Overs in the last 2 results.

The Jets will look to get back into the AFC East race — they’re 2 games behind the front-running Miami Dolphins (4-1).

The Eagles will look to remain perfect. They are 1 of 2 undefeated teams in the league, joined by the San Francisco 49ers.

The Rams return home after defeating the Indianapolis Colts 29-23 as 1-point favorites in Week 4. QB Matthew Stafford confirmed after the game that he was dealing with a hip injury but stated he expects to be available to face Philadelphia. WR Cooper Kupp is eligible to return this week after starting the season on the IR. This game could be entirely different than we’ve seen for the first 4 weeks for Los Angeles if he’s able to suit up.

The Eagles managed a 34-31 overtime victory vs. the Washington Commanders Sunday, failing to cover as 8.5-point favorites. Washington was able to march downfield repeatedly as the defense was dealing with injuries throughout the game and the status of numerous players will need to be monitored throughout the week.

After coming back from deficits to beat the Arizona Cardinals 20-16 and the Denver Broncos 35-33 in the opening 2 weeks, a home game in Week 3 against its 1st true competition of the season resulted in a 37-3 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The only points came on a 4th-quarter FG as QB Josh Allen and the Bills offense moved down the field at will against the Commanders.

The Philadelphia Eagles came out and dominated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 25-11 on Monday Night Football. The defense was once again dominant and QB Jalen Hurts, despite playing with flu like symptoms, managed another rushing TD.

The Eagles picked up a 31-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings as 6-point favorites on Thursday Night Football in Week 2. That was a slight improvement after a mediocre showing against the New England Patriots in Week 1.

The Buccaneers returned home for a Week 1 victory against the Vikings to topple the Chicago Bears 27-17 as 1-point favorites. WR Mike Evans snagged 171 yards and a touchdown on 6 receptions as QB Baker Mayfield went for 317 yards and a touchdown through the air while adding 17 yards on 6 carries.

Tampa Bay holds an 11-10 edge in the all-time series but has lost 3 of 5 postseason meetings.

The Bucs recorded a 31-15 victory as 7.5-point favorites while the Under (47.5) cashed in an NFC Wild Card matchup on Jan. 16, 2022, when these teams last met. That victory was former QB Tom Brady’s last postseason win.

The Minnesota Vikings (0-1) visit the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) for Thursday Night Football in Week 2 NFL action. Kickoff from Lincoln Financial Field is at 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video). Below, we look at Vikings vs. Eagles odds from FanDuel Sportsbook. Also see: SportsbookWire’s NFL picks and predictions.

Minnesota opened the season witha  20-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, losing outright as a 4-point favorite while the Under (45) cashed. That wasn’t the start the Vikings were hoping for after their 2022 campaign finished with a 1st-round playoff defeat the New York Giants despite wrapping up the regular season 13-4.

Philadelphia barely hung on for a 25-20 victory at the New England Patriots in Week 1. The Eagles came out strong, scoring 16 points in the 1st quarter before a roller-coaster finish over the final 3 frames. There should be a lot of fanfare for the 2023 NFC champs in their home opener, but they need to get things figured on offense if they want to remain competitive within the conference.

First look: Philadelphia Eagles at New England Patriots odds and lines

Looking at Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles at New England Patriots Week 1 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Philadelphia Eagles start what they hope is another Super Bowl run when they face the New England Patriots on Sunday in Week 1 NFL action. Kickoff from Gillette Stadium is at 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Eagles vs. Patriots odds from FanDuel Sportsbook. Also see: SportsbookWire’s NFL picks and predictions.

Patriots QB Mac Jones will look to rebound in 2023 under offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien after a lost season under makeshift OCs Joe Judge and Matt Patricia. While Jones will have a litany of new receivers, including Juju Smith-Shuster, it will still be up to Jones and O’Brien as to how far this team can go.

New England is being picked to finish a distant 4th in the AFC East to start the season, which probably does not bode well against a Philadelphia team that is favored to win not just the NFC East, but the entirety of the NFC.

The Eagles players remained intact for the most part in the offseason, although some changes are in place in the coaching staff. Fans were not sad to see former defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon leave to be the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals and while the Eagles loved offensive coordinator Shane Steichen (who left to become the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts) they are extremely excited about Brian Johnson taking over the role after 2 seasons as the quarterbacks coach.

If QB Jalen Hurts can continue to move the ball with his feet — he put up 760 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs in 2022 — this will again be the best team in the NFC and will be the conference representative in the Super Bowl.

Eagles vs. Patriots head-to-head

The Eagles and Patriots have only played once since Philadelphia beat New England 41-33 at Super Bowl LII, and that was when the Patriots picked up a 17-10 road victory as 4.5-point favorites in 2019.

This will be a barometer game for both the Patriots and the Eagles. Has Bill Belichick lost his magic touch? Was the last season of Hurts just a blip? Both questions will look to start getting answered on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

Super Bowl 57 first look: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles odds and lines

Looking at Super Bowl 57’s Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Kansas City Chiefs (16-3) and Philadelphia Eagles (16-3) will face off in Super Bowl LVII Sunday, Feb 12. at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Chiefs vs. Eagles odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

The Chiefs squeaked past the Cincinnati Bengals by a 23-20 count in the AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs, who covered the spread as 2-point home favorites, went 1-1 against the spread (ATS) in their 2 playoff games, while cashing the Under in both.

Kansas City went 5-0 straight up (SU) and 4-1 ATS in its 5 games against NFC opponents during the regular season, while the Over was 3-2 (Source for closing lines: Covers.com).

The Chiefs return to the Super Bowl for the 3rd time in the past 4 seasons. Kansas City was blasted 31-9 by Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium in the COVID season, a year after beating the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 at Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida Feb. 2, 2020 when QB Patrick Mahomes was named the game’s MVP.

The Eagles advanced to this Super Bowl by dominating the San Francisco 49ers 31-7 in the NFC title game. Philly, which easily covered as 2.5-point home favorites, outscored its 2 playoff opponents 69-14, cashing the Under in each showing.

Philadelphia managed a 5-0 SU mark in 5 games against AFC teams during the regular season, while going 3-2 ATS. The Over was 4-1 in those outings.

The Eagles are back in the big game for the first time since winning Super Bowl LII, a 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots in Minneapolis in 2018.

The Eagles are 1-2 all time in Super Bowl games, while the Chiefs are 2-2.

Chiefs vs. Eagles head-to-head

These teams have never met in a Super Bowl. It will be a highly anticipated game with Chiefs TE Travis Kelce facing his brother, Eagles C Jason Kelce. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid also gets to face his former team in the big game, too.

These teams last met in Week 4 of the 2021 regular season with the Chiefs topping the Eagles 42-30 at Lincoln Financial Field. Kansas City covered as 7.5-point favorites and the (high) Over of 53.5 easily cashed.

Kansas City has won and covered the past 3 meetings, dating back to 2013. Philadelphia’s last win in the series was a 34-14 decision at home in Week 3 of the 2009 season.

The QBs in that 2009 game? Philly’s Kevin Kolb and Kansas City’s Matt Cassel, so it’s been a while since the Eagles beat the Chiefs. When that game was played, Mahomes was 14 years old, and Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was 11.
