The Eagles significantly bolstered their linebacker corps after agreeing to a one-year, $5 million deal with former Chargers middle linebacker Kyzir White.

A former safety who has turned into one of the NFL’s leading tacklers at the linebacker position, White gives Jonathan Gannon a versatile and athletic playmaker at linebacker that’ll help slow down some of the more elite passers in the NFL.

Last season, White had 144 tackles, a sack, two interceptions, and four quarterback hits for the Los Angeles Chargers, and he along with Haason Reddick, has provided Philadelphia with some juice on defense.

Here are five things to know about the former West Virginia safety.

Full seven-round #Philadelphia #Eagles mock draft: Post-1st Wave of #NFL Free Agency Edition

The NFL’s official league year has begun and the quest for a Super Bowl in 2022 is underway for all 32 NFL teams.

The Eagles just completed the first week of an intriguing offseason that started off strong with free agency,  features three-first round picks, valuable salary-cap space, and several different routes the franchise can choose to follow.

With Jalen Hurts as the quarterback for at least the next calendar year, Philadelphia has chosen to build around the quarterback, and they still could push a first-round pick back to 2023 where the quarterback class will be much more talented.

It’ll be an interesting lead-up to April’s NFL draft and we’re adding to the fun with our fourth full seven-round mock draft 4.0, this time, after the first wave of free agency.

In this seven-round mock draft using Pro Football Network’s mock draft simulator, we again avoided making any trades in this version, choosing to fully restock a roster that has holes on both sides of the ball, utilizing seven of the 10 picks on high-profile and highly versatile defensive players.

4 takeaways from Jason Kelce announcing his return to the Eagles in 2022

4 takeaways from #NFL All-Pro center Jason #Kelce announcing his return to the #Philadelphia #Eagles in 2022

The Eagles’ had one of their biggest offseason questions answered on Thursday night when All-Pro center Jason Kelce announced that he’s returning for the 2022 season.

“I’m definitely not retiring from playing for the Philadelphia Eagles,” Kelce said in a hilarious announcement video on social media. “I’m having way too much fun doing that. I’m looking forward to another year, in Philadelphia. And to all my teammates, let’s go dominate.”

Originally selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Cincinnati, the now 12-year veteran just earned All-Pro honors for the fourth time and Pro Bowl accolades for the fifth time in his Hall of Fame-worthy career.

With Kelce back in the fold, here are four takeaways from the move.

Should the Eagles have interest in LB Bobby Wagner after being released by Seahawks?

Should the #Philadelphia #Eagles have interest in LB Bobby #Wagner after being released by the #Seattle #Seahawks? #NFL #NFLFreeAgency

Bobby Wagner, the All-Pro linebacker, was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday after a dominating 10-year run.

The question certainly can be asked how Wagner could fit in Philadelphia to help bolster depth at the linebacker position.   What the Eagles will do at the linebacker position remains to be addressed, but the team could look to bolster the roster with a more dynamic player at the position.

An eight-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection, Wagner is still an elite player, logging 170 total tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception.

If the Eagles were able to land Wagner, they’d have the All-Pro and T.J. Edwards at the position, along with three first-round picks in the upcoming NFL draft that’ll help bolster the pass rush and secondary.

Philadelphia struggles mightily against the pass and Wagner would immediately solve that issue against opposing tight ends and running backs.

The former 2012 draft pick, who is now a free agent, will cost Philadelphia some cash if they want to bank on Seattle’s all-time tackles leader.

NFL Draft news: Eagles WR coach gets up-close look at Treylon Burks during Arkansas’s pro day

#NFLDraft2022 news: #Philadelphia #Eagles WR coach gets up-close look at #TreylonBurks during #Arkansas’s pro day

The Eagles are quietly pumping Quez Watkins as their No. 2 wideout going forward, but many in league circles believe Howie Roseman will add another wide receiver to the roster via the NFL draft.

One prospect that has been mocked to Philadelphia for weeks is Arkansas wide receiver, Treylon Burks. A fast, physical wide receiver that patterns his game after Deebo Samuels, Burks had a formal meeting with the Eagles at the NFL Combine and wide receivers coach Aaron Moorehead was among those leading the charge at the pro day for Arkansas.

Burks would definitely give Jalen Hurts a different kind of receiver who is big and physical (6-foot-3, 225 pounds), while also complementing DeVonta Smith on the outside, or in the slot when Philadelphia gets inside the 20-yard line.

7 slot receivers the Eagles could target in NFL free agency

With the new league year and tampering period just days away, here are 7 slot wide receivers the #Philadelphia #Eagles could target in 2022 #NFL free agency

The Eagles are just days from the start of the 2022 NFL offseason, and they’ll enter free agency and draft preparation with some offensive continuity and a need for an upgrade at the wide receiver position.

DeVonta Smith established himself as a true No. 1 wide receiver, while Quez Watkins showed that he can be a valuable complementary piece that the Eagles are super high on.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (2019) and Jalen Reagor (2020) have left a lot to be desired and Philadelphia now has the conundrum of needing to add another playmaker to the position.

Jeff McLane of The Inquirer believes that Roseman and Eagles brass will target a slot wideout in free agency.

If Howie Roseman prefers to not spend a first-round pick on the position for a third straight year, we’ve highlighted seven veteran wide receivers that the Eagles could pair with DeVonta Smith to really take Jalen Hurts to the next level as a passer.

#Philadelphia #Eagles legendary center Jason #Kelce discusses his future on #94WIP and says he’s #Trending in a certain direction

Lost in the shuffle of NFL draft and combine news, is the looming decisions Jason Kelce will make on his playing future. An All-Pro and future Hall of Famer, Kelce has been playing one year at a time since the Eagles Super Bowl season and this offseason he’s closer than ever to stepping away.

Philadelphia coaches and players have been putting on a full-court press with the hopes that Kelce will return and on Wednesday, he addressed his future while guest-hosting the 94WIP Morning Show.

“Fair question. I’ll answer it like this. I’ve answered it like this in the past. I’m playing until I’m not. I’m an active player for the Philadelphia Eagles right now. I love my teammates, I love playing in the city. When it’s time to step away, I’ll make that abundantly clear.”

“I don’t want to announce anything on the radio. I kind of feel like everything is trending in a certain direction but I’m going to make that clear to my teammates and coaches and everything like that first. I will not be announcing that today.”

Kelce and the Eagles will need to agree on a new deal before a June deadline that would pay the center $30 million if a decision isn’t made on his future.
