Transfer portal season is about to heat up for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
According to a report from Zack Carpenter of Inside Nebraska of the Rivals network, the Huskers will host Ohio State transfer quarterback Kyle McCord and wide receiver Julian Fleming on visits this upcoming week.
McCord’s name is not new this portal season for the Huskers. It was reported last week. The two sides have been reportedly in contact since the portal opened on Monday, and the Huskers officially extended an offer to the New Jersey native recently. The Huskers are considered the general favorite to land the former Ohio State quarterback.
The former highly-touted prospect out of St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, just finished his first season as Ohio State’s starting quarterback. In 12 games, McCord completed 65.8% of his passing attempts for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns to eight interceptions. For his career, he has posted a 66.5% completion percentage for 3,776 yards, 27 touchdowns, and eight interceptions,
Fleming’s name has been discussed in rumors, but Sunday’s report from Inside Nebraska is the first time the former five-star’s name has been concretely connected to the Huskers. Also involved with Fleming is Penn State, located less than two hours from Fleming’s hometown in Pennsylvania.
Fleming battled some injuries at Ohio State early in his career but has played in 23 games over the last two seasons. Over four years with Ohio State, Fleming recorded 79 receptions for 963 yards and seven touchdowns.
