Texas wide receiver Isaiah Neyor commits to Nebraska

The Huskers received another big addition to their team in the offseason, this time coming from the transfer portal.

The Huskers received another significant addition to their team in the offseason, this time coming from the transfer portal. Texas wide receiver Isaiah Neyor announced on Twitter late Friday night that he is committed to Nebraska after spending two seasons with the Longhorns.

The 6-foot-3 wide receiver transfers from Texas with two years of eligibility left and is coming to Lincoln with a solid resume. However, his time with the Longhorns resulted in minimal action for the Fort Worth, Texas, getting just one catch for 14 yards.

But before Texas, Neyor made a name for himself at Wyoming. In three seasons with the Cowboys, Neyor hauled in 52 catches for 1,126 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Neyor came out of high school as a two-star wide receiver and will be the second Texas wide receiver to transfer to Nebraska in the past three years, joining former Husker Marcus Washington.

Neyor is also just the second player to commit to Nebraska from the transfer portal this offseason, the first being cornerback Blye Hill from Saint Francis University.

Every quarterback target in the transfer portal

Nebraska’s coaching staff has been aggressive in the transfer portal.

Nebraska’s coaching staff has been aggressive in the transfer portal. The Huskers have already been connected with five quarterbacks in the portal. You can imagine name, image and likeness money will play a significant role in who will eventually commit to the Cornhuskers. Matt Rhule explained the importance of the program.

“Make no mistake: a good quarterback in the portal costs $1 million to $1.5 million to $2 million right now. So, just so we’re on the same page, right? Let’s make sure we all understand what’s happening. There are some teams that have six or seven $1 million players playing for them.”

Rhule described the types of quarterback he would look for should the Huskers choose that route.

“The portal for me, I either want to get someone with multiple years, no matter the position, that’s on caliber with the guys we have. Or someone who is an instant impact upgrade. Someone who can make a difference.”
