Alabama’s Brandon Miller among the top prospects in latest 2023 NBA Big Board

Brandon Miller is on his way to being a top-ten pick in next year’s NBA draft. Here is where he sits in a recent 2023 NBA Big Board release by 247Sports.

The Alabama men’s basketball team is one of the most fun teams to watch in recent memories and a lot of that has to do with the play of the sensational freshman forward Brandon Miller.

Miller has taken college basketball by storm early on in the season and is clearly one of the best players in the country.

Through the first seven games of the season, Miller is averaging 19.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. The 6’9″ forward is shooting 40% from the field, 80% from the free throw line, and 48% from three.

Recently, 247Sports updated their 2023 NBA Big Board and the super-star for the Tide came in at No. 7.

247 would list scoring, defensive versatility, and shot-making as Miller’s key attributes.

Here is everything they had to say about Miller’s NBA prospects:

Brandon Miller has long been one of the most tantalizing prospects in this class. His size, athleticism, and skillset have been extremely enticing, but his motor and production didn’t always match the talent in high school.

However, Miller started piecing it together heading into his senior year and it is all taking form for him in Tuscaloosa.

He’s an advanced and dynamic scorer who can rebound and defend multiple positions while improving his outside jumper. Miller has been spectacular so far this season but is also the oldest freshman in this draft class.

There is no denying the impact that Miller has had on [autotag]Nate Oats[/autotag] and the Crimson Tide this season and it will be fun to see just how far the freshman can carry Alabama.

Jabari Smith, Walker Kessler on 247Sports latest NBA Draft Big Board

Could Auburn have two first round picks in the NBA Draft?

Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler had dominant regular seasons for Auburn and both were honored by the SEC on Tuesday.

Both were named to the All-SEC First-Team while Smith was named the Freshman of the Year and Kessler the Defensive Player of the Year.

As expected for players who have had such great seasons, both have seen their draft stock skyrocket and Travis Branham of 247Sports included both in his latest 2022 NBA Draft Big Board.

Kessler did not receive a write-up, but he is his 4th ranked center.

When discussing Smith, Branham highlighted his defense, shooting, and development.

-Extremely high floor prospect at 6-foot-10 with the ability to knock down threes at a high rate and can create his own shot.

-On a terrific development curve and trajectory with his consistent and rapid improvement over the last three years.

-Has shown ample amount of flashes as an outstanding defender who can switch on the perimeter and can defend both the four and five as he continues to fill out.

-Great blend of having a high floor and also having high upside. Easy to project how he will impact the game at the NBA level.

-All Star potential.

He only had one concern for Smith.

Where Greg Brown sits on the latest 2021 NBA Draft big board

DraftWire updated their NBA Draft board, with Brown being in the top 25. He would be Texas’ fifth drafted player in the last six years.

Going into this 2020 NBA Draft, Texas has no players in the mix. All of their production form the 2019 season will be returning and five-star forward Greg Brown will be a major edition for Shaka Smart.

Flash forward to a year from now, a Brown will be pushing to become a lottery pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. A 6-6 forward, Brown is was the No. 9 player coming out of high school and the top player in the state of Texas.

RookieWire recently updated their NBA Draft Big Board for the 2021 class, with Brown coming in at No. 25. He would be Texas’ fifth drafted player in the last six years.

Here is what RookieWire said about the incoming freshman:

Greg Brown averaged 18.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists with 1.5 steals per game on the AAU circuit in 2019 for the Texas Titans. Brown also had the second-best player efficiency rating (36.0) among all participants in the 17U adidas Gold Gauntlet in 2018-19. He is a highlight-reel dunker, too, which can help his fame among more casual fans when he throws down on bigger stages.

Once Brown gets his one season in Austin, he will ascend up the big board. His athleticism alone will be too good to pass up. Smart will get time to work on his offensive and defensive game, potentially making him a top player in the draft.

Atop the board is Oklahoma State point guard Cade Cunningham. Despite the Cowboys not being able to participate in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, Cunningham decided to stick true to his commitment. Mike Boynton’s team will be a problem in the Big 12, even if they cannot participate past the regular season.

Three conference players are also ahead of Brown, including Jared Butler of Baylor, Miles McBride of West Virginia, and Oscar Tshiebwe of West Virginia.
