Which CFB programs spent the most on recruitment in 2022?

These 10 college football programs spent the most money on recruiting in 2022.

Recruiting isn’t a cheap expense when you consider all of the things that go into trying to land a commitment. You have to get your coaching staff to the recruit’s games and meet his coaches and family as well as eventually host the family on your campus. You must provide them with housing, meals, transportation, and any other kind of accommodation that will help put you in the good graces of a recruit.

The back-to-back national champions, Georgia Bulldogs, spent nearly 25% more than the second-place Clemson Tigers with $4.5 million in recruiting in 2022.

The Alabama Crimson Tide came in seventh on the list having spent $2.3 million on recruiting in 2022. What is impressive though is that they finished with the second-best recruiting class in 2022, higher than both Clemson and Georgia. The Tide trailed only Texas A&M, but Alabama still had the higher average of recruits.

As for the SEC, they are strongly represented on this list making up seven of the ten teams on the list if you include Texas and Oklahoma.

Dont’a Hightower announces retirement from the NFL

Former Crimson Tide LB, Dont’a Hightower, announces retirement from the NFL

Former Alabama Crimson Tide great, Dont’a Hightower, has officially announced his retirement from the NFL. Hightower spent the entirety of his career with the New England Patriots and was a three-time Super Bowl champion.

Along with the Super Bowl victories, Hightower is also a two-time Pro Bowler, a second-team All-Pro and a member of the New England Patriots All-Dynasty team. He also started as a true freshman for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide and was a two-time BCS national champion. It is difficult to find a player more accomplished than Hightower.

Hightower sat out the entirety of the 2022 season which lead to some speculation that he would likely retire, which was ultimately the final decision.

Five reasons why Alabama-Texas should not be a noon kickoff

Alabama and Texas noon kick-off ticks a lot of people off, here’s why it should be primetime

Earlier this week it was announced that Fox Sports would earn the broadcasting rights to the epic gridiron showdown between Alabama and Texas on Sept. 10th, 2022. This will be Alabama’s first game on Fox Sports since before the past time these two met 13 years ago.

Unfortunately, Fox decided the best time slot for this game was 11am central, and needless to say the fans were not happy. Texans fans went as far this week as to start a petition to flex the time of the game to the primetime slot.

Both of these teams have playoff aspirations and this game will have massive ramifications in that hunt.

Here are five reasons why a noon kick-off is bad for the players, fans, and even Fox.

WATCH: Bengals are considering options other than Joe Burrow at No. 1

Cincinnati’s opportunity with the first overall selection is not one that the organization is decisive about yet.

Director of Player Personnel Duke Tobin explained to reporters this week that the team is evaluating options outside of just Heisman Trophy winner and National Champion quarterback Joe Burrow.

The Bengals’ own website explained Wednesday that the team is looking at other QBs and Sports Illustrated Thursday detailed how that evaluation process is, at this point, still a competition.

According to Tobin via SI, the Bengals are looking at Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa, Oregon’s Justin Herbert and Ohio State defensive end Chase Young.

Tobin, though, was clear that a quarterback is a priority.

“We know what Joe is on tape; we know what Tua is on tape; we know what Justin is on tape,” Tobin told SI. “Our role right now is to try to find out what we don’t know.”

From details regarding leadership style to how a QB adjusts to changing circumstances and what his personality is like on and off the field, the Bengals say they are considering everything about each player ahead of making the first pick.
