Black Stripe Alert! Freshman receiver Mylan Graham sheds black stripe

Newest member of Zone 6 #GoBucks

While freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith is getting all the hype, many people forget there was another highly touted receiver in the 2024 recruiting class in Mylan Graham. Becoming the newest member of Zone 6, Graham has lost his black stripe to be officially welcomed to the Brotherhood.

While it is becoming more and more common for football players to enroll in January, Graham didn’t make his way to Columbus until June of this year. By all accounts, the Indiana native is holding his own in a loaded receiving room.

Graham was listed as a four-star recruit by 247Sports. He was listed as the No. 12 receiver and a top 100 player overall.

With such a deep unit, it may be tough for Graham to get much play in year one, but this kid definitely has all the tools to be a great one in Scarlet and Gray.

Reminder, Ohio State has another 5-star wide receiver on the way

WRU will just get strong in the fall. #GoBucks

Although Ohio State football true freshman wide receiver, Jeremiah Smith, has been getting all the early love, the Buckeyes also signed another 5-star at the position.

Indianaā€™s [autotag]Mylan Graham[/autotag] did not enroll early, so the preseason hype for him has not gotten going, but letā€™s not forget that he was ranked as the nations No. 33 overall prospect and 7th receiver according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

That puts Graham into 5-star status, giving Ohio State yet another young, elite option at the position. He most likely wonā€™t crack the rotation early due to having to learn the system, but this clip should remind us all of his talent.

There is no doubt in my mind that Graham will make multiple positive contributions for the Buckeyes, potentially as a returner as well. We are just going to have to wait until the fall for his hype to begin.

Top five wide receivers signed to the Big Ten on early signing day

Who were the top five receivers to sign with Big Ten teams during the early signing period? #GoBucks

The initial hype of the early signing period has died down, but there was a ton of talent to explore and so much so we are breaking it down by position. We have already dived into the top five quarterbacks and running backs to sign with Big Ten teams and now we want to break down a position Ohio State always dominates in with wide receivers.

It is no secret that the Buckeyes once again locked in the best in the class at the position and the players we are going to talk about today all have an opportunity to play early and often. It should be no surprise that some of the East Coast newcomers snagged some of the top talent at this position as well.

The Big Ten snagged five of the top 20 wide receivers in this class and with the expansion taking place, this will likely be the case year in and year out. Now it is time to dive in and provide the top five wide receivers in the class to sign with Big Ten teams according to 247Sports.

Watch: Ohio State football commits in action during opening week

Multiple future Buckeyes had standout performances #GoBucks

This past weekend was the beginning of high school football and our first glimpse at Ohio State football commitments back in action.

We already highlighted 2026 wide receiver commit Chris Henry Jr., but that was because he played on Thursday when not many other teams were on the gridiron. It wasnā€™t just Henry Jr. that got some earlier love, 2024 quarterback Air Noland was on the national spotlight and helped lead his team to a huge season opening win.

The majority of the rest of the class got their seasons started on Friday and Saturday and here are some of the top performances from Ohio State commits.

Missouri 2024 wide receiver has Ohio State in his top five

The Buckeyes final receiver target has narrowed down his list #GoBucks

There is still one more wide receiver target that Ohio State is focusing on in the 2024 recruiting class.

With two 5-stars at the position in the fold, [autotag]Jeremiah Smith[/autotag] and [autotag]Mylan Graham[/autotag], the Buckeye receiver room is one of the deepest in the country. The staffā€™s final target is Missouriā€™s [autotag]Jeremiah McClellan[/autotag], who made an official visit in June.

The 6-foot, 190-pound McClellan announced on Sunday that his top five are Ohio State, Oregon, LSU, Georgia, and Missouri. He is ranked as the No. 18 best at his position and 108th nationally by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The inclusion for the Buckeyes isnā€™t the only encouraging aspect of McClellanā€™s current status, heā€™s has two 247Sports crystal ball selections to end up playing his college football in Columbus.

We’ll continue to keep an eye out on this recruitment as more is known.

Mylan Graham bumped up to a five star in newest On3 rankings

Well, looky here! #GoBucks

On3 released an update to their top 300 players in the 2024 recruiting class rankings today. The new rankings featured many Ohio State football commits, including three ranked inside of the top 12.

Jeremiah Smith, a wide receiver out of Hollywood, FL, a Buckeye commit since December of last year came in as No. 2 overall in On3’s newest rankings. Justin Scott, a defensive lineman out of Illinois who just announced his commitment to the Buckeyes was the No. 5 ranked player in the class.

But, of note, Mylan Graham — who committed to the Buckeyes in April — added his fifth star for On3 and rose to the No. 12 ranked player in the 2024 class. Graham is an integral piece of yet another stellar wide receiver class brought in by Brian Hartline.

The star receiver who attends New Haven High School in Indiana hauled 48 passes for 1,149 yards and 13 touchdowns in his junior season.

Graham has the skillset to make an impact early in his career at Ohio State.Ā  At 6-foot-1, and 170-pounds, he is electric with the ball in his hands, not just possessing great speed, but the ability to change speeds and direction on a dime.

It’s no secret that Ohio State has developed wide receivers better than any program in recent years and Graham has all the skills and talent to develop into a star.

Scoutā€™s view: Ohio Stateā€™s newest commit, 2024 defensive tackle Justin Scott

You should see Scott early and often in his Buckeye career #GoBucks

[autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] scored a massive recruiting win on Sunday evening, when 2024 Illinois five-star defensive tackle [autotag]Justin Scott[/autotag] committed to the Buckeyes.

Scott is ranked among the best in the country, checking in as the No. 3 defensive tackle and No. 14 player overall in the nation on the 247Sports composite.

The 6-foot, 4-inch, 310-pound Scott is the fourth five-star recruit in the class, joining wide receivers [autotag]Jeremiah Smith[/autotag] and [autotag]Mylan Graham[/autotag] and quarterback [autotag]Air Noland[/autotag].

After watching Scottā€™s highlights from his junior year, you can see exactly why heā€™s so highly regarded by recruiting services. Find out what to expect from the newest Ohio State commit below.

Ohio State commit Mylan Graham says Miami working hard to flip commitment

The Miami Hurricanes are working hard to flip Mylan Graham.

In today’s new world of big-time college athletics, a commitment doesn’t mean much these days. Fan bases get excited for the next big name, and then someone else starts flirting with the newest edition. I’m not sure there are many who understand the actual meaning of the word commitment any longer.

There has been much conversation about five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who is the No. 1 receiver in the class and an Ohio State commit, taking an official visit to Georgia. Smith maintains he is locked in as long as Ryan Day and Brian Hartline are still in Columbus, but the trip still leaves fans feeling uneasy.

Now another Buckeye commit has given OSU fans reason to worry. Five-star receiver Mylan Graham says Miami is working hard to flip his commitment.

Graham has kept a good relationship with Miami receivers coach Kevin Beard. Beard was formerly on staff at the University of Toledo and was one of the first to make a connection with the prized wide out from Indiana.

Graham had this to say about Miami.

When I went down there, they made a good impression on me,” Graham said. “They were showing me around campus and everything. It was a better campus than I expected when I went. As far as recruiting me, they’re still trying to get at me, but they understand I’m committed to Ohio State.”

It sounds like OSU is still firmly in the driver’s seat, but when asked about Miami’s chances to stay in the picture, Graham kept the door open saying this of the Hurricane’s recruiting efforts: “Really just keep recruiting me hard and show me the culture’s changing. Show me that it’s actually changing. That’ll be it, really.”

Reason to worry? When you’re talking about 17-year-old kids, it’s anyone’s guess.

It still seems Graham is locked in with the Buckeyes, but in this new world of college recruiting, we’ll have to hold our collective breath until pen actually meets paper.

Florida football looking to flip 5-star Ohio State WR commit

The Gators are looking to flip one of the best wide receivers in the 2024 recruiting cycle from the Buckeyes.

Florida football got a visit from five-star Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver commit [autotag]Mylan Graham[/autotag] out of New Haven (Indiana) on Monday as Billy Napier and Co. look to flip one of the top 2024 prep prospects to the Orange and Blue.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 170-pound pass-catcher received an offer from the Gators back on March 28 ā€” a week before his April 4 verbal commitment to OSU ā€” and his recent stop marks his first-ever visit to the Swamp. Despite his intent on playing out the 2024 season in Columbus, the rising high school senior is still keeping his options open.

The highly-sought receiver accounted for 73 receptions, good for 1,496 yards and 15 touchdowns in 17 high school varsity games overall.

Graham is ranked No. 19 overall and No. 4 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 12 and 4, respectively.

WATCH: Mylan Graham recruiting video

Check out the newest member of the 2024 OSU recruiting class with Mylan Graham’s junior season highlights. #GoBucks

In case you missed the news on Wednesday, the Ohio State football program got a huge verbal commitment when 5-star receiver Mylan Graham picked Columbus as his college football destination.

It makes the second 5-star receiver in the class along with the No. 1 ranked pass catcher, Jeremiah Smith in the 2024 cycle. It also brings the total verbal commitments to eight players for OSU, a group that is quickly rising and now inside the top four classes according to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.

Graham brings a lot to the table, something we’ve already gone through in our “scout’s take.” He is shifty and explosive and should push for playing time immediately upon arriving on campus.

But don’t take it from us. Here’s a look at the recruiting video of Graham’s junior season thanks to Hudl.com.

Don’t look now, but Ohio State has a great chance to land several other highly-sought after prospects in the near future, and as things progress, we’ll continue to follow it all.
