LOOK: Top 2024 CB target shows love to Michigan on social media

Gotta love seeing this! #GoBlue

2024 Springfield (Ohio) cornerback Aaron Scott is headed to Ohio State this weekend for an official visit.

Scott has a final five that consists of Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, and Tennessee. However, most people believe this recruitment will be a Michigan vs. Ohio State battle.

Then on Friday morning, before Scott heads to Columbus for his visit, he shouted out Michigan on his Twitter page. He posted four photos of himself in the maize and blue uniform from the official visit he took in Ann Arbor last weekend.

Scott is listed as a four-star recruit, the 39th-ranked player in the country, and depending on which service you look at, he’s either the No. 1 or No. 2 ranked player in Ohio.

It appeared Scott really bonded with current Michigan commits when he took his official visit to Ann Arbor. In fact, Wolverine commit Jacob Oden told Brice Marich with The Michigan Insider that he and Scott hung out the entire weekend and he belives Scott could see himself playing in Ann Arbor.

Scott is currently viewed as an Ohio State lean. Looking at On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes have a 95.9% chance of landing the Springfield star.

Michigan football makes final four for 2024 OT prospect

Need to lock him up this weekend #GoBlue

The Wolverines have 17 commitments in the 2024 class so far and five of them are offensive linemen. Michigan lost Olu Oluwatimi and Ryan Hayes from last season’s Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line but the Wolverines replenished the line by bringing in three sought-after transfers.

Although Michigan has five linemen committed in the 2024 cycle, it’s not stopping Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines from going after more talent for the best offensive line in the country — for two years running.

On Thursday, 2024 four-star offensive tackle Bennett Warren officially named Michigan a finalist. The Wolverines are joined by Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

Warren, the 6-foot-7, 330-pound lineman, hails from Sugar Land (Texas) Fort Bend Christian Academy. According to the 247Sports Composite, he is the 175th-ranked recruit and the 13th-best offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle.

While Bennett did name a top four, it appears Michigan and Texas A&m are the two main teams in the running to land him. There are two Crystal Ball predictions for Bennett and one is in favor of Michigan while the other is for the Aggies. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine slightly favors Texas A&M over the maize and blue.

Bennett took a visit to Texas A&M on June 1, and he will be in Ann Arbor this weekend for an official visit. He is set to visit Oklahoma and Tennessee before June ends.

Official visit weekend for Michigan football, top 2024 prospects in Ann Arbor

What a stacked recruiting list for Michigan this weekend. #GoBliue

June is going to be a busy month for Michigan football for 2024 recruiting. The Wolverines started last weekend with multiple top recruits visiting Ann Arbor, and it continues this weekend.

Fourteen recruits in the 2024 class are taking official visits this weekend, and two are priority five-star recruits. The Wolverines are set to host five-star defensive tackle Justin Scott and big-time wide receiver Ryan Wingo.

Michigan is also hosting several players it leads for according to the different recruiting services. Could the maize and blue be in line for a commitment this weekend? If things go well, it’s possible.

Here is the list of every player taking an official visit to Michigan this weekend.

Michigan football in top group for a big Ohio target

It’ll be tough to beat out Ohio State, but Michigan is making it interesting!

Michigan has done a great job at grabbing fantastic talent in the 2024 recruiting class. The Wolverines are starting to shift their focus back on Ohio and the maize and blue are generating some buzz from the Ohio recruits.

The Wolverines already have four Ohio natives committed to them for the 2024 cycle, including one of the top-ranked running backs in the country, Jordan Marshall.

Michigan is also in the running, if not leading, for three other top Ohio targets. Edge Brian Robinson and corners Aaron Scott and Bryce West. West just announced his top seven schools he will consider and Michigan made the cut. Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, USC, Alabama, and Georgia round out the final seven.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, West is the top-ranked player in Ohio. He is the 43rd overall player in the 2024 cycle and the fourth-best corner. The 5-foot-11 corner plays high school football in Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville.

The Buckeyes will be tough to beat to get West. There are currently seven Crystal Ball predictions in on West to end up at Ohio State.

Here is Allen Trieu’s scouting report on West via 247Sports.

Has enough size and measureables to project to a high major level. Has a track background and has run as fast as 10.93 in the 100-meter dash and 6.96 in the 60-meter dash. Also has offensive snaps and has shown himself to be a breakaway threat as a running back. Has played man for his school and also shown he can do that in a camp or workout setting. Shows good ball skills. Will put his nose in the action and lay a hit. Doesn’t show a single elite trait but is solid in every area. Continuing to add polish while building upon his quicks and long speed, which are already good, are keys for his developmental future.

West is scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan this weekend on June 9. Afterward, he will take visits to USC (June 16) and Ohio State (June 23).

Elite 2025 wide receiver visiting Michigan football this week

#Michigan is working hard on the 2025 class as well!

The 2024 recruiting cycle is drawing most of the attention right now, and rightly so. The Wolverines have the second-ranked class in the country led by five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis. High end recruits are lining up on the weekends in June to visit Ann Arbor and commitments are surely going to come this month.

While the 2024 class is sparking the interest of the fan base, the coaching staff is also working hard on the 2025 recruiting class. The Wolverines recently offered 2025 Sachse (Texas) four-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett back on May 15.

That offer for Lockett sparked interest and he announced on Twitter he would be visiting Michigan this Wednesday.

Even though the 2025 cycle is a whole year away, Lockett is listed as one of the better wide receivers according to the 247Sports Composite. The 6-foot-1 junior is ranked as the 173rd player in the cycle and the 23rd-best wide receiver in the 2025 class.

Lockett currently doesn’t have a ton of offers his way. But the more notable schools to offer him are Arizona State, Nebraska, Texas Tech, and Utah.

During his sophomore season of high school, Lockett reeled in 29 receptions for 492 yards and five touchdowns. He also runs a verified 11.54-second 100-yard dash.

Michigan football kicks off June with a big recruiting weekend

Big weekend to kick off June! #Michigan

Every weekend in June will be big for Michigan football and the 2024 recruiting class. Big names, five stars, and high four stars will be making their way to Ann Arbor to see what Michigan is all about and June will surely bring some commitments.

And it all begins on Friday.

Michigan has five official visits scheduled for June 2 weekend and the Wolverines also has UMass transfer Josh Wallace on campus.

All five players in the 2024 class are four-star players according to 247Sports and one of them is a Michigan commit, Jerod Smith.

The other four players on campus this weekend is Jacob Smith, Jerod’s brother, Brian Robinson, Jordan Shipp, and Marquis Gallegos.

Rankings

Brian Robinson is the highest-ranked player on campus this weekend. The Youngstown (Ohio) Fitch edge recruit is ranked 132nd in the 2024 cycle. The Wolverines lead for Robinson, but he is set to take visits to Penn State and Kentucky as well.

Jacob Smith, also an edge rusher, is the 210th-ranked prospect. The Cheshire (Connecticut) Cheshire Academy recruit has one Crystal Ball in on him going to Kentucky, but his brother committing to Michigan surely helps the cause. His final five schools are Alabama, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Georgia, and Kentucky.

Jerod Smith, a Michigan commit, is an interior defensive line prospect that has the capability of moving outside if needed. He is ranked 229th in the class and has great size at 265-pounds heading into his senior season.

Marquis Gallegos is a safety recruit and is ranked 252nd in the class. He is from West Hills (California) Chaminade and not much has been heard of regarding his recruitment with Michigan. Gallegos is also considering USC, Oregon, and Notre Dame.

Lastly, wide receiver Jordan Shipp will be on campus. Shipp plays with five-star, and Michigan commit, Jadyn Davis at Providence Day School (North Carolina). He is the 413th-ranked recruit in the 2024 class and is also considering North Carolina, Georgia, and NC State.

Top 2025 Michigan football commit hitting the road for visits in June

#Michigan will need to make sure they seal the deal to keep him in the fold.

Chris Ewald Jr. was the first commitment Michigan football received in the class of 2025. The 6-foot cornerback announced his intentions to go to the Wolverines back in December of 2022.

Ewald, a top-100 and four-star recruit, has been solid with Michigan and the coaching staff. He has been seen on Twitter heavily recruiting players to come play in Ann Arbor and showing enthusiasm when the Wolverines get a commitment.

Since his commitment to Michigan, the Hollywood (Florida) Chaminade-Madonna Prep. recruit has been getting a ton of interest and offers from other schools. He has over 20 scholarship offers and some of significance like Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and USC.

With his recruitment gaining more traction, Ewald announced on Twitter that he would be hitting the road in early June to visit some different schools. He will visit Miami (June 1), Tennessee (June 2), Florida State (June 8), USC (June 14), and finishing out with Michigan (June 22).

Michigan has two players committed for the 2025 cycle and Ewald is a big target for the Wolverines. Even though he is committed to Michigan, the Wolverines will need to continue to recruit him and make sure they seal the deal to sign him when the 2025 cycle is complete.

A top 2025 QB set to visit Michigan on Wednesday

This is a good visit for Michigan!

Michigan football is set at the quarterback position in the 2024 recruiting class. The Wolverines have five-star Jadyn Davis and he has been a big part in recruiting players to come play with him in Ann Arbor.

But, in order to always feel safe at arguably the most important position in college football, you need to have signal callers in every recruiting class.

Michigan is going in hard for 2025 five-star Bryce Underwood who is the No. 1 QB and the No. 3 prospect in the 2025 cycle. But in case the Belleville (Michigan) prospect chooses to not go to Michigan, the Wolverines need other options at the position.

2025 four-star quarterback Husan Longstreet announced on Twitter he would be visiting Michigan on May 31. Longstreet will be seeing Ohio State the day before and will also be visiting LSU on June 2.

According to 247Sports Composite, the 6-foot-2 quarterback is the 147th-ranked recruit in 2025 and the No. 8 quarterback in the cycle.

247Sports, itself, is a little higher on Longstreet than what the Composite says. According to the recruiting site, he is a top-50 recruit and the third-best QB in 2025.

Longstreet hails from Corona (California) Centennial. It appears Michigan has not offered him yet, but we would assume the offer is coming when Longstreet visits Michigan on Wednesday. Here are the notable offers Longstreet holds so far: Colorado, Florida State, Miami, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Oregon, Pittsburgh, UCLA, Washington, and others.

Michigan makes final eight schools for 2024 coveted WR

Need more of these big, athletic wide receivers!

Michigan football has five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis committed to it in the 2024 class, but the Wolverines currently only have one wide receiver in the 2024 cycle to go along with the quarterback — Michigan also has two top tight ends as well.

The Wolverines are firmly in on a few top wide receivers in the current cycle like five-star Ryan Wingo and four-star Gatlin Bair.

And it appears that Michigan has made a final cut for another coveted wide receiver, Makhai White.

White announced on Twitter his final eight schools he is considering and Michigan made it along with Tennessee, Maryland, Penn State, Arkansas, LSU, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma.

The 2024 three-star, King George (Virginia) wide receiver has fantastic size entering his senior year of high school standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 185-pounds.

According to the 247Sports Composite, White is the 531st-ranked recruit in the 2024 cycle and the 10th-ranked prospect in Virginia.

There are currently two Crystal Ball predictions on White going to Michigan from 247Sports. One is from an Oklahoma Sooners insider and the other is by Greg Biggins — a national recruiting analyst. And if you look at the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Wolverines are leading the way with a 70.1% chance to land White.

In 2022, White caught 37 catches for 1,039 yards, and 18 touchdowns during his junior year of high school.

Michigan football projected to land 4-star DL and former Notre Dame commit

#Michigan is looking to steal a player away from rival Notre Dame! #GoBlue

Although Michigan and Notre Dame haven’t met on the gridiron since 2019, the rivalry continues to get juicy.

The Fighting Irish lost a commitment from four-star defensive lineman, Owen Wafle, on Wednesday. He went to Twitter to announce the decommitment with a letter of thanks to the Notre Dame community and football staff.

Ironically, Michigan offered Wafle on Wednesday as well, and Owen has set up an official visit to Ann Arbor in June to meet with the coaches and check out the campus.

Also, ironically, Michigan received eight Crystal Ball predictions to get Wafle in the 2024 class on 247Sports. Both Steve Wiltfong and Brian Dohn — who are both national recruiting analysts —  are two of them that put in predictions for Wafle to head to the Wolverines.

Wafle hails from Princeton (New Jersey) Hun School and stands at 6-foot-2 and 290-pounds. According to 247Sports Composite, Wafle is a four-star, the 405th-ranked recruit in the 2024 class, the 41st-ranked defensive lineman, and the No. 8 recruit in the state of New Jersey.

Here is Brian Dohn’s scouting report on Wafle:

Thick build with plus length. Has low center of gravity and plays low to win leverage. Has snaps on both sides of ball as fullback and defensive lineman. Strong, physical, hard-nosed player with strong work ethic. Showed ability to bend during spring workout. Ferocious style of play evident during in-game eval in fall 2021. Gets off quickly at snap and covers ground well in first three steps. Shows stack-and-shed ability. Can take on block and re-direction along line of scrimmage. Can anchor in run game. Willing to take on and fight through double teams. Relies heavily on power and strength and often wins leverage by sinking hips. Plays with high effort and has strong work ethic. Does show rip and spin moves but needs to continue to develop technique and diversify move sets. Has to maintain lower body flexibility while also getting stronger. Multi-year starter at high-level program. Has late round NFL draft potential.

Wafle has notable offers from Duke, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and West Virginia.
