Orange Bowl: What Michigan media is saying about Georgia

Here’s what Michigan media is saying about Georgia ahead of the Orange Bowl…

It’s No. 3 Georgia (12-1) versus No. 3 Michigan (12-1) in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Orange Bowl in Miami on New Year’s Eve.

Michigan is the hard-nosed, physical Big Ten champion, while the Bulldogs roll into town as SEC East champions but coming off a poor performance at the SEC Championship versus Alabama.

Still, the Bulldogs’ dominance in the regular season was so convincing, they made the playoffs regardless and find themselves with an opportunity to advance to a championship.

Here’s what Michigan media is saying about Georgia ahead of the playoff matchup:

Big Ten postpones football and fall sports, 2020 CFB looking unlikely

The Big Ten announced its decision to cancel fall sports according to their official website

Georgia’s 2020 college football season may end before it even begins. With the possible upcoming season cancellation or postponement (into spring of 2021).

The Big Ten announced its decision to cancel fall sports according to their official website. The Big Ten is the first Power Five conference to do so.

The Big Ten Conference announced the postponement of the 2020-21 fall sports season, including all regular-season contests and Big Ten Championships and Tournaments, due to ongoing health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vast amounts of students are returning to campus and COVID cases remain high in the United States. College football would be excessively difficult and expensive to put in a bubble, so the risk for athletes and coaches would be too high for the Big Ten to justify a season.

The news came out yesterday, but it wasn’t official. Numerous notable players and coaches are protesting the decision.

It’s a depressing day for college football fans across the nation. Fans should anticipate other Power Five conferences joining in. The Pac-12 should be the next domino to fall.

The SEC is expected to be most resistant to cancelling or postponing the season. Without the Big Ten, it is tough to imagine that there will be a football season this year.

4-star WR Xavier Worthy commits to the University of Michigan

Georgia Bulldogs football recruiting target Xavier Worthy has committed to the University of Michigan Wolverines.

The Georgia Bulldogs were among the top schools for four-star wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to secure a commitment from him.

Worthy is a member of the class of 2021 and is from Fresno, California (UGA’s Kendall Milton also hails from the area). Worthy plays football for Central East High School.

Worthy has committed to the University of Michigan. He announced his commitment via Twitter:

Worthy has had some pretty sweet edits. Here’s the one he released for his top schools:

Worthy picked Michigan over UGA, Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, and LSU, which made up his top six.

Worthy will be a solid addition to Michigan’s class of 2021. The Wolverines are looking to dethrone Ohio State, but have a long way to go as the Buckeyes have the top class of 2021 in the country.

The Dawgs are currently seeking a talented wide receiver to commit in the class of 2021. Kirby Smart and Georgia have solidified the offensive and defensive fronts already.
