Here’s a look at some of the items available this week at the Wyndham Championship.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Rain jackets, vests, ponchos and umbrellas were popular items at the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship on Thursday.

PGA Tour vet Kevin Streelman, who attended nearby Duke University, described the rainy conditions as “a consistent, annoying, cold, wet, gross day.”

The rain is gone but the shoppers still have plenty of good options to pick through at Sedgefield Country Club’s shop. It’s one of the tournament sites where spectators are invited into the pro shop.

Inside, they find a wide range of the typical merchandise options — who wants a Wyn hat? — with a better-than-average mix of items geared for women.

Here’s a look at some of the items available this week at the Wyndham Championship.

Derek Carr’s New Orleans Saints gear ranks among NFL’s best-selling merchandise

The NFLPA reports that Derek Carr’s New Orleans Saints gear ranks among pro football’s best-selling merchandise:

Look out for a lot of Derek Carr jerseys inside the Caesars Superdome in the fall. The New Orleans Saints quarterback ranked 14th in player sales in the last quarter, per NFL Players Association records. The NFLPA tracks the sales of officially licensed products and merchandise each fiscal quarter, and it’s clear that fans are excited to see Carr dropping back to pass in New Orleans.

Though Carr was the only Saints player on the list, he’s also the highest-ranked member of the NFC South. The three lesser teams in the division are represented by Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson (at No. 48), Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (No. 49), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (No. 50).

Will Carr meet these high expectations and give Saints fans something to cheer about? That’s what everyone is waiting to see when the regular season kicks off in September. But early reviews out of training camp are positive, and it sure sounds like Carr’s version of the offense is going to run more smoothly than the inconsistent attack we saw with Andy Dalton and Jameis Winston at the helm.

Photos: Merchandise at the 2023 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities

Here’s a look at some of the best merchandise at the 2023 3M Open.

BLAINE, Minn. — The 3M Open is one of the newer events on the PGA Tour, beginning in 2019 at TPC Twin Cities.

In that short span, it has produced some thrilling moments. Matthew Wolff’s final-hole eagle to win in 2019. Tony Finau’s comeback last year.

And in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, there’s plenty of good merchandise for fans to take home from the PGA Tour’s stop in the Twin Cities.

Shirts, hats and jackets? They’ve got ’em. Flags, ball markers and coffee cups? Plenty to choose from. There’s even plenty of gifts for kids and numerous accessories for at home, the office or the course.

Safe to say, the merchandise tent is strong and has something for everyone.

Here’s a look at some of the best merchandise at the 2023 3M Open.

HOYLAKE, England — The R&A’s big tent has come a long way, baby, to borrow the old Virginia Slims slogan.

It’s got that Disney vibe where just when you think you’re going to get in, there’s another turn to the line. At the same time, the walk in to the merchandise treats you to a history lesson on the Open Championship and many of its great champions so the wait isn’t totally unbearable.

Once inside, the Open has a great collection of brands: Peter Millar, TravisMathew, Kjus, Boss, the Tartan Collection just to name a few.

Lots of navy and bold yellows and Claret Jug logoed items. It’s very much the usual suspects in terms of what is available but they just seem to do it better.

A couple of my favorites: the Quiet Please head cover, the Lee Wybranski poster, preferably as a T-shirt and the Kjus puffy jacket.

GULLANE, Scotland — Sometimes less is more.

The merchandise tent at the Genesis Scottish Open is small by most standards and a shadow of the big tent that will be on display next week at the 151st British Open at Royal Liverpool. But that doesn’t mean the shop in the fan village at The Renaissance Club didn’t score with some good threads to rock at the home club.

Glenmuir, the Scottish apparel brand dating to 1891, had top billing and delivered the goods and there was also a lot of Nike gear available. I liked the use of the Scottish colors — be it of the flag or the Scotch tartan.

The other pleasant surprise was seeing about half the space being used for Ryder Cup gear. It’s only a few months now until the biennial match will be contested at Marco Simone, and why not stock up for the big occasion, especially if you’re not planning to make the trip to Rome in late September.

Here are some of the offerings on display.

The lack of green at the John Deere Classic merch tent was surprising.

SILVIS, Ill. — The PGA Tour is making its annual pit stop in the Quad Cities this week for the 2023 John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run, the event’s home since 2000.

You’d think an event sponsored by John Deere would lead to a merchandise tent loaded with the classic John Deere green, right? While there’s plenty of options for fans of all ages and sizes, the green is few and far between, with blue as the overarching color. The tent has a little something for everyone, from men’s and women’s hats, shirts, polos and more to a strong collection of kids gear and knick-knacks for the shelf.

Oh, Canada, you have some pretty cool merch.

NORTH YORK, Ontario — The PGA Tour is making its annual pit stop in Canada this year for the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, this year at Oakdale Golf and Country Club.

As soon as you step inside the massive merchandise tent near a fan village area loaded with food trucks, bars and games, you’re peppered with red Maple Leaf logos and the signature blue-and-yellow RBC colors. The tent has a little something for everyone, from men’s and women’s hats, shirts, polos and more to a strong collection of kids gear and knick-knacks.

After fire forced relocation, Charles Schwab Challenge merch tent offerings are still available

“If it happens Monday night, the whole thing probably goes up in flames and it’s a disaster.”

FORT WORTH, Texas — The merchandise tent for this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge is a little cramped, a little warm and a little difficult to navigate.

But tournament organizers say it’s still something of a blessing.

After a fire that was snuffed out in an empty tent on Sunday night, the area that houses the merchandise and the performance center was rendered unusable just before those at Colonial Country Club were set to fill it with this week’s shirts, hats and other souvenirs.

“Something sparked. We’re still not sure what,” said Dennis Roberson, the tournament director. “We have security on site the entire week and they discovered it fairly quickly and helped put it out.”

Over the next 24 hours, crews put up a smaller tent in an area traditionally reserved for tennis. Although Roberson said organizers would prefer a different, grander presentation, he’s still happy with the way his team has jumped into action.

“We’ve been given a circumstance and we’re moving, managing, solving problems, putting up new signage and making the best of an unfortunate situation,” he said. “We’re doing the Colonial thing and going forward.”

And what if the tents had been filled already?

“If it happens Monday night, the whole thing probably goes up in flames and it’s a disaster,” Roberson said. “The way it happened we got to salvage things.”

Here’s a look at what’s available in the makeshift tent:

If you’re in the market for some gear from the 2023 PGA Championship, get to the merchandise center sooner rather than later.

It’s only right that the second men’s major championship of the season would feature some top-notch gear to go along with the world-class field on hand at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York. A wide array of hats, shirts, gear and more are on sale for men, women and children, and the acorn logo is more than fitting as Oak Hill prepares to host the event for a fourth time.

PGA Tour: ‘OOO’ hat among highlights at 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson merchandise tent

Check out the best merchandise of the week, including an “Out of Office” hat that’s perfect for Thursday and Friday PGA Tour tickets

Since the PGA Championship is in the Northeast next week, the field at the AT&T Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch isn’t as strong as it has been in recent years, but there are still storylines galore this week. The Tom Weiskopf design is playing as a par 71 and measures 7,414 yards.

Scottie Scheffler can get back to No. 1 in the world with a victory, and he’s making waves, holding the 36-hole lead at 14 under. Ryan Palmer, a North Texas golf staple, is also in the hunt.
