Georgia football in top schools for St. Thomas Aquinas’s Dallas Turner

The Georgia Bulldogs have made the top schools for St. Thomas Aquinas High School outside linebacker Dallas Turner.

The Georgia Bulldogs have made the top ten for Saint Thomas Aquinas High School outside linebacker Dallas Turner. Turner is a four-star player in the class of 2021.

St. Thomas Aquinas is a storied high school football program. They won the state championship in Florida last season partially thanks to 2020 University of Georgia signee Marcus Rosemy.

Dallas Turner is playing against elite-level competition in high school and will likely do the same in college football. Here are Turner’s top ten schools:

Turner puts Michigan, South Carolina, Penn State, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Ohio State, Miami, Oregon, and Florida in his top ten. Don’t be shocked if Turner heads outside the state of Florida for college. Georgia, Florida, and Alabama are considered the top three schools for Turner at the moment according to 247sports.

Turner is one of three current juniors to make all-state defense as only a junior. It’s even more impressive considering the top level of talent in Florida:

Dawg fans hope Turner will consider being the latest Florida recruit to come north to Athens. He’d be able to practice against Marcus Rosemy again!

Georgia football: Kirby Smart excited about loaded group of WR signees

Georgia football HC Kirby Smart talked about UGA’s loaded group of incoming wide receivers.

After Georgia football landed college football’s No. 1 ranked recruiting class, head coach Kirby Smart spoke with the media about why he recruited each position group the way that he did.

A big reason why Georgia was able to secure the No. 1 class was in part thanks to the signing of five wide receivers, four of them being 4-stars.

We all saw the step back that Georgia football suffered this past season on offense without Mecole Hardman, Terry Godwin, JJ Holloman, Riley Ridley and Isaac Nauta.

Next season Georgia will be without one of its best receivers Lawrence Cager, who shined in 2019 as a grad transfer from Miami before suffering a season ending injury.

Luckily for the Bulldogs, though, Georgia football is in good shape with the return of two five-stars George Pickens and Dominick Blaylock, who are both sure to have big sophomore seasons.

Once Cager was done for the year, it was pretty much Pickens and everyone else. Blaylock did a fine job but did not see enough action.

But there was just no help for Pickens or Blaylock and Smart acknowledged the lack of skill at receiver throughout the 2019 season.

On Wednesday, Smart spoke about the importance of Georgia football landing such a talented class of wide receivers this recruiting cycle.

Wide receiver was an area that we had to address and I’m excited about the wide receivers that we have as additions to this signing class and those guys are expected to help us. With Justin (Robinson) being here now and going through a couple of bowl practices with us, it’s been a big addition to get those guys.”

Robinson was the only one of the five to enroll early in Athens.

Georgia football offers scholarship to four-star offensive tackle

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to 2022 offensive tackle Julian Armella, who plays at St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to 2022 offensive tackle Julian Armella. Armella is a four-star recruit, who plays his high school football at the legendary St. Thomas Aquinas. He’s from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

St. Thomas Aquinas High School has some legendary alumni and current UGA signee Marcus Rosemy. Rosemy is a talented receiver, but he’s far from the only notable player to come out of there. Joey and Nick Bosa, Geno Atkins (who went to Georgia), James White, and NFL legend Michael Irvin are among the NFL products St. Thomas Aquinas has produced over the years. Rosemy and Armella won a state championship in Florida this past season.

Now, the University of Georgia has offered Armella a scholarship. Armella was happy to announce the news via Twitter:

At 6-6, 300 lbs, Armella has the build teams are looking for in an offensive lineman. Will he be the next great lineman to join Matt Luke, Kirby Smart, and UGA?

Georgia is still looking for their first commit in the class of 2022. The Dawgs will look to finish their class of 2020 on a strong note at signing day.

UGA commit Marcus Rosemy dominates state championship

UGA commit Marcus Rosemy is a talented four-star prospect from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He plays at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

The Georgia Bulldogs have big-time help on the way in the form of 2020 wide receiver commitment Marcus Rosemy. Rosemy is a talented four-star prospect from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He plays at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, which won the state championship this past weekend.

Rosemy played a huge role in their state championship win. He scored a sweet touchdown catch in the biggest game at the highest level of Florida High School football:

Rosemy didn’t stop there. He also intercepted a potential touchdown on the game’s final play:

Rosemy will be fun to watch in Athens. Congratulations to him on the state championship. He’ll be a difference-maker as soon as he gets on campus.

The Georgia Bulldogs struggled at the receiver position this past season when compared to elite teams throughout the country. Just look at the stacked receiving cores of all four teams in the College Football Playoffs and the ridiculously talented four wide-outs at Alabama. George Pickens led the Dawgs with 552 receiving yards this season. He’ll be a huge factor and a legitimate number one next season, but he needs a partner in crime in 2020.

Enter Georgia football commit Marcus Rosemy will be a huge factor for Georgia next season. Especially after Dominick Blaylock suffered a torn ACL in the SEC Championship Game against LSU. Blaylock may be healthy by the start of next season (Clemson’s Tee Higgins seems to be just fine after having his season end on a similar note in 2018-2019), but that assumes his recovery and rehabilitation go smooth.

Rosemy is rated as the seventh best receiver in the class of 2020 and has impressive ball skills. He flashes a jump-ball ability similar to that of Lawrence Cager. Rosemy re-assured UGA fans of his commitment after the LSU game:

Rosemy doesn’t have elite Mecole Hardman level speed, but he’s dominated on the high school level. Rosemy shows good after the catch ability and has a decent arm too:

Rosemy will play in the state championship in Florida this weekend for St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

UGA in four-star receiver Marcus Fleming’s top five

The Georgia Bulldogs are in the top five for 2020 receiver Marcus Fleming, who plays football at Miami Northwestern High School.

The Georgia Bulldogs cracked the top five for 2020 wide receiver Marcus Fleming. Fleming hails from Miami, Florida and plays football at traditional powerhouse Northwestern High School. Georgia currently has a top five class of 2020.

Flemming announced his top schools and his commitment date last night:

Georgia will battle with Maryland, Nebraska, Florida, and Florida State for the four-star receiver. Fleming is 5’9″ and 160 pounds, so he’ll look to bulk up before playing in the SEC, ACC, or Big Ten.

Fleming has excellent speed. He visited UGA last week for the Texas A&M game. The Bulldogs already have an elite 2020 receiver commitment from the Miami area in Marcus Rosemy.
