5 Alabama players land inside On3’s top 100 players for the 2023 college football season!

As the clock slowly ticks one day closer at a time toward the start of the college football season, lists continue to drop all over the place.

One such list was dropped earlier on Thursday when On3 released its top 100 players of the 2023 college football season. According to the piece, Charles Powers and Clark Brooks worked together to put together this list in all its glory.

While the list is not as littered as some might expect, Alabama is still very well represented. In total, the Crimson Tide had five players make the top 100 according to On3.

Let’s take a look at who made it and where!

Alabama Football: Projecting stat leaders for the 2023 season

Roll Tide Wire projects which Alabama Football players will lead in each of the major stat categories heading into the 2023 season.

Alabama will have no shortage of talent to choose from for the 2023 season. The Tide brought in five transfers and signed the No. 1 overall recruiting class in the country. Not to mention, the Tide will return several of its key starters from a season ago.

Altogether, Alabama is poised to be a contender in the SEC, and a College Football Playoff hopeful.

With quarterback Bryce Young and outside linebacker Will Anderson Jr. heading to the NFL, Alabama will have to rely on some new faces. Additionally, there could be some other new faces at different positions as well.

Alabama Football: Offensive newcomers who could make an impact this spring

Offensive newcomers who could make an instant impact for Alabama this spring!

Spring football practice is starting to heat up and take center stage for [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

All eyes of the Crimson Tide faithful now will focus on what Alabama will look like in the 2023 football season and the first glimpse that Tide fans will receive will be on April 22 in the annual A-Day game.

Although Alabama finished the 2022-23 season with 11 wins, you get the feeling that coach Saban and Alabama are looking to make a statement this fall.

Alabama will start week three of spring practice on Monday and will conclude the week with the spring’s first scrimmage on Friday.

With all of the hype of football being back in Tuscaloosa, here are some names of newcomers who could make an impact this spring on the offensive side of the ball for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama WR Malik Benson is a name to know during during Spring Football

On3 predicts Malik Benson will be a key contributor for the Tide as a true freshman

There are a lot of unknowns on the offensive side of the ball for the Alabama Crimson Tide heading into spring ball. The quarterback position is the biggest question Nick Saban and company will have to answer after Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young departs for the NFL draft, but that has been expected for a few years.

The wide receiver position is a different story for Alabama because a few players surprisingly departed via the transfer portal. The receiving corps wasn’t necessarily a strong suit in 2022, so there is definitely room for younger guys to crack the lineup. Malik Benson is a name to keep an eye on as the Tide goes through spring ball according to On3.

Benson was the top receiver in the 2023 recruiting cycle and enrolled in classes starting in January. Jermaine Burton’s experience will be very essential for the Tide, but Benson is the guy who can completely change the dynamics of the Alabama offense.

2023 5-star JUCO WR Malik Benson officially signs with Alabama

2023 five-star JUCO wide receiver Malik Benson signed his National Letter of Intent to Alabama on Wednesday. He was the nation’s top-ranked wide receiver prospect.

One of Alabama’s biggest concerns this season was wide receiver production. Although the Tide possessed a lot of talent, it seemed like they lacked a true deep-ball threat. On Wednesday, the Tide officially signed 2023 five-star junior college wide receiver Malik Benson.

Benson is ranked as the No. 1 junior college wide receiver in the country, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He is listed as 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. The Kansas native was a staple at Hutchinson Community College for two seasons in a row.

As a Blue Dragon, he hauled in 102 receptions for 2,206 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. Those numbers are quite impressive considering that Benson helped lead his team to an NJCAA National Championship appearance this season.

Benson will likely be one of the Tide’s top receiving targets next season. His ability to create separation and cause problems on opposing secondaries will help him see the field early and often. The Alabama coaching staff got a gem with Benson jumping on board.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Alabama football and the early signing period as more commits sign their national letters of intent.
