EA Sports has started unveiling Madden 24 ratings, continuing with quarterbacks, linebackers and special teams where notable Bears players Tremaine Edmunds, T.J. Edwards and Justin Fields led the way for Chicago.

Johnny Hekker calls Madden’s long snapper ratings ‘ridiculous’

Panthers P Johnny Hekker wants the folks over at EA Sports to know that long snappers are people, too. #SaveTheSnappers

With the NFL currently ablaze under the burning topic of the depressed running back market, Carolina Panthers punter Johnny Hekker hit Twitter on Friday to take up for another overlooked position. The 12th-year veteran and four-time First-team All-Pro simply wasn’t having it with EA Sports, who weren’t too kind to long snappers in their ratings for “Madden NFL 24.”

Sure, long snappers aren’t exactly the most important players on the field. But Hekker’s got a point.

For one, they don’t even have their own designation on the video game’s official website. Instead of being listed as “LS,” since—ya know—they’re long snappers, they’re categorized as tight ends.

And that 36 rating for JJ Jansen! My goodness!

Apparently, the developers over at EA are unaware of the Iron Man-like durability of Jansen—who just broke the franchise record for most games played. They probably don’t even know about his dual-threat skills as a director either.

Hekker’s right. Save the snappers!

‘Madden NFL 24’ ratings for Panthers middle linebackers revealed

The Panthers are a bit little in middle throughout these “Madden NFL 24” ratings.

Unfortunately for the league’s middle linebackers, the quarterbacks—as usual—commanded the spotlight during Friday’s “Madden NFL 24” ratings reveals. So, we’ll let ’em shine a little here.

Check out the marks for the Carolina Panthers’ backers:

Here are the ‘Madden 24’ ratings for every Broncos cornerback

Broncos star Pat Surtain is the third-best cornerback in ‘Madden NFL 24’ with a 94 overall rating, a big jump from last year (83 overall).

(EA Sports, Madden NFL 24)

EA Sports has been rolling out player ratings for “Madden NFL 24” and we now know the ratings for every Denver Broncos cornerback in this year’s version of the popular video game.

Pat Surtain (94 OVR) is the third-best cornerback in the video game, only trailing Jaire Alexander (95 OVR) and Jalen Ramsey (97 OVR). This marks a huge increase from when Surtain was rated 83 OVR in last year’s game.

Behind Surtain, Denver’s next-best cornerback is K’Waun Williams (76 OVR), followed by Damarri Mathis (72 OVR) and rookie Riley Moss (70 OVR). Veterans Tremon Smith (69 OVR) and Essang Bassey (66 OVR) round out the top six.

EA Sports made a very curious decision to not include Ja’Quan McMillian or Art Green, two young cornerbacks who arguably have better odds to make the 53-man roster than Faion Hicks (64 OVR) or Delonte Hood (61 OVR) this summer.

Jaycee Horn has hilarious reaction to low ‘Madden NFL 24’ rating

Panthers CB Jaycee Horn doesn’t seem to be feeling his “Madden NFL 24” rating.

For many, Jaycee Horn is already one of the very best cornerbacks in the sport. But apparently, the developers over at EA Sports are not amongst the many.

On Thursday, the “Madden NFL 24” ratings for the Carolina Panthers standout and his position group were revealed. The ranks positioned Horn clear out of the spot’s top 20 players, which left the 23-year-old somewhat taken aback . . .

Horn was given an 83 overall rating. That number, at best, makes him the 23rd-ranked cornerback in the upcoming game—as he’s tied with five other players in the all-encompassing category.

This assessment flies in the face of the league-wide perception of Horn, who is considered a top-10 talent by quite a few evaluators and media members. Our own Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire, in fact, ranked the former eighth overall pick as the NFL’s fifth-best cornerback on his recent list.

Nonetheless, Horn doesn’t seem to have any really hard feelings about it . . .

‘Madden NFL 24’ ratings for Panthers cornerbacks revealed

The “Madden NFL 24” ratings for the Panthers’ cornerbacks were rolled out on Thursday.

One of the biggest questions marks for the Carolina Panthers in 2023 is the cornerback position. Between injuries to their starters in Jaycee Horn and Donte Jackson and a lack of discernible depth, they don’t exactly boast the most trustworthy of groups in the NFL.

But, can you trust them on the sticks?

Here are the “Madden NFL 24” ratings for the Carolina corners:
