See where Hannah Hidalgo ranks.

Notre Dame got an early Christmas present this year in freshman phenom [autotag]Hannah Hidalgo[/autotag]. She not only is the national steals leader, but she’s among the top scorers in the country. At this point, one only can imagine what her Irish legacy will be by the time she’s through in South Bend. In the meantime, here’s how she ranks among those scoring leaders and how their steals averages compare with hers:

Ohio State finally gets a commitment from a transfer portal offensive lineman

The Buckeyes get an addition to their offensive line #GoBucks

The [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] team’s search for a transfer portal offensive lineman to help fill three vacant spots had come up empty until Wednesday. [autotag]Louisiana-Monroe[/autotag] offensive lineman [autotag]Victor Cutler[/autotag] ended the drought by committing to the Buckeyes.

The 6-foot, 2-inch, 280-pound guard will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. This is a very interesting addition because offensive guard is the only position along the line with returning starters, [autotag]Matthew Jones[/autotag] and[autotag]Donovan Jackson[/autotag].

Could one of them move inside and play center? That is a real possibility, but we will find out much more when spring practice begins and reports of what the offensive line looks like emerge. None of these three have the length teams are looking for at tackle, so it’s unlikely one of them moves to the outside of the line.

Texas WR Agiye Hall will be active in season opener vs. Louisiana-Monroe

It’s unclear how much playing time he will receive and/or when, but very positive news for the Longhorns.

Texas officially kicks off the 2022 college football game on Saturday evening against Louisiana-Monroe. Continue reading “Texas WR Agiye Hall will be active in season opener vs. Louisiana-Monroe”

PREVIEW: No. 18 Texas Longhorns vs. Louisiana Monroe Warhawks

How will Texas fare in Quinn Ewers’ first start?

The Texas Longhorns will take the field against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks Saturday night. The game will present an opportunity to erase last year’s struggles from players’ minds.

Terry Bowden begins a second season for Louisiana-Monroe after similar adversity in his first year. The Warhawks finished the season with a 4-8 record in 2021. Albeit, their struggles were not for lack of efficient quarterback play.

Rising sophomore Chandler Rodgers will lead the offense for a first full season this year. Rodgers finished third in the Sun Belt in completion percentage, connecting on 62.6 percent of his passing attempts.

Rodgers figures to have a strong option for a primary target in senior receiver Boogie Knight. Knight had 45 catches for 588 receiving yards. If the Longhorns were to game plan to take away a player, the veteran receiver may be the most dangerous threat.

Let’s look at how the game could play out for both teams.
