On Wednesday, a battle between Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers will headline the NBA’s Western Conference play-in tournament. Cruising into the play-in game, the Warriors are riding a six-game winning streak to close the season behind a furious run from Steph Curry.
The seven-time All-Star guard has tallied 30 or more points in 21 of his last 24 games to secure the 2020-21 scoring title, averaging 32 points per contest on 48.3% shooting from the field. Before inking the No. 8 seed in the play-in game, Curry finished the season with a scorching 46 point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies.
In a star-studded battle in Hollywood, Curry will stand across from long-time Golden State rival LeBron James. While the defending champs pose a serious threat to the Warriors’ run at the postseason, James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers are coming off a season riddled with injuries.
However, heading into the play-in game, the Lakers will likely boast a healthy rotation led by one of the association’s best duos.
Wednesday’s tilt at Staples Center has the potential to open another chapter in James and Curry’s storied saga.
