Auburn is ‘making a push’ for UCF TE commit Kylan Fox

Auburn is looking to flip another blue-ship recruit and this time its from a former head coach.

Auburn already has one tight end commit in [autotag]Martavious Collins[/autotag] but the Tigers have been looking for a second to pair with him and they may have found their guy.

[autotag]Kylan Fox[/autotag] is a four-star prospect and despite committing to [autotag]Gus Malzahn[/autotag] and UCF back in July, other programs never stopped recruiting him and it’s now Auburn’s turn.

According to On3’s Chad Simmons, the Tigers are “making a push for Fox” and “UCF is still the team to beat, but things are heating up with Auburn.”

While it is always hard to flip a player, [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and his staff have shown a knack for it and they will have several chances to make their pitch to the 6-foot-5, 202-pounder. He is set to officially visit the Plains on Oct. 21 to watch Auburn play Ole Miss and will officially visit for the Iron Bowl on Nov. 25, per Simmons.

Fox is the No. 359 overall player and No. 22 tight end in the On3 industry ranking. The Loganville product is also the No. 39 player from Georgia.

Nephew of former Ohio State star puts Ohio State in trimmed list

Ohio State hoping to stay close to another recruit from down south. #GoBucks

Ohio State football is getting some love this Valentine’s Day from a top-100 prospect. Booker Pickett named his top nine schools and included the Buckeyes.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Booker’s uncle, Ryan Pickett, starred in Columbus in the late 90s thru 2000. Ryan was a load on the Buckeye defensive line and a first-round NFL draft selection by the St. Louis Rams. He played 14 seasons in the league with the Rams, Packers and Texans, winning a Super Bowl with Green Bay in 2011.

Booker said he believes “the Buckeyes are building something special. … I know I’ll get developed there.” Pickett is the No. 6 edge rusher in the 2024 class on the 247Sports composite.

Others on Pickett’s short list are Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami (Florida), Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee and USC.

Ryan Day and the Buckeye coaching staff are working hard to land the next round of recruits at Ohio State. We’ll keep you up to speed as things develop with the next wave of young men ready to wear the scarlet and gray.

2024 ATH Kylan Fox lists Alabama as a finalist in his recruitment

2024 prospect Kylan Fox listed Alabama in his top-15 on Sunday. He received an offer from the Tide in June.

One position that the Alabama coaching staff will likely place an emphasis on in the 2024 recruiting cycle is the tight end. With the recent hiring of Tommy Rees as offensive coordinator, it seems like the Tide might return to being a run-heavy offense. That was the case for Rees’ offenses at Notre Dame.

One prospect that could be implemented as both a run blocker and pass catcher is 2024 athlete Kylan Fox. He recently listed Alabama as a finalist in his recruitment on Sunday.

The product of Grayson High School has the frame to be a tight end in Alabama’s system at 6-foot-4, 208 pounds. Fox put his skillset on display during his junior year when he hauled in 25 receptions for 326 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

One of the more interesting things to note is the fact that Georgia did not make the top-15 for Fox, even though he took four trips to Athens. He has been to Tuscaloosa twice and will likely return at some point during his senior season.

Roll Tide Wire breaks down Kylan Fox’s recruiting profile.

Ohio State on short list for four-star tight end

The Ohio State football team has made the trimmed list for one of the best tight ends in the country. Kylan Fox of Loganville, Georgia, cut his list of suitors to 15 in honor of his grandmother’s birthday. He posted the finalists on his personal Twitter account.

Fox is the No. 10 athlete in the country according to 247Sports composite and is a top 100 prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. Fox stands 6 feet,  4 inches and a little more than 200 pounds. With that build, he will have options heading into the college arena.

Others on his list are a who’s who of college football, including Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami (FL), North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Stanford and Tennessee.

Recruiting Superstar: 4-star Athlete with 60 offers names his top 15 schools

The most popular recruit in the entire class of 2024 may be Grayson (Ga.) four-star Athlete Kylan Fox.

One of the most popular recruits in the class of 2024 is Grayson (Ga.) four-star Athlete Kylan Fox.

It’s not unusual for the nation’s top-ranked high school football players to receive offers from a couple dozen Power 5 programs. However, according to On3, Fox has already gotten offers from 60 different schools so far.

That’s a lot of teams to choose from, but Fox is working on narrowing his choices down. Yesterday, Fox shared his top 15 schools on Twitter. The list includes Florida State, Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio State, Miami, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Auburn, Louisville, Stanford, North Carolina, Cincinnati and Mississippi.

It’s not hard to see why so many programs are interested. Fox (6-foot-4, 208 pounds) is one of the most versatile players in the country, splitting his time at tight end as well as defensive end. 247Sports ranks him in the top 10 at his position and No. 87 overall in his class.

There is no clear favorite to land Fox as of yet, but for now Georgia (17.4%) and Georgia Tech (11.5%) are in the lead, per On3’s prediction model. For what it’s worth, his Twitter likes seem to lean towards Colorado.

Tennessee makes top 15 for 4-star tight end Kylan Fox

Tennessee is one of 15 teams for four-star tight end Kylan Fox. Fox is the No. 8 tight end in the class of 2024.

Four-star tight end Kylan Fox announced his top 15 schools on Sunday.

Tennessee, Alabama, Florida State, Colorado, Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Auburn, Stanford, Louisville, North Carolina, Cincinnati and Ole Miss are Fox’s top 15.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound tight end is from Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia.

Fox is the No. 183 overall player in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 8 tight end and the No. 29 player in the state of Georgia, according to the On3 Sports consensus.

He played tight end and defensive end last season for Grayson. Fox finished the 2022 season with 326 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Fox has taken two unofficial visits to Tennessee. His first visit was for the 2022 spring game and he returned this season on homecoming weekend as the Vols defeated UT Martin, 65-24.

Gators hosting this 4-star TE on first visit to the Swamp

This four-star Peach State tight is planning has locked in a date for his first unofficial visit with the Florida Gators.

Florida will host four-star Grayson (Georgia) tight end [autotag]Kylan Fox[/autotag] on an unofficial visit Jan. 21, according to a social media post he made Thursday morning.

Billy Napier’s staff offered Fox back in June, but Florida wasn’t considered a major contender for him leading up to a Dec. 17 commitment date. The Gators now have another shot to compete for him after Fox pushed back his  commitment date indefinitely, and the team has kept up with him enough to warrant consideration

“Ever since Coach Napier was hired, the constant contact with the new coaches has been good,” Fox said to Gators Online. “Coach (William) Peagler hits me up every other day and I think that’s big when building a relationship. This will be my first time on campus, so I’ll get to see what it’s like in Gainesville.”

On Monday, Fox announced that he’d be visiting Colorado on Jan. 21, but something obviously changed his mind and schedule. Whether it was pressure from Florida to visit or just a personal decision, it’s one that favors the Gators.

Fox was supposed to decide on Dec. 17 but backed off his self-imposed commitment date just over a week out from the big day. He cited coaching changes at the time, but Florida hasn’t lost anyone that Fox is in contact with so that likely doesn’t hurt the Gators’ chances.

Aside from Florida, he’s considering Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, NC State, Ohio State and South Carolina. The On3 recruiting prediction machine favors Georgia with 17.5% odds to land him and has Georgia Tech at No. 2 with 11.6%. Clearly, the RPM believes that Fox prefers to stay home, but Florida isn’t too far from Georgia.

247Sports ranks Fox inside their top 100 overall prospects in the class of 2024 at No. 87 but that number slips to No. 193 on the composite rankings. The On3 consensus agrees with the latter assessment, ranking Fox at No. 183 overall and at No. 8 among tight ends in the class.

247Sports views Fox as an athlete since he has offers on both sides of the ball, so he’s only No. 24 among multi-position players on the composite rankings.

4-star Peach State TE lines up return visit to Clemson next month

Clemson has stayed in contact with a standout Peach State athlete since he visited for the  Tigers’ underclassmen day on March 12.

Tight ends coach Kyle Richardson personally invited Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) four-star Kylan Fox to come camp at Clemson this summer. Fox — a 6-foot-5, 215-pound sophomore in the 2024 class — said that he would “definitely” be camping at Clemson come June 2.

While Fox spent a significant amount of his time with defensive ends coach Lemanski Hall, Clemson has since warmed up to the idea of him playing tight end at the next level.

“I think they’ve switched gears with me as far as my position,” he told The Clemson Insider Sunday. “With them inviting me to camp as a tight end, I feel like they think there’s more potential with me at the tight end position.”

You have to keep in mind that Fox is only a rising junior and he’ll likely find his permanent home on the field as time goes on. As of right now, it doesn’t matter to Fox where he plays on the field. He just wants to see how he develops before he even thinks about where he’ll play at the next level.

When he camps at Clemson in just over three weeks, Fox said that it’s his goal to impress the coaching staff, earn an offer, and hopefully have the chance to play for Clemson coach Dabo Swinney.

“That would be big for me because — as you know — they don’t start recruiting hard until you’re a junior,” Fox said regarding earning a potential offer. “Getting an offer early from them would be good.”

Right now, Fox is expecting that Clemson co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Mickey Conn will be at his old stomping grounds on Tuesday. Conn, who served as Grayson’s head coach for 16 seasons, will be at the Georgia-based high school as he makes his rounds on the recruiting trail during the evaluation period.

Grayson kicked off spring practice this past Thursday.

“It felt good man,” Fox said. “I feel like this year, we have a great shot of winning the state title.”

Fox has seen his recruitment blow up over the past couple of months. Since he visited Clemson in mid-march, he’s earned offers from schools like Coastal Carolina, Duke, N.C. State, Georgia Tech, USF, Vanderbilt, Jackson State, Western Kentucky, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Campbell, Auburn and Alabama State.

“As soon as spring ball is over, I’ll kind of have an idea of where I want to visit this summer,” he said.

This summer will be a great opportunity for Fox to add to his list of offers. In addition to Clemson, he’ll be camping at the University of Alabama on June 1. Fox will also be going to a private workout at the University of Georgia.
