Kola Bokinni and Cristo Fernández from Ted Lasso surprised Dolphins fans by announcing a Miami draft pick

Ted Lasso and the 2023 NFL Draft collided on Saturday.

Two members of the Ted Lasso cast traded actual football for American football on Saturday as they announced a 2023 NFL Draft pick.

Actors Kola Bokinni (Isaac McAdoo) and Cristo Fernández (Dani Rojas) sported Miami Dolphins kits while standing in an empty Tottenham Spurs Stadium as they announced Miami’s selection of Stanford tight end Elijah Higgins.

As Ted Lasso winds down its final season, fans were likely delighted to see these show stars in a setting where you might not normally expect them to be.

As for Higgins, well, if he’s a Ted Lasso fan, this is a heck of a way to see your draft selection announced on live television.

It’s always fun in the NFL Draft’s later rounds for surprises like this to pop up, and it’s doubly fun for Ted Lasso fans to see two of AFC Richmond’s finest announcing a pick.

While we know Ted Lasso himself is a Kansas City Chiefs fan, this is also a pretty cool moment for the Dolphins.

Jason Sudeikis and Ted Lasso stars sat courtside for Knicks-Nuggets at Madison Square Garden

AFC Richmond, meet the NBA.

Four stars from Ted Lasso took a break from promoting the new season to take in an NBA game on Saturday.

Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), Toheeb Jimoh (Sam Obisanya) and Kola Bokinni (Isaac McAdoo) were courtside at Madison Square Garden for the day’s New York Knicks/Denver Nuggets game.

It’s always good to get a break from the pitch when you’re AFC Richmond, and it’s even better when you can watch two of the best teams in the NBA in the Nuggets and the Knicks.

It’s all smiles for the Ted Lasso cast as they took in a marquee NBA game.

Could this inspire a Ted Lasso spinoff where Coach Lasso and Coach Beard leave AFC Richmond to take over a basketball team somewhere?

Well, if so, the two unlikely soccer coaches picked a good game to learn from!

Season three of the Emmy-winning AppleTV+ show is now streaming.
