Stock Up Stock Down from second Senior Bowl National practice

The second day of practice had more standouts than disappointing performances. @TheRealForno breaks it all down.

The second day of Senior Bowl practice is complete and there are a lot of things to talk about.

After the quarterbacks struggled on the first day as a whole, there were some significant areas of improvement. The two quarterbacks that threw on the first day of practice played much better and we had a standout at wide receiver as well.

After day two of practice, here are the players who saw their stock rise and fall.

Stock up, stock down from Senior Bowl National team practice

The National team had some standouts on Tuesday afternoon’s first practice. @TheRealForno breaks down his biggest risers and fallers

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is a place where all 32 teams and numerous members of the media congregate to look at the best senior NFL draft prospects. The Minnesota Vikings have a contingent down there and are trying to gather information to help them make more informed draft decisions.

During the week, it’s all about practice and seeing how the players match up against their equals and see how they handle drills. After the first day of practice, here are 10 guys that saw their stock go up and down on Tuesday.

2023 Senior Bowl Preview: Edge Rushers

We continue our Senior Bowl preview series with the edge rushers

One of the most important events on the National Football League calendar is the Senior Bowl. Held the week after the conference championship games, it is the true beginning of the NFL draft cycle.

Not only do scouts and analysts like us get to see over 100 draft prospects in one place competing against each other, but it’s also an opportunity for analysts and personnel alike to get together and have discussions about a number of topics.

As we look forward to this year’s Senior Bowl, both managing editor Tyler Forness and columnist Matt Anderson will be there in person to break everything down.

We will be breaking down each position group and what to look for throughout the week. Here is the edge rusher position.

2023 NFL mock draft: ESPN’s Mel Kiper sends a new name to Bucs in 1st round

See who ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. sends to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in his latest 2023 NFL mock draft

Mock draft season is already in full swing, as the 2023 NFL draft process continues to ramp up.

The latest projection from ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. sends a surprise name to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round: Georgia Tech defensive lineman Keion White.

Here’s what Kiper had to say about the selection:

The Bucs could be in for an offseason of change, depending on what the NFL’s greatest quarterback decides. We already know they’ll have a new-look offense with coordinator Byron Leftwich getting fired. And even with concerns along the offensive line, I’m looking at the end spot in Todd Bowles’ 3-4 defense as their top need with Akiem Hicks and William Gholston both hitting the free agent market. Yes, 2022 second-rounder Logan Hall will get snaps on one side next season, but if they can add a starter here, why not do it?

White dominated at Old Dominion before he transferred to Georgia Tech in 2021. He missed most of that season with an ankle injury but had a dominant 2022, with 7.5 sacks and 57 total tackles. He’s another inside-outside lineman who would bring some interior pass-rush ability to Tampa. White will be at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, next week, and I know scouts are excited to see him up close.

It’s hard to go wrong projecting any defensive position to the Bucs in this year’s first round, considering what they’re set to lose in free agency. Outside of Vita Vea and 2022 second-round pick Logan Ryan, pretty much the entire defensive line group is headed for the open market this offseason.

White is one of this year’s more intriguing interior defenders in the draft, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him move up the board in the coming weeks with a strong performance at the Senior Bowl, as well as the NFL Scouting Combine.

If that happens, a top-20 slot shouldn’t be out of the question, and there’s no denying he could fit a big need in Tampa Bay.

Chargers 2023 NFL draft target: Georgia Tech EDGE Keion White

Putting Georgia Tech EDGE Keion White under a microscope to highlight his strengths, weaknesses and fit with the Chargers.

Draft season is upon us, which means that we at Chargers Wire are hard at work breaking down the film to evaluate potential picks throughout the draft.

With a strong draft class at edge defender and tight end, Los Angeles is well-positioned to fill some holes this offseason.

Today, we’ll be looking at Georgia Tech pass rusher Keion White.

Background: Lightly recruited out of high school until he moved from center to tight end and defensive end. Began college career at Old Dominion as a tight end, where he redshirted in 2017 before catching 11 passes for 124 yards in 2018. Transitioned to EDGE during spring practice in 2019 and immediately was named Second Team All-Conference USA. Opted out in 2020 due to COVID-19 before transferring to Georgia Tech, where his debut was delayed after a broken ankle in a pickup basketball game. Frequently describes himself as raw due to his newness to the position. Team captain.

Red Flags: None

Strengths: Feldman’s Freak List member with a rumored 21 mph, 32″ vertical, and 38 bench press reps on his resume. Moved from 3 to 4i to 5 and out throughout the season, versatility which helped allow Georgia Tech to shift their alignments right before the snap to scheme pressures open. Thought he moved well in pursuit; you can tell he’s a freaky athlete for his size based on his run support alone. Showed a nice spin move that I think he could build a counter plan around.

Weaknesses: Extremely raw from a pass rush plan perspective – has a bull rush and high motor that gets him home often enough, but he rarely shows a counter move off power to quicken the pace. Also lacks variety in his approach – you’re getting power, power, or power from him off the snap. Sometimes a bit late to read and react, which is to be expected for someone who’s only played defensive line for two and a half seasons.

Final Word: White is a developmental prospect who will need dedicated coaching from an established developer to round out his technique and hit his ceiling. While all the athletic tools are there to create a monstrous 4-3 defensive end with interior flexibility, White lacks refined technique or counter plans when his strength isn’t enough to win him a rep.

Fit Likelihood: Medium

Grade: 4th

Film Highlights:

White using the power in his hands to get off blocks in a number of different clips, showcasing the consistency with which he can win.

Showing off the spin move, which is surprisingly fluid for a player listed at 290 lbs:
