Texas at Kansas: How To Watch, Listen and Stream

The Texas Longhorns travel to Lawrence, Kansas to take on The Jayhawks on Monday Night. Here is how you can watch, listen and stream.

The Texas Longhorns are back on the hardwood on Monday night as they had to Lawrence for a rematch with the third ranked Kansas Jayhawks. In their last game, Texas kept it close for most of the game before Kansas did just enough to pull off the win in Austin. Now it is the Longhorns turn to take one on the road. The Longhorns come into the game on a two-game winning streak after victories over TCU and Iowa State.

The Jayhawks look to remain in the number two spot as they look to take back over the number spot in the Big 12. Winners of six-straight games since their only conference loss to number one ranked Baylor.

The Texas Longhorns begin a brutal three-game stretch that will either make or break their season starting with Kansas. Here is how you can watch, listen, and stream Texas basketball as they take on the Kansas Jayhawks.

Texas Tech at Kansas college basketball odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Saturday’s Texas Tech Red Raiders at Kansas Jayhawks sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (13-7) visit the Kansas Jayhawks (17-3) Saturday afternoon for a 4 p.m. ET tip-off in a Big 12 battle at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence. We analyze the Texas Tech-Kansas odds and betting lines, with college basketball betting advice and tips around this matchup.

Texas Tech at Kansas: Three things you need to know

1. The Jayhawks, ranked third in the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll, have won five straight games and eight of their last nine. A staunch Kansas defense has held opponents to 60 or fewer points in eight of those nine games. Over that stretch, the Jayhawks have held foes to a 37% field-goal percentage while rebounding at an average margin of plus-5.

2. Texas Tech F Kevin McCullar is questionable (concussion) for this one. McCullar is TTU’s third-leading rebounder. Kansas already has a substantial rebounding edge in the game, and the Red Raiders can ill-afford a big-man injury and/or foul trouble.

3. The Red Raiders were at home their last two games. Texas Tech is 0-3 ATS the last three times they have played away from home after multiple games in Lubbock.

Prediction

Kansas 70, Texas Tech 61

Moneyline (ML)

Kansas (-455) is a line with some value baked in. Kansas can score in such a variety of ways — from 24 feet and in and including uncontested 15-footers — and some computer ratings give the Jayhawks a 12-to-16-point edge in this late-afternoon tilt at Allen Fieldhouse. An expected slow pace favors the talent on the floor, and in that department, Kansas is loaded.

Take the -455 here with the value being that the Jayhawks have an 82% chance to win outright by any total.

Against the Spread (ATS)

The Red Raiders are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games against a team with a winning home record. Texas Tech is 2-6 ATS over their last eight games following a straight-up win.

KANSAS (-8.5, -115) is worth a line watch in conjunction with the above. The ATS number had some fluidity early. If it goes down to 8-or-lower, some half-and-half action is advisable.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Under is 14-5 when Kansas is favored and 6-4 in TTU games against winning teams. The UNDER 131.5 (-110) is a respectable number, though. There isn’t enough projectable leeway south of that figure to allow for some profit margin.

Kansas State at Kansas college basketball odds, picks and best bets

Kansas State at Kansas: Three things you need to know

1. Since Bruce Weber’s first year as Kansas State’s head coach (2012-13), these two teams have played 17 games and the Jayhawks are 14-3 with eight double-digit wins.

2. Kansas State has lost 13 consecutive games in Kansas.

3. Kansas State beat Kansas in its first head-to-head meeting last season, 74-67, but three starters from that squad are no longer on the roster.

Prediction

Kansas 71, Kansas State 52

Moneyline (ML)

Unless you have insider information or really feel like gambling, this moneyline is absolutely a stay away. The Wildcats are 1-3 on the road this season, while the Jayhawks are 6-1 in home games, so Kansas winning outright is the most logical outcome. Kansas State’s +1150 price point isn’t nearly steep enough to justify backing the Wildcats and their 8% probability of stealing a road victory over the Jayhawks. And you cannot bet $3,333 on a Kansas victory to earn just a $100 profit.

PASS ON THE MONEYLINE.

Against the Spread (ATS)

I’m going to lay the frighteningly large number and BET KANSAS -16 (-121) to win by at least 17 points. The Jayhawks have proven their mettle thus far in the season as they are the third-ranked team in the nation despite playing the toughest schedule. Kansas has been much better against the spread this season; the Jayhawks are 10-6 ATS while the Wildcats are just 6-11 ATS.

Also, there are too many edges in Kansas’ favor to back the underdog:

  • Kansas ranks 16th in the nation in opponent points per game and Kansas State ranks 308th in PPG.
  • Kansas is 12th in opponent field-goal percentage; Kansas State is 234th in field goal percentage.
  • Kansas does a great job keeping opponents off the glass (ranked 31st in opponent rebounds per game) and Kansas State is 301st in the nation in rebounds per game.

Over/Under (O/U)

I LEAN not likeUNDER 126 (+100) because we are laying such a big number with Kansas -16 and it’s tough to ask for a landslide to go Under the total. But, Kansas has a 4-12 Over/Under record on the season, the Under is 7-0 in the Jayhawks’ last seven games as a favorite and the Wildcats have a 1-6 O/U record in their last seven road games.

Three reasons why Oklahoma lost to No. 7 Kansas 66-52

Top Daug’s return wasn’t valiant enough for Oklahoma on Tuesday night. Here are three reasons why Oklahoma got beat by Kansas.

Top Daug’s return wasn’t valiant enough for Oklahoma on Tuesday night.

The Sooners struggled much of the night on their way to a 66-52 loss against No. 7 Kansas at home.

Here are three reasons why Oklahoma got beat by the Jayhawks.

Rough night from big three

Oklahoma is one of those unique teams where the Sooners have three scorers in the top-10 of scoring in the Big 12.

The trio of Kristian Doolittle, Austin Reaves and Brady Manek combined for 10-of-43 from the field and 27 points. Going to be tough for Oklahoma to win any game in the Big 12 when those three shoot like that.

3-point shooting

Kansas got what it wanted defensively.

Head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks forced everything out from the lane with the help of the presence of Udoka Azuibuike inside. That gave Oklahoma opportunities to get shots from the 3-point line.

The Sooners responded by shooting 8-of-29 from beyond the arc for 28 percent overall.

STOPPING MOSS

The Jayhawks were without its best player.

Devon Dotson has been the heart beat of Kansas for all of the 2019-20 season. In his absence, Isaiah Moss got his first start.

Moss answered the call, scoring 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 6-of-11 from 3-point range. He hit big shot after shot when Oklahoma looked to start gaining momentum in the game.

WATCH: Old Oklahoma basketball mascot Top Daug returns before Kansas game

Allow him to reintroduce himself.

Oklahoma basketball has officially reintroduced former mascot Top Daug ahead of its game against Kansas.

Allow him to reintroduce himself.

Oklahoma basketball has officially reintroduced former mascot Top Daug ahead of its big, nationally televised Big 12 game against No. 7 Kansas.

The dog mascot rose to its prominence during the Billy Tubbs’ Era in the 1980s and 1990s. Top Daug was a fan favorite of many prior to the mascot’s retirement after the 2004-05 season. He was fun, crazy and reckless that got the crowds attending Oklahoma games going.

Oklahoma’s pony mascots ‘Boomer’ and ‘Sooner’ will still be used, as will Top Daug.

The Sooners, No. 7 Kansas and Oklahoma’s dog are about to tip-off on ESPN in a Big 12 clash with a lot of implications.

Kansas will reportedly be without starting point guard Devon Dotson against Oklahoma

Oklahoma basketball got a little bit of help ahead of its big game against No. 7 Kansas. Devon Dotson is reportedly out for the game.

Oklahoma basketball got a little bit of help ahead of its big game against No. 7 Kansas.

The Jayhawks starting point guard, Devon Dotson, exited in the second half of Kansas’ 67-55 loss against Baylor on Saturday with a hip injury.

“He was in obvious pain (and) didn’t move very well,” said Kansas head coach Bill Self to reporters after the loss. “He hurt it in the first half, if I’m not mistaken, but I could be wrong. But, yeah, he’s got a hip pointer and so we’ll see how he progresses in the next couple of days.”

That injury has since lingered, reportedly keeping him out of Tuesday night’s contest against Oklahoma.

Dotson tested the NBA waters after his freshman season a year ago before returning to Kansas this season.

He has increased his scoring from 12.3 points per game as a freshman to 18.0 points per game as a sophomore. Dotson has added 4.4 assists and 2.3 steals a game this season. He leads Kansas in all three categories.

Self told reporters on Monday that Dotson would play in the game.

Matt Tait of the Lawrence Journal-World reports that senior guard Isaiah Moss will likely start in Dotson’s place. Moss is averaging 7.4 points per game and .6 assists per game this season.

Oklahoma has no injury issues heading into Tuesday night’s game.

The Sooners and No. 7 Kansas will tip-off from Norman, Oklahoma, at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Kansas Jayhawks at Oklahoma Sooners odds, picks and best bets

Analyzing Tuesday’s Kansas Jayhawks at Oklahoma Sooners sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks and tips.

The Kansas Jayhawks (12-3, 2-1 Big 12) visit Norman, Okla., Tuesday for a 9 p.m. ET tip-off against the Oklahoma Sooners (11-4, 2-1) at the Lloyd Noble Center. We analyze the Kansas-Oklahoma odds and betting lines, with college basketball betting advice and tips around this matchup.

The Jayhawks are ranked seventh in the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball coaches poll, but have lost three games in a row.

Kansas at Oklahoma: Three things you need to know

1. Both teams are coming off disappointing losses:  Kansas lost 67-55 to then-No. 4 Baylor at home, while Oklahoma fell at Iowa State 81-68.

2. The home team has won five in a row in the Kansas-Oklahoma series and eight out of their last 10 games.

3. Since 2015, Kansas has by far the best record against ranked opponents (35-18), while Oklahoma is just 18-25 vs. ranked opponents.

Prediction

Kansas 69, Oklahoma 60

Moneyline (ML)

Kansas is ranked 18th in the country in opponent’s field-goal percentage and the Sooners are ranked 215th in offensive FG%. Oklahoma is even worse from deep, ranking 254th in 3-point %, and Kansas ranks 52nd in opponents 3-point %. But Kansas’ -250 on the moneyline is crummy value and, because of its elite defense and Oklahoma’s lackluster offense, but I don’t like the Sooners’ +200 either. PASS on the moneyline.

Against the Spread (ATS)

Despite an 11-4 overall record, Oklahoma has been bad against the spread this season with a 5-10 ATS mark. The Sooners haven’t taken advantage of home-court advantage lately either as they’re 0-6 ATS in the last six home games. Also, Oklahoma doesn’t play well against good competition; its ATS record is 1-5 (0-3 at home) vs. teams above .500. However, Kansas is 2-0 ATS when laying 5-7 points and are 2-1 ATS against teams above .500. Take KANSAS (-6.5, +105).

Over/Under (O/U)

Trends and each team’s Over/Under record – Kansas is 4-10 O/U and Oklahoma is 7-8 – dictate betting UNDER 139.5 (-134). The Under is 5-0 in Kansas’s last five games, 6-0 in its last six games as a road favorite and 3-0 in road games this season. Oklahoma’s home games tend to play Under as well, going 2-4. It might be a lot of vig to swallow at -134, but that’s BetMGM trying to price you out of betting a likely outcome.

Large buyout may keep Texas from hiring new WR coach

There has been speculation about Kansas wide receiver coach Emmett Jones. The only issue is that UT is not prepared to buy a large buyout.

After the regular season ended, Texas fired wide receivers coach Drew Mehringer after three seasons with the Longhorns. A few weeks later and the position still has not been filled. There has been speculation about Kansas wide receiver coach Emmett Jones joining Tom Herman’s staff, but there may be an issue.

According to Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman, Texas is not excited about the possibility of paying a large buyout for Jones. He is also reporting that the buyout is set at $225,000. Because of this, the Longhorns may pass on him and go in a different direction to find their wide receivers coach.

After working for local DFW high schools for nearly 13 years, Jones got a role in Kliff Kingsbury staff at Texas Tech in 2015. After one year as a player developer, he was promoted to wide receivers coach. After Kingsbury was fired from Texas Texas, Jones ended up at Kansas, working for head coach Les Miles and his staff.

Kansas at Iowa State odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Wednesday’s Kansas Jayhawks vs. Iowa State Cyclones sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks and tips.

The Kansas Jayhawks (11-2, 1-0 Big 12) and Iowa State Cyclones (7-6, 0-1 Big 12) meet at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday. We analyze the Kansas-Iowa State odds and betting lines, while providing college basketball betting tips and advice on this matchup.

The Jayhawks are ranked third in the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball coaches poll.

Kansas at Iowa State: Three things you need to know

1. Kansas enters play 6-2 ATS in the past eight games overall, and 5-2 ATS in the past seven against teams with a winning overall record. However, it’s just 3-10 ATS in the past 13 games on the road.

2. Iowa State is 2-6 ATS in the past eight games against teams with a winning overall record, and is 0-5 ATS in the previous five as a home underdog.

3. The Jayhawks enter this game third in the nation in field-goal percentage at 50.9, led by F Udoka Azubuike at a ridiculous 81.1 percent (77-for-95). They’re 16th defensively with a 37.3 FG% against.

Prediction

Kansas 80, Iowa State 73

Moneyline (ML)

AVOID. Kansas (-286) will cost you nearly three times your return on investment, which just isn’t a good way to consistently win. For example, if you win three of these type bets and lose one, you end up about even. Why risk it? PASS and focus on the spread (below).

Against the Spread (ATS)

KANSAS (-6.5, -110) is a much better play laying the points over Iowa State (+6.5, -110). Not only has the road team cashed in six of the past eight in this series, which points to KU, the Cyclones are 2-6 ATS in the eight tries against winning teams and barely above .500 overall on the season.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 146 (-110) is the way to go here. Kansas has a very efficient offense, not taking a lot of bad shots while limiting turnovers. But, the Under is 7-3 in the Jayhawks’ past 10 overall. However, the Over is 5-1 in their past six against winning teams.

For Iowa State, it’s all Over, all the time. The Over is 7-1 in the Cyclones’ past eight as a home ‘dog, and 5-1 in the past six against teams with a winning record. The Over is also 3-0-1 in their past four following a straight-up loss.
