Joshua Langford has now eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in Michigan State’s home game against Penn State. A huge accomplishment for Langford.

Coming into tonight’s game against Penn State, Josh Langford was only five points away from eclipsing the 1,000 career point mark. With five points, on 2-of-6 shooting in the first half, Langford hit the thousand mark.

The career achievement was surpassed on a three-point bucket made by Langford with 4:14 remaining in the first half.

Langford was a member of a star-studded 2016 recruiting class, which now has all four members of it in the 1,000 point club.

The Spartans are looking to close out Penn State for their 10th win of the season and second in a row.

Michigan State Basketball vs. Rutgers: Where to Watch, Game Preview & Prediction

Michigan State is back on the hardwood for a game against Rutgers. The Spartans are coming off a nearly three-week layoff.

The Spartans left their fan base with a horrible taste in their mouths, blowing a 17-point lead before losing to Purdue 55-54, 19 days ago. A couple of days later, a COVID outbreak within the program caused a shutdown, postponing their next three games.

The Spartans will finally return to the hardwood on Thursday, hoping to bounce back after the tough loss to the Boilermakers.

Michigan State will be traveling to Piscataway, New Jersey, for a game at the RAC against Rutgers. The two teams met on January 5th, with the Spartans blowing out the Scarlet Knights, 68-45.

Let’s take a look at this rematch between Michigan State and Rutgers, with game details, things to watch, and my prediction for the contest.

Aaron Henry comes alive to lead Spartans past Nebraska, 84-77

Michigan State has earned their first win of the Big Ten season, defeating Nebraska 84-77 in Lincoln.

The Spartans have earned their first Big Ten win of the season behind 27 points from Aaron Henry, defeating Nebraska 84-77.

Michigan State came into the contest dropping three straight in Big Ten play to open the 2020-21 conference season. Tom Izzo’s squad has needed a jolt and the junior Henry gave the Spartans exactly what they needed.

Michigan State and Nebraska kept pace with one another for the majority of the first half. The Spartans managed to put together an 8-0 run to help pull a few possessions away from the Cornhuskers before going into the half up 40-33.

An early second-half jump allowed Michigan State to pull ahead by 17 points and led Nebraska to play catch up for the rest of the game. The Cornhuskers would cut the MSU lead down to 5 but did not get any closer than that, leading to MSU’s first conference victory.

Michigan State has been looking for someone to take ahold of games and lead the pack with an ability to take over games, similar to what Cassius Winston used to do. Aaron Henry took that challenge personally tonight, scoring 27 points on 10-16 shooting.

Josh Langford aided Henry’s efforts, showing flashes of the player he used to be, scoring 15 points. Gabe Brown was the only other Spartan in double figures, scoring 10.

Michigan State is headed back in the right direction as the Big Ten season is set to unfold. A win over Nebraska will hopefully give the team much-needed confidence and the ability to turn around what has been an ugly Big Ten season thusfar.

Michigan State will be back in action on Tuesday, January 5th, at 9 p.m. EST against Rutgers.

WATCH: Josh Langford makes first basket since Dec. 29, 2018

Joshua Langford has made his return to the Michigan State basketball program and has scored his first basket in the long waited return.

[jwplayer uZffHiR1-PROpJzTY]

The long-awaited return of Joshua Langford has finally come, the fifth-year senior is suiting up and starting in the Michigan State season opener against Eastern Michigan. It has been almost two years since Langford has played in a game for Michigan State after injuries took away the back half of the 2018-19 season and all of the 2019-20 season.

The last points Langford scored while wearing the Green and White was on Dec. 29, 2018, when the guard nailed a first-half three-pointer against Northern Illinois.

Langford has six points as the first-half has come to a close in Michigan State’s season opener against the Eagles. Watch the first bucket in Langford’s return here:

Michigan State Basketball: Tom Izzo names Josh Langford a starter

Joshua Langford is back and preparing for the 2020-21 season and has been named a starter. The star will have a welcomed return.

[jwplayer ThHMsta4-PROpJzTY]

In a year filled with storylines, most filled with chaos, it is refreshing to finally get something that everyone in Spartan nation can truly smile about. Earlier this week, MSU coach Tom Izzo revealed that Joshua Langford was “as close to 100 percent as he is going to be,” and that the fifth-year senior guard is currently penciled into the starting lineup.

Langford has spent most of the last two seasons sidelined due to injury, a problem that almost cost the Huntsville, Alabama native his basketball career. A concerning situation for Spartan basketball fans all over, it is amazing to see the basketball star preparing for one last run in East Lansing.

Langford’s three-point shooting ability will be a welcomed return to the Spartan’s line-up. The combo guard is a career 40.7 percent shooter from behind the arc. Averaging 10.5 points per game in his career, Langford was having a breakout year in 2018-19 averaging 15 points a game before a foot injury ended his season.

Hearing that Josh Langford is back and preparing for this upcoming season will be very welcoming and exciting for Spartan fans all over.

Xavier Tillman hints at healthy Joshua Langford for Michigan State Basketball

On a recent call with the media, Xavier Tillman noted that Michigan State guard Josh Langford looks healthy on video.

[jwplayer PH0GG6LS]

Xavier Tillman is now on his way to the NBA, officially declaring that he will stay in the 2020 NBA Draft two weeks ago. Tillman spoke to the media on Wednesday about his decision to stay in the draft, and his explanation behind that decision definitely grabbed most of the headlines coming from that call, but there was another incredibly interesting nugget to come from that call regarding Joshua Langford. Tillman slipped in that “Josh” is looking really good what he has seen.

This is huge news for Spartan fans. Langford missed most of the last two seasons with an ankle injury some feared may cost him his career. If he can make it back to full health, it wouldn’t just mean a ton for what is looking to be a young roster of Spartans steering the ship next season, it’ll mean that Langford, a player who I always thought to have a future at the next level, could revitalize his basketball career for both the short and long-term.
