LOOK: Michigan State football QB Aidan Chiles’ dad responds to team getting another QB

Aidan Chiles father, Adrian, responded to MSU getting a second QB out of the portal:

Michigan State’s new head coach Jonathan Smith made a splash in the transfer portal earlier this offseason when he landed the top rated QB in the portal, Aidan Chiles. Chiles, a former top-60 recruit comes with Smith from Oregon State.

Now, Smith has added another QB into the program, one with a lot of experience and a lot of success at the collegiate level. Tommy Schuster, a transfer from North Dakota, and a Macomb (MI) native is coming back home to play for MSU.

Chiles’ dad responded to this news via X, “Competition builds character. Experience in the room is good for all involved. Gotta Work!!!!”

The right mindset for Chiles and his family heading into spring ball.

Every Michigan State football player who has withdrawn from the transfer portal to return to MSU

Which Michigan State players have withdrawn from the transfer portal to return to MSU?

With the year this Michigan State football team has had, losing one coach, enduring a tough season under an interim coach, and then seeing a new coach the players weren’t familiar with takeover the program, it’s not surprising that a large group of Spartans have entered the NCAA transfer portal since the season ended.

However, Jonathan Smith said that him and his staff intended to try and get some of those players to stay in East Lansing, and a group of those players have indeed decided to return to MSU to play under their new head coach.

Michigan State football hiring NAU OC as senior offensive analyst

Michigan State is hiring Northern Arizona’s OC as a senior offensive analyst

New Michigan State football coach Jonathan Smith has made the latest addition to his program, adding a nice piece to his offensive coaching staff. According to reports, the Spartans are hiring Aaron Pflugrad as a senior offensive analyst that will work with the quarterbacks.

A former AFCA 35 Under 35 recipient, Pflugrad is a highly thought of young coach that Smith has smartly brought into the fold. Pflugrad’s playing career was spent between Oregon (2007-09) and Arizona State (2010-11) before getting into coaching.

As a coach, he spent three seasons as a graduate assistant with ASU (2012-15) before spending 2016-2023 at Northern Arizona, with the first three seasons as wide receivers coach and the latter six as the offensive coordinator.

What the experts are predicting: Sun Bowl

What’s your pick for this game?

Notre Dame and Oregon State will face each other in a Sun Bowl that already is giving a real boost to the economy of El Paso, Texas. The least these teams can do is give the locals a thriller in a sold-out stadium. With so many regulars on both sides missing, that might happen purely on accident. This will be a must-watch.

There are plentiful predictions for this game. Here are some of them:

Former Wisconsin linebacker receives crystal ball predictions to a Big Ten rival

Former Wisconsin linebacker receives crystal ball predictions to a Big Ten rival

After Wisconsin starting linebacker Jordan Turner entered the transfer portal earlier this week, 247Sports has posted crystal ball predictions for him to choose Big Ten rival Michigan State.

The predictions come from National Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu and Michigan State Insider Sean Scherer, and both were posted less than 24 hours after Turner announced he was entering the portal.

Michigan State would be an interesting destination for the former Badger starter. The Spartans are welcoming in new head coach Jonathan Smith, an impressive hire given his recent track record at Oregon State. With that comes a lot of roster turnover, new coordinators and a need for experience on both sides of the ball. Turner would bring exactly that.
