REPORT: Paul Tyson has found a new home

Paul Tyson has a new home

Earlier this week quarterback Paul Tyson announced his decision to enter the transfer portal. It is now being reported that Tyson has made a commitment to Herm Edwards and the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Tyson, who is the great-grandson of legendary Alabama head coach Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant, has spent three seasons with the team. Due to Covid, Tyson will still have three remaining years of eligibility.

The Sun Devils will be returning three-year starter Jayden Daniels at quarterback, so Tyson will have his hands full in winning a starting job this season.

Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports was first to report on Tyson’s commitment.

Everything you need to know about the 2021 Arizona State Sun Devils

Ah, Wisconsin’s final game week of the 2021 college football season. First things first, here’s to hoping the Badgers and Arizona State Sun Devils are able to play in light of the cancellations we’ve seen across the country.

With both teams already in Las Vegas, it appears we’re well on track for the game to be played.

Arizona State presents an interesting matchup for the Badgers. The team is great on the ground and has a strong defense, though has had trouble at times throwing the football. Yes, you can say that same exact sentence about Wisconsin.

Here is a complete team preview of Herm Edwards’ Sun Devils, complete with which players will and will not be playing:

Zak Hill: What does his track record with quarterbacks look like?

Here is Zak Hill’s track record with Division I quarterbacks.

If you follow college football closely, you might have heard of the name Jayden Daniels.

He plays quarterback for Arizona State. He was phenomenal in his freshman season back in 2019 with the Sun Devils, with a TD/INT split of 17/2, which is absolutely incredible. Since 2019, Zak Hill has taken over as the offensive coordinator at Arizona State, and the numbers have not been pretty for Daniels.

However, Hill had a pretty decent stretch as offensive coordinator at Boise State the few years prior. Quarterback was a very solid position under Hill.

Because Auburn might be considering hiring Hill as the new offensive coordinator, Here is every season that Zak Hill has been a Division I offensive coordinator, and here is everything his quarterbacks did during that time.

Prediction

Arizona State 31, Oregon State 20

Moneyline (ML)

Oregon State is suddenly playing better but still is a 4-5 team, having lost four of five at home. They offer value at +120, but the SUN DEVILS are the smarter bet at -143.

Against the Spread (ATS)

The SUN DEVILS have not been a good bet against the spread. They are favored by 2.5 (-121) on the road, but have covered the spread only three times all season.

Oregon State, on the other hand, is 6-3 against the spread. However, the Arizona State defense should hold up and RB Eno Benjamin should be able to be the workhorse, as the Beavers allow over 192 rushing yards per game.

Lay the points with ASU.

Over/Under (O/U)

The total is set at 57.5 points, which is high. Both teams have hit the under in five of their nine games this season. The two teams combine to average 53 points. That is right about where Saturday’s game will end.

Take the UNDER (-115).
