Sooners receive Rivals FutureCast for in-state RB Xavier Robinson

Oklahoma continues to build recruiting momentum for 2024 as they earned a Rivals Futurecast for one of Oklahoma’s best offensive players, Carl Albert’s Xavier Robinson.

Oklahoma football had a pivotal weekend as a program. In Indianapolis, former Sooners from last year’s team were partaking in the interview of their lives at the 2023 NFL Scouting combine. Back in Norman, Oklahoma, the Crimson and Cream hosted another massive Junior Day with over 25 recruits.

The list of prospects was long and star-studded, and by all accounts, Oklahoma did a great job giving recruits a lot to think about going forward.

One in-state recruit in attendance, 2024 three-star RB Xavier Robinson, really enjoyed his visit. Josh McCuiston, Oklahoma Recruiting Editor for Rivals, believed that the Sooners hit it out of the park for the OK preps star and dropped in a Rivals Futurecast for the prospect.

Robinson is rated the fifth-best player in the state per Rivals. He was named 2022 MaxPreps Oklahoma High School Football Player of the Year. He was a driving force for his Carl Albert team that went 12-2 and won the 5A State title. Robinson was also named The Oklahoman’s Offensive Player of the Year.

He rushed for 2,598 yards and 39 touchdowns to lead his squad. Kansas State, Kansas, Memphis, and Iowa State are all schools recruiting Robinson in addition to Oklahoma.

Oklahoma doesn’t have a running back committed in 2024 but figures to be in the race for Robinson along with [autotag]Jeremy Payne[/autotag], [autotag]Caden Durham[/autotag], and [autotag]James Peoples[/autotag]. If following their precedent from these least two classes, expect Oklahoma to sign at least two backs.

Alabama lands in top-six for 2024 RB James Peoples

2024 running back James Peoples recently listed Alabama in his top-six. He received an offer from Alabama in December.

Alabama has seen its share of success recruiting the Lonestar state in recent years. The Crimson Tide will look to continue that after landing in the top-six for 2024 running back James Peoples.

Peoples plays running back at Veterans Memorial High School in San Antonio, Texas. He is listed at 5-foot-10, 192 pounds, according to 247Sports.

He competes in track and field along with performing on the gridiron. He ran a 15.81 in the 110-meter hurdles as a sophomore. His speed and athleticism stand out the most about his playing style.

When speaking with On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Peoples had this to say:

“The coaching staff at Alabama is great, Coach Saban has a plan in place that has worked for a lot of running backs and has proven successful in their careers. Alabama football has a rich history in the running game and Coach Hutzler Coach Saban really emphasizes that when we talk! Our relationship is still building but it’s definitely a special place!”

It will be interesting to see if the Alabama coaching staff is able to steer him away from other programs like Texas, TCU, and Oklahoma.

Ohio State in final group for elite Texas running back who will visit next month

The Buckeyes are making a big move with this Lone Star running back #GoBucks

As we saw this past year, having running back depth is key and [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] is trying to continue with that trend. Since there were plenty of backs already on campus and Mark Fletcher decommitting late, the 2023 class was completed without a back.

Head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] and his running backs coach [autotag]Tony Alford[/autotag] are already working on getting a back and have made a very positive impression on Texas native, [autotag]James Peoples[/autotag]. He dropped his final six schools today and the Buckeyes made the cut along with Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, and Texas.

Peoples is viewed as a top-six running back in the country and a composite top 100 player by 247Sports. He stands 5-foot, 10 inches, and weighs 190 pounds.

There is more good news regarding the Buckeyes and Peoples, he will be visiting Columbus at the end of March.

The Ohio State coaching staff has offered more than a few running backs in the 2024 cycle, but it’s looking very good with Peoples at the moment.

Elite 2024 RB James Peoples speaks on top six schools

Texas makes the cut for four-star running back James Peoples.

One of the top prospects in the 2024 recruiting class cut down his list to six schools on Thursday.

Four-star running back James Peoples has narrowed down his recruitment to Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU and Texas. He plans to take visits throughout the spring but has no firm decision date set.

247Sports composite lists Peoples as the No. 6 prospect in the state of Texas and the No. 76 overall player in the 2024 cycle.

Peoples is one of the most productive players in Texas high school football. He ran for nearly 2,000 yards and 28 touchdowns averaging 10 yards per carry as a junior in 2022.

The San Antonio product stands with a strong 5-foot-10, 192-pound frame. He has excellent quickness along with breakaway speed once he hits second gear. Peoples fits the bill as a potential three-down back at the college level.

Peoples sat down with On3 Sports to discuss what stands out about all six of his final schools.

Recruits react to weekend spent in Norman with the Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma hosted an important recruiting weekend for the 2024 class, and here’s how they reacted on social media.

A rough first season on the gridiron for Brent Venables, and his staff didn’t slow them down one bit on the recruiting trail for 2023. And it’s unlikely to hinder anything they do in the 2024 cycle as well.

A month removed from a strong performance in the Cheez-It Bowl, the Oklahoma coaching and recruiting staff have been grinding in preparation for this past weekend’s “Junior Day” on campus at the University of Oklahoma.

The Sooners hosted a number of top prospects in the 2024 recruiting class, including four-star quarterback [autotag]Michael Hawkins[/autotag], four-star running back [autotag]Jeremy Payne[/autotag], four-star OL [autotag]Casey Poe[/autotag], and four-star safety [autotag]Aaron Flowers[/autotag]. Each has been trending in the Oklahoma Sooners’ favor.

Venables and his staff also hosted four-star in-state product [autotag]Xadavien Sims[/autotag], a defensive lineman out of Durant, Oklahoma. Michigan State is heavily pursuing Sims in addition to David Stone, who will be coming to Norman in a couple of months. These will be two crucial recruiting battles for the Sooners, especially after losing Norman’s Bai Jobe to the Spartans.

The Sooners’ staff has shown that they can recruit in the little more than a year they’ve spent in Norman. This weekend was a big opportunity to make some headway in some notable recruitments.

Here’s how a number of those prospects reacted to their time in Norman.

Here are some Penn State football recruits to keep on your radar

Who are some recruits to keep an eye on for Penn State football?

We head into another offseason of Penn State football, and James Franklin continues his work on the recruiting train.

The Nittany Lions are losing some depth at key positions, and they look to build on that before next fall.

They continue to build on the positive trajectory of linebackers, bringing in a 2024 four-star in Anthony Speca earlier this week. Linebacker [autotag]Abdul Carter[/autotag] had an impressive first year with Penn State. They also brought back Curtis Jacobs, adding more experience to their youthful linebacker room.

We have spent the past few weeks looking a little bit further ahead into the 2024 class of recruits. While there are many already committed to school and others heating up for other schools, there are still plenty of other recruits to take a look at, especially for Penn State football.

Now, who are some of these recruits for Penn State football? Let’s take a closer look.

Every running back Texas has offered in the 2024 recruiting class

4 of the 8 offers are out of the state of Florida.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are putting the finishing touches on a very impressive recruiting class for the 2023 cycle. Continue reading “Every running back Texas has offered in the 2024 recruiting class”

Alabama extends offer to 2024 4-star RB James Peoples

2024 running back James Peoples already had a number of FBS offers. Alabama is the latest program to offer the Texas native.

The Alabama coaching staff recently wrapped up a solid recruiting haul from the 2023 recruiting class. It is clear that they are already identifying prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle. On Wednesday, the Tide offered 2024 running back James Peoples.

Peoples’ stature is somewhat reminiscent of current Alabama running back Jamarion Miller who was 5-foot-10, 195 pounds out of high school. Peoples is listed at 5-foot-11, 192 pounds. I also drew the comparison considering that Miller is from Texas as well.

It is also worth noting that Peoples also runs track and field for his high school.
