WATCH: New Alabama football hype video just dropped ahead of NM State matchup

Are you ready for this matchup?

Alabama football enters Week 11 as the No. 2 team in the nation, according to the College Football Playoff committee, and, because of a road loss to Texas A&M, is still on the bubble of making the playoff.

Well, with three games remaining, there’s nothing Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide can do besides staying focused and defeating opponents.

First up is New Mexico State in Tuscaloosa. In preparation for this game, like every other, the team releases a hype video/trailer to gear up for the contest.

This one, narrated by Jalyn Armour-Davis, discusses what it takes to win and be successful.

Alabama football countdown: 5 days until kickoff

We are 5 days from Alabama football kicking off its season on the road against the Missouri Tigers to start a 10-game, SEC only schedule.

There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding college football over the last couple of months, but as of right now, the season still looks like it’s a go for the SEC, ACC and Big 12.

So, what does that mean? It means that we can continue the Countdown to Kickoff en route to the Crimson Tide — and the rest of the SEC — getting things underway on Sept. 26.

With it now being Sept. 21, we are officially 5 days away from the start!

Alabama has two players wearing the No. 5 this season. On defense, it’ll be redshirt sophomore Jalyn Armour-Davis, who is expected to be a valuable depth piece at cornerback for the Crimson Tide.

On offense, it will be true freshman wide receiver Javon Baker out of Powder Springs (Ga.). After a good first fall camp in Tuscaloosa, Baker is poised to make some sort of impact in a depth/rotational role in 2020.

Former Alabama defensive back Shyheim Carter wore the number throughout his career prior to those two players listed above.

Height: 6-1 / Weight: 182

Class: Redshirt Sophomore

Hometown: Mobile (Ala.)

High School: St. Paul’s High School

HS ranking (247Sports): 4-star / No. 107 overall / No. 13 CB / No. 2 ALA

HS ranking (Rivals): 4-star / No. 123 overall / No. 16 CB / No. 4 ALA

Analysis: Jalyn Armour-Davis is entering his third season with Alabama, and the opportunity is finally here for the former four-star prospect to earn significant playing time.

The Crimson Tide’s secondary is depleted after losing four of its five starters from last season, including Trevon Diggs, Xavier McKinney, Shyheim Carter and Jared Mayden.

As of right now, the top two cornerbacks on the roster appear to be the lone returning full-time starter Patrick Surtain II and Josh Jobe, who started the Citrus Bowl against Michigan with Diggs choosing to sit out.

With Surtain potentially playing the Star position in Alabama’s defense, however, the third and final “starter” in the nickel defense is currently up for grabs.

Armour-Davis will compete with Marcus Banks, Brandon Turnage and new JUCO arrival Ronald Williams Jr., but Armour-Davis will probably be considered one the favorite out that group.
