Views from his time in Foxboro.

On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins addressed one of their biggest roster needs, signing former New England Patriots offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn to a one-year deal.

The former first-round pick is expected to compete for the right tackle job with Austin Jackson, but he could provide some great depth at a position that could definitely need it due to the injury history of both Jackson and Terron Armstead.

Before Wynn takes the field in aqua and orange for the first time, it’s a great opportunity to get a look at some of his best moments during his career with the Patriots.

Former New England Patriots offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn has reportedly signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news on Sunday.

Wynn, a former first-round draft pick, had a turbulent run with the Patriots. Injuries were the biggest issue considering he only played in more than 10 games once in a season in the entirety of his four-year run with the team.

There were flashes of serious talent on the football field, but he was never around enough to stay in sync with the rest of the offensive line. Things really unraveled in 2022 with penalties becoming the norm, along with pass blocking struggles.

Wynn tweeted back in March that teams needed to be in the $5 million range to even talk to him about signing a deal.

Now, he joins the Dolphins on what seems to be a prove-it deal in an effort to cash in on an even bigger contract down the line. He won’t have to wait long to face his former Patriots teammates in Foxboro with the Dolphins slated for a Week 2 visit in 2023.

He should compete for the starting job with Austin Jackson.

Despite using one of their four 2023 draft selections on an offensive tackle, the Miami Dolphins still had a previous obvious need for talent at the positon at the end of the three-day selection meeting.

On Saturday, the Dolphins addressed the issue by signing former New England Patriots offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network Ian Rapoport.

Wynn entered the league as a first-round pick in 2018 after an impressive collegiate career at Georgia. He spent his first three seasons as New England’s starting left tackle before being moved to the right side in 2022.

Health has been an issue for the former Bulldog in his five-year career, as he’s only started in 40 of the potential 82 games he could’ve been on the field for.

In Miami, he should be able to compete with Austin Jackson for the starting right tackle spot, and if he doesn’t win, he can still provide solid depth at the position.

This former Patriot is still on list of best free agents available

Former Patriots starter still looking for a new team.

There are still several NFL free agents left out on the market, including a former member of the New England Patriots.

NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal compiled a list of the best available free agents, and former New England offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn was on it.

Wynn was drafted by New England in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. He began his career as a dependable left tackle for the organization. However, injury issues and poor play forced him to take a bit of a backseat in 2022. He appeared in nine games and started seven of them.

His poor performance resulted in him being benched twice, with the last occurrence taking place on October 17. Marcus Cannon came in to replace him during that game and served as his backup.

Wynn became a free agent at the end of the season. Here’s what Rosenthal had to say about the tackle:

It’s a bad sign that Wynn seemed to fall out of favor with the Patriots before landing on injured reserve, but he’s still a young player with plenty of high-level tape — though it came during his first three seasons.

It will be interesting to see if Wynn lands anywhere before the start of the 2023 campaign. He still could be a serviceable lineman, but it became very clear that his time ran out in New England. He will have to resurrect his career elsewhere.

NFL Free Agency figures to pick up again: Here are 5 great options for Raiders

5 great options for Raiders as Free Agency figures to heat up again.

Typically you think of free agency as happening in March. That’s when those players whose contracts are up with their clubs are able to negotiate and sign elsewhere. And for the most part, the top options fly off the market, following by a couple more “waves”. Then it cools down and teams shift their focus to the draft.

But that doesn’t mean it’s over. It’s more of a break before it starts up again.

There is another wave starting up now. Why? Well, two reasons, really: One, it’s when players can be signed and it will no longer count against the team’s compensatory pick total. And two, because the draft is done which means teams know what areas they were able to address and which still require some attention.

For the Raiders, they were able to address basically edge rusher and tight end for certain.

At seven overall they got edge rusher Tyree Wilson and at 35 overall they got tight end Michael Mayer. Those are the two sure starting caliber players. After that, there’s still plenty of room for upgrades and competition.

Friday the Raiders cleared up some cap space by restructuring Chandler Jones’s deal, giving him about $4 million to spend on free agency should they wish to use it.

Here a short list of some free agents still out there who could make sense for the Raiders

11 unsigned free agents who can help teams with the 2023 NFL Draft over

With the draft over, these experienced players can still help some teams.

The 2023 NFL Draft is over, and soon it’ll be time to hunker down for the summer for the entire league.

But, with the acquisition period officially a thing of the past, once every team takes stock of what they have rostered, they’ll be looking to fill in the gaps wherever they can. And trust me, as much as there’s a lot of awesome undrafted free-agent talent out there, sometimes you can’t rely on youth as much as you want. Experience wins out, especially for those guys who already know what it’s like to battle against legitimate NFL competition.

Here are 11 unsigned (and useful!) NFL veterans who can still help teams now that the 2023 NFL Draft is in the books.

Isaiah Wynn cracks ESPN’s top-10 remaining free agents

Isaiah Wynn is one of ESPN’s top-10 remaining free agents.

Former New England Patriots offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn remains unsigned by a team, but he has moved his way up to being listed as one of the top-10 remaining free agents by ESPN’s Matt Bowen.

Earlier in March, the former first-round draft pick posted on Twitter that teams needed to be in the $5 million offering range before they even considered approaching him about a deal. There’s no word yet on if a contract of that caliber has even been offered, but as of right now, Wynn still remains a free agent.

Bowen has the former Georgia standout ranked seventh on a list of available free agents that is topped by former All-Pro wideout Odell Beckham Jr.

One of the biggest problems for Wynn during his time in New England was health-related. He appeared in a total of 43 games over the course of four years. The injury bug was frequent for a young player still on a rookie deal.

There were also the inconsistencies on the field as well.

Wynn ranked among the worst in the league with a 54.6 overall Pro Football Focus grade in 2022. Penalties also started to become an issue, and things basically boiled over to the point where it was clearly time for the Patriots to move on.

But maybe a new opportunity will yield better results for Wynn, who can finally close the chapter on his time in New England.

9 former Patriots players who are still free agents

Here are the last remaining former Patriots players still listed as free agents.

After one week of free agency, the New England Patriots have managed to re-sign the vast majority of their pending free agents since the turn of the new league year.

They’ve also lost some key players as well, including wideout Jakobi Meyers and running back Damien Harris.

But not everyone has been picked up by another team yet. There are still some considerably noteworthy names swimming in the massive pool of free agency. For New England, that number has dwindled all the way down to 10 players left on the list.

Here are the former Patriots players still waiting to be signed in free agency.

4 available free agents who could still help the Houston Texans

As the Houston Texans continue to swim through the free agency pool, here are four players who could help.

The Houston Texans were active during the legal tampering period of free agency.

However, there are still holes on the roster that the Texans have to address.

It is possible general manager Nick Caserio and rookie coach DeMeco Ryans are waiting to see what is available in the 2023 NFL draft to add young, premium talent to the roster. Even if Houston is adding another crop of “hold the fort guys,” they need to be careful now not to add progress-stoppers who take snaps and chances at experience away from younger players.

If the Texans are still looking for veterans to meet these roster needs and shore up some positions ahead of the draft, here are four available free agents who could be of service.

List of Patriots’ 2023 pending free agents

Here’s an updated list of the Patriots’ current 2023 free agents.

The start of the new league year is only a day away, and the New England Patriots have already agreed to new deals for two of their pending free agents.

On Sunday, the team re-signed multi-purpose linebacker Raekwon McMillan to a one-year deal, and they followed that up by locking down cornerback Jonathan Jones for two more years on Monday.

The latter agreement was a big one for a Patriots team that was on the verge of having serious question marks in the defensive backfield.

But there’s still plenty of work to be done, especially with coveted players like wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and running back Damien Harris set to hit the open market on Wednesday.

Here’s an updated list of the Patriots’ pending free agents.
