Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman: ‘You have to continue to get ready’

Freeman gets it

There have been plenty of internet athletic directors out there putting [autotag]Notre Dame football[/autotag] head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] on the hot seat.

That’s completely the wrong take, as Freeman has already elevated this program and will continue to do so for as long as he’s the head man in South Bend. Part of the reason why he is taking the Irish in the right direction is mindset.

Freeman understands that, and is building on it. Some coaches just get that in order to get to the top of the college football world you have to prepare regardless of what has happened in the past.

Some of the bumps in the road right now will be look back upon as a learning experience. Keep in mind that Freeman is just in his second season as a head coach. He’s going to keep getting better while bringing Notre Dame with him and his mindset is a big part why.

Watch: Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman rips into reporter for his coaching style

You can now add reporter to Freeman’s resume

The shoe was on the other foot today for [autotag]Notre Dame football[/autotag] head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag].

During is press conference on Monday morning, Freeman dug into Irish Illustrated’s [autotag]Tim O’Malley[/autotag] for his coaching. Specifically, it was O’Malley’s offensive decisions during a 3rd and 4th grade flag football game red zone play, which happens to have one of Freeman’s son’s on the team.

It was an extremely funny interaction between Freeman and O’Malley, who saw each of their jobs get reversed in the situation. Check out the two of them going back-and-forth below in a video clip of it shared on social media.

Glad to say that Irish football is back this weekend as Notre Dame sets to face off against Pittsburgh.

Watch: USC is preparing for Notre Dame by spraying water at players

Do this make sense to you?

The weather might not be ideal in South Bend this weekend as [autotag]Notre Dame football[/autotag] is hosting USC in a top 25 matchup.

It might rain, it might not, but the Trojans want to be prepared either way. In a video shared on X, the the website formerly known as Twitter, USC was practicing fielding punts while a staff member was showering them with some water.

It’s kind of silly, if you ask me, typically teams just soak the balls with water before they’re used. If you think about what the Trojans are doing, it just doesn’t make sense. Take a look for yourself.

At this point, after seeing how they handled the punts in the rain, we should hope it pours.

5 stars: The best and worst of Notre Dame’s loss at Louisville

Not much we right for the Irish against Louisville

This wasn’t the way [autotag]Notre Dame football[/autotag] envisioned tonight, they got out-played in their own game by [autotag]Louisville[/autotag], losing 33-20.

The Irish played their worst game of the year, and the result was their second loss of the season, effective eliminating them from a spot in the [autotag]College Football Playoff[/autotag].

Tonight was a tough one to swallow, as the Irish on paper looked like the much better team. They were not.

Typically we look at who performed the best, but there really wasn’t anything to celebrate tonight. Find out below what I thought was the worst part of Notre Dame road loss to Louisville.

ESPN projects two Notre Dame players to be All-American’s in 2023

No surprises here

The 2023 [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] Fighting Irish team looks to have some star power on its roster. Even though they lost their two best players from last year, tight end [autotag]Michael Mayer[/autotag] and defensive end [autotag]Isaiah Foskey[/autotag].

Like every season in college football, the next season brings a new set of stars and head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] will be able to lean on two of them. ESPN released their projections for the 2023 All-American team and a pair of Irish players made the list.

It shouldn’t be too surprising who made the list for Notre Dame, as both of these players were stalwarts during the past season. Find out below which two made it.

Notre Dame keeps the offers flowing, Texas linebacker is next up

Another Irish offer goes out

No days off, that must be the motto in the [autotag]Notre Dame Football[/autotag] offices right now regarding recruiting. The Irish have found a rhythm with high schools prospects and aren’t letting off the gas right now.

Multiple offers have been going out to different prospects and today was no different as Texas linebacker [autotag]Justin Williams[/autotag] was the most recent offer. He possess great size at six-foot-two-inches and 205-pounds and his offer list is very impressive. [autotag]Auburn[/autotag], [autotag]Oregon[/autotag], [autotag]USC[/autotag], [autotag]Texas[/autotag], [autotag]Florida[/autotag] and others got to Williams before Notre Dame did today.

Williams was fantastic during his junior year, 8.5 sacks along with 105 tackles on the year. It obvious why the Irish are very interested in him.

Watch: Notre Dame signee Brenan Vernon makes a crazy interception at All-American Bowl

You have to see this Irish fans

The Irish sent more than a few players to the [autotag]All-American Bowl[/autotag] this year. The high school all-star game typically favors offensive players, there is a no blitzing rule that is sometimes abided by.

For [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] signee [autotag]Brenan Vernon[/autotag], he didn’t want the offense to have all the fun. Getting plenty of playing time during the contest, Vernon made a play that not many defensive ends can make.

He showed hands off a tight end, as he brought in a one-handed interception while dropping back from his lineman spot. It was a wow play for one of the highest rated future Irish players at the game.

Notre Dame 2023 signee named his states Gatorade Player of the Year

The Irish signed a good one

We all know that the 2023 Irish recruiting class is loaded with talent. Not just at the top but all across the board. Missouri athlete [autotag]Jeremiyah Love[/autotag], who could played running back and defensive back in high school will stay on the offensive side of the ball when he arrives in South Bend, had himself a massive sendoff senior season.

Love helped [autotag]Christian Brothers[/autotag] to a state championship while rushing for 1,292 yards and scoring 22 touchdowns. He also added 370 receiving yards on 13 receptions. That effort from Love was enough for him to be named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Missouri.

He was viewed as a top 100 player in the country along with being a top 5 running back as well. Love is also a track star and that speed certainly translated over to his dominance this past year on the football field.

It might be hard for Love to get some playing time during his freshman season with [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag], as they will return [autotag]Audric Estime[/autotag], [autotag]Logan Diggs[/autotag] and potentially [autotag]Chris Tyree[/autotag] (who has a big decision to make). Even though he might have to wait his turn, when Love gets a chance, he has home-run potential with the ball in his hands.
