Nate Oats will head into his second season as head coach of Alabama men’s basketball team with a top-25 recruiting class that has a lot of Crimson Tide fans excited.

Today, it was announced on Instragram live via Alabama super-fan, Luke Ratliff (@Fluffopotamus), that the Crimson Tide will be facing off against Jacksonville State on Tuesday, Nov. 10 for the 2020 home opener in Coleman Coliseum.

The 2019-2020 college basketball season was cut short for Alabama during the SEC Tournament in Nashville due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, their regular season record ended up being just one game above .500 (16-15).

Oats will look to lead this team into a postseason that fans can look forward to. With the cancellation of basketball’s tournaments in 2020, and Alabama’s first-round exit in the 2019 NIT vs. Norfolk St., the last time Crimson Tide fans looked forward to the postseason was with Colin Sexton in 2018.

Roll Tide Wire will keep you updated on all things Alabama basketball as the season gets closer and the offseason progresses!

Report: Saints opening 2020 season vs. Buccaneers, visiting Raiders on MNF

The New Orleans Saints will host Tom Brady and the new-look Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their home opener for the 2020 NFL season, per a report.

The NFL is set to release its schedule of games for the 2020 season at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday night, but reports are already filtering in concerning when the New Orleans Saints will be playing this year. Nothing is official until the team itself reveals its slate of games, so don’t finalize your travel plans just yet.

Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football got the scoop on the first few weeks of the 2020 Saints schedule, which begins with an afternoon home opener against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 13. Underhill adds that the Saints and Buccaneers will get a rematch on Sunday Night Football on Nov. 8.

Additionally, Underhill reports that the Saints are scheduled for two Monday Night Football games: in Week 2 at the Las Vegas Raiders, and again in Week 5 versus the Los Angeles Chargers. The Green Bay Packers will visit New Orleans in Week 3, while the San Francisco 49ers will grace the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in Week 10.

Stay tuned for updates as more reports come to light throughout the day. But if things follow this early track, this year’s Saints schedule is looking to be as exciting as advertised.

Royals announce schedule change to potentially accommodate Chiefs’ home opener

Mark Thursday, September 10th in your calendar for the Chiefs’ 2020 home opener.

The Kansas City Royals are changing some dates to potentially accommodate their neighbors across the parking lot at the Truman Sports Complex.

The NFL typically has the defending Super Bowl champion open the NFL season with a Thursday Night Football home game. Because of that common theme, the suspected date for the Kansas City Chiefs to open the 2020 NFL season is Thursday, Sept. 10. There was a problem with that date, though. The Royals were originally scheduled to play a game against the Oakland Athletics in the afternoon.

On Wednesday, the Royals announced scheduling changes, creating a doubleheader on Tuesday, Sept. 8 and freeing up Thursday for the Chiefs.

The two Kansas City franchises have collaborated on scheduling issues in the past. The Royals and Chiefs share parking lots at the Truman Sports Complex, and managing games at the same time can be difficult because of that. This change will free up the parking lot for both fanbases.

Given the Royals went through the trouble of changing their schedule, and mentioned the Chiefs potentially opening the season on Sept. 10 in their press release, expect that to be the case. The question everyone now wants to know the answer to: Who will the Chiefs open the 2020 season playing against? The NFL typically reveals their schedule in mid-April, so we should know the answer in just over a month’s time.
