WATCH: Dak Prescott in Halloween-themed Sunday Night Football promo, Cowboys show off costumes

Whether the QB will thrill fans Halloween night is unknown; Dalton Schultz and Ezekiel Elliott have already done their trick-or-treating. | From @ToddBrock24f7

NBC is fully embracing the Halloween spirit of its October 31 offering by rolling out a new promo that features Hollywood’s most famous scream queen and footage from the latest installment of a famous shasher-flick franchise.

Jamie Lee Curtis narrates the new spot promoting the Cowboys-Vikings matchup on Sunday Night Football. Interspliced with shots of Cowboys stars Ezekiel Elliott and Trevon Diggs, as well as Vikings players Kirk Cousins and Dalvin Cook are moments from Halloween Kills. It’s the 12th entry in the Halloween series that began in 1978 with Curtis as Laurie Strode and introduced audiences to the character of masked killer Michael Myers.

Universal Pictures, the production company behind Halloween Kills, and NBC Sports, are both brands under the parent umbrella of NBCUniversal, so the tie-in was a natural, with the game coming on the same night as standard trick-or-treating hours across the country.

Halloween Kills is playing in theaters and streaming on Peacock, which is also owned by NBCUniversal.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones knows that the night’s traditional celebrations may take a few eyes away from the TV set, but he’s hoping that this year’s ghosts and goblins can scare up a way to also catch America’s Team as they attempt to take their record to 6-1.

“I think you breeze out between snaps and get you a trick or treat and then come on back in. Really, I’d do both,” Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan. “If you took your mask off, you could see the last play with your next-door neighbors. Generally, I try to do both, but I want those kids to have a chance to do some Halloween. Some of my finest hours were tricking my mother and dad’s and people’s neighbors.”

The 79-year-old also admitted to a fondness for candy corn as his favorite Halloween confection.

Several of his players have already been showing off their costumes, since they’ll be otherwise occupied on Halloween night. Tight end Dalton Schultz grew out his mustache for a turn as Westley from The Princess Bride, and running back Ezekiel Elliot went extra-heavy on the makeup as Jared Leto’s version of The Joker.

As for Sunday’s game, the main drama leading up to kickoff will no doubt be surrounding Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his strained calf. Prescott makes a cameo appearance in NBC’s Halloween promo, but he is no guarantee to play.

The real question will be whether, like the main character in any decent slasher movie, he’s able to rise again just when the audience is convinced he’s done and come back for one more thrill.

LOOK: Saints rookie Blake Gillikin in costume as Thomas Morstead for Halloween

New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead learned his teammate Blake Gillikin, a rookie out of Penn State, dressed up as him for Halloween.

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so it shouldn’t surprise Thomas Morstead that his rookie teammate wants to be just like him — and hopefully as storied a decade-long NFL career. But the lengths that Blake Gillikin went to for his Halloween costume had to have caught Morstead off guard.

Gillikin, an undrafted free agent out of Penn State, dressed up as Morstead in the Saints locker room to celebrate the holiday. His outfit included shoulderpads, Morstead’s jersey, and most impressively, a huge wig mimicking Morstead’s luxurious locks. The veteran punter frequently grows his hair long to donate to nonprofits that create wigs for pediatric cancer patients.

So here’s a hat tip to Gillikin, who won Halloween handily this year. Last season’s winner was Cameron Jordan, which was a hard act to follow. Maybe Gillikin can keep up the pressure in 2021 after his impressive rookie training camp, though his first NFL season ended on injured reserve after initially making the opening-day roster.

WATCH: Joey Mulinaro does hilarious impression of Nick Saban on Halloween

Joey Mulinaro with Barstool Sports did another fantastic impersonation of Alabama football head coach Nick Saban.

This might be the best thing you see all day. Once again, Joey Mulinaro with Barstool Sports did a fantastic job impersonating Alabama head coach Nick Saban. On Saturday, he released the new video and it is a massive hit.

Mulinaro put a hilarious spin on Saban with it being Halloween. He is shown giving candy out to trick-or-treaters while giving his typical rants about discipline and taking only one piece. Saban also turned 69 on Saturday, so that was thrown into the mix as well.

It was funny enough that even Saban’s daughter, Kristan, had to give credit. Check it out below:

Halloween 2020 has reached a whole new level. Not only is it Saban’s birthday, there is also a rare blue moon happening tonight.

Alabama takes on Mississippi State at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday.

On this date in Warriors history: Steph Curry spooks Pelicans for 53 points on Halloween in 2015

With no hoops on the schedule, Warriors Wire is rewinding through Golden State’s history for memorable matchups and standout performances.

With no hoops on the calendar, Warriors Wire is rewinding back through Golden State’s history for memorable matchups, standout performances and everything else in between.

On the final day of October in 2015, Stephen Curry put together a performance that will haunt the New Orleans Pelicans long past Halloween.

October 31, 2015

As children dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes for a night of trick-or-treating, the Golden State Warriors point guard spooked the Pelicans in New Orleans.

In the third game of Golden State’s 2015 campaign, Curry notched a dazzling 53 points on 17-of-27 shooting from the field with nine assists and four rebounds in 35 minutes. The six-time All-Star splashed 8-of-14 attempts from beyond the arc. On the defensive end of the floor, Curry was a menace, recording a game-high four steals.

Along with his season-high, his 53 points were the first of three 50-point efforts from Curry for the 2015-16 season.

Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with a double-double effort on 26 points and 15 rebounds. Yet, it wasn’t enough to slow Curry as the Warriors moved to 3-0 on the young season with a 134-120 victory.

On top of bids to the All-NBA First Team and All-Star Game, Curry went on to win his second consecutive Most Valuable Player award in the 2015-16 regular season.

4 ways Dr. Brite products can help ensure a safe Halloween this year

Halloween is supposed to be scary-not to mention fun and memorable. But the coronavirus has added a twist on the typical tricks and treats in 2020, where the frightening element is something you can’t see-but can undoubtedly catch, and worse, …

Halloween is supposed to be scary—not to mention fun and memorable.

But the coronavirus has added a twist on the typical tricks and treats in 2020, where the frightening element is something you can’t see—but can undoubtedly catch, and worse, spread.

Suppose you are planning to partake in Halloween festivities this year. In that case, whether it’s a small gathering or socially distanced trick-or-treating, the key to success is precautions.

This goes beyond masks and six feet of separation, too. Much of the Halloween safety will rely on making sure hands are clean, surfaces are sanitized, and then repeated.

To that, the types of products you choose are equally important, which is something we learned during our introduction to Dr. Brite.

The women-owned company—led by doctors and sisters, Pooneh and Paris—has stepped in at the right time with a lineup of products that are not only effective but also don’t come packed with harsh or harmful ingredients.

They are truly changing the way we practice personal cleanliness, so if you’re planning to ensure your family’s Halloween is safe (and memorable and fun), we’d recommend considering these four Dr. Brite products to get you started …

The Citrus Castile Soap will keep hands (and so much more) clean

(courtesy of Dr. Brite)

Step One on Halloween night will be keeping those hands clean, and Dr. Brite’s Citrus Castile Soap is a perfect go-to option. The multipurpose, anti-microbial formula is cruelty-free and vegan. Plus, it uses 100% vegetable-based ingredients—zero harsh detergents or sulfates—to get the job done.

The multifunctional aspect? It’s a one-stop cleansing shop (which we loved), as the non-toxic formula works for the face, hair, body, dishes, hard surfaces, household items, mopping, and more!

See full details and shop here!

Trick-or-treating or at home, this Sanitizer Gel will work to keep hands sanitized and hydrated

(courtesy of Dr. Brite)

One thing that we’ve learned in the past six months is that certain hand sanitizers can leave your hands feeling like you’ve been playing with sandpaper all day. The drying effect is a major deterrent.

But using a sanitizer is an important precaution, so we were delighted to see that Dr. Brite’s Hand Sanitizer takes some of the focus and places it on moisturizing, while also providing medical-grade Pure Isopropyl Alcohol that meets the CDC recommendations.

Two of the aspects that caught our eye—1) there is a version that comes on a keychain (perfect for the entire family, including young children, during Halloween night strolls!) and 2) each bottle sold means another is donated to a frontline or essential worker!

Check out both the Citrus and Unscented options and learn more about the all-natural ingredients here.

These Alcohol Wipes will be your answer to on-the-go and unexpected messes

(courtesy of Dr. Brite)

If you’re heading out for a stroll with the trick-or-treaters, we’d recommend carrying Dr. Brite’s Alcohol Wipes the same as we’d remind you about the importance of reflective tape and using crosswalks.

An effective product that can handle on-the-go cleaning should be a must-have item during all days of the year—again, especially in the current environment. But being prepared for unexpected messes on Halloween is paramount.

We like Dr. Brite’s Alcohol Wipes because of the portability and the fact they go beyond the expected sticky hands and provide multipurpose cleaning.

No bleaches, menthol or chlorine is a welcomed relief, too, and you’ll have confidence during these COVID-19 times that the wipes, like all Dr. Brite cleaning products, supply the same CDC-recommended Isopropyl Alcohol content.

Learn more about the Alcohol Wipes and find an option—Citrus, Eucalyptus, Unscented—that works best for you and your family.

The Multi-Purpose Spray will provide powerful cleaning before, during and after Halloween

(courtesy of Dr. Brite)

We coined this product “The cleanup hitter” … whether it’s before, during or after Halloween, Dr. Brite’s Multi-Purpose Spray supplies a natural, non-toxic solution for cleaning hard surfaces (non-porous) where bacteria or odors are a concern.

Like the Alcohol Wipes, the versatile aspect complements the quality of the ingredients, making it an unmatched go-to cleaning product. And by versatile, we mean a true do-it-all: countertops, food preparation surfaces, floors, appliances, garbage cans, changing tables, high chairs, cribs, children’s toys, toilet seats, doorknobs, desks, pet habitats, and more.

Shop for your Halloween (and everyday) cleanup Multi-Purpose Spray here, and see how you can attain a clean, streak-free shine without the greasy residue!

Halloween 2021

One of the biggest issues that we’ve encountered—with a lot of products—is the expiration date. “Cost-effective” means more in 2020, for more families, so the last thing we want to deal with is making an additional purchase in six months because the half-used product has already expired.

That was a major bonus with Dr. Brite’s cleaning essentials. Besides being hospital grade—and cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate- free, non-GMO, plus FDA registered to kill all labeled pathogens—we loved that the products all have an 18-month shelf life.

That makes planning for the year ahead—and yes, Halloween 2021—a lot easier!

WATCH: Jimmy Moreland uses ‘Scream’ mask to scare teammates in Halloween prank

In an age-old prank, Jimmy Moreland put fear in his teammates after jumping out at them with a Halloween mask as they entered the building.

Is there anything better on the internet than videos of people getting scared out of their wits as part of a Halloween trick? There’s only one thing that could make it more entertaining, and that’s if the people getting scared are some of your favorite team’s players.

Thanks to Washington cornerback Jimmy Moreland, we now have a video full of Washington players getting spooked when entering the building, as the second-year cornerback jumps out at them while wearing a ‘Scream’ mask and costume, surprising them while crossing through the sliding doors.

The best reaction, by far, was with running back J.D. McKissic, who ducked into a fighting position after the startle, and then turned and ran back out of the building. No matter what the player’s reactions were, it’s at least clear that this team is having some fun, and getting into the holiday spirit.

Gators News: Spooky Florida Gators gameday is almost here

Florida Gators football returns to the field on Saturday while Friday has a hot lineup of other athletic activities in orange and blue.

[jwplayer 66HxiJ8R]

We are mere hours away from Florida Gators football as the beloved boys in Orange and Blue continue to prepare for their gridiron tussle with the Missouri Tigers on Saturday. Despite ongoing issues with positive coronavirus testing numbers, the game appears to be set to go.

This big news on this Friday is Heisman Trophy front-runner Trevor Lawrence’s positive COVID-19 test and subsequent quarantine. The junior quarterback for the No. 1-ranked Clemson Tigers will not play in Saturday’s game against Boston College.

Today, the No. 10 women’s and No. 3 men’s swimming and diving teams take on the Georgia Bulldogs, whose teams rank No. 4 and No. 8 in the nation, respectively, in Athens. The competition is the first of the fall season for both teams.

The cross country team kicks off the SEC Championships Friday morning after participating in just three events the past month. The meet is hosted by LSU and is being held in Baton Rouge.

Gators soccer will also see action today against the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, Tenn. The Lady Gators enter with a 1-3-1 record during a hard-luck season and will look to get back on track with a win against the 2-3-1 Vols.

Finally, the fourth-ranked Florida volleyball squad heads to Tuscaloosa for a back-to-back match with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Florida boasts a 2-0 record on the year while Bama is winless in two matches.

Around the Swamp

It’s great to be a Florida Gator!

Tale of the Tape: Leading Receivers – Javon McKinley vs. Jalen Camp

Though Notre Dame receivers as a whole are getting better, they still don’t have a true leader.

Though Notre Dame receivers as a whole are getting better, they still don’t have a true leader. You can’t say that when their most productive member, Javon McKinley, still hasn’t cracked 200 receiving yards, reached double digits in receptions or scored any touchdowns going into the Irish’s Halloween matchup with Georgia Tech. To be fair, this should be expected of a unit that had nobody of note return from the previous year, and the loss of Kevin Austin for the season certainly doesn’t help. Still, you’d think more would be happening on a team that remains a College Football Playoff contender.

The Yellow Jackets’ top receiver is Jalen Camp, who’s only been moderately better than McKinley. Though he’s not blowing anyone away by any stretch, he’s still where an average top receiver probably would be at this point in the season. The only exception there is that he’s scored only a couple of times. Even so, the battle between Camp and McKinley should be almost even.
