Former Bengals teammate responds to Germaine Pratt’s message

A former teammate had something to say to Germaine Pratt. Is he right?

Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chidobe Awuzie saw Germaine Pratt’s message to Bengals fans after Week 15 and had something of his own to say.

Awuzie kept his message short and sweet to Pratt, too: “Shutup & get off twitter.”

The two are friends, of course, and the bit of advice was well received, as fans can see in the comments.

But for outsiders, it’s an interesting glimpse behind the curtains. Some Bengals players have been on and off social media for most of the season. That, while the defense has been one of the worst in the league.

Now, here’s Awuzie, one of the key veterans from past successful seasons that the team didn’t bring back, publicly offering guidance to one of the Bengals’ captains this season.

While not as notable as say, Jessie Bates, DJ Reader and others, it seems pretty clear that Awuzie was another key member of the locker room that the organization didn’t retain, leading to the current lost season.

Germaine Pratt has message for Bengals fans after win

Germaine Pratt had something to get off his chest…

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt has seen plenty of criticisms this year about missed tackles.

Pratt made sure to address those in a message on social media after his team’s 37-27 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 15.

In that message that pointed out Pratt is up to a career-high 119 total tackles, Pratt poked fun at the idea of missing some while noting he was “terrible today” during the win:

But i don’t tackle 🤣🤣🤣 you going to miss tackle but I was terrible today I’ll be back next week believe that 🩸 can’t stop won’t stop haters never stop High Point NC boy joy ! Love ❤️

It’s sure to be a controversial message amongst fans (actually just look at the replies, it is). Pratt and other Bengals defenders like Geno Stone have had a few of these all season now to ill-fated results.

While Pratt drummed up eight more tackles on the day and his defense technically forced six turnovers, it also got gashed often and continues to be one of the worst overall units in the league and headed for a major overhaul next offseason.

Bengals LB adds more fire to Week 13 rivalry game against Steelers

Germaine Pratt guarantees a Bengals win in Week 13, but can the Steelers use his bold words as fuel to secure a crucial AFC North victory?

Be careful what you wish for, Cincinnati. It appears that Bengals LB Germaine Pratt is having a pretty boring, and obviously insecure, Week 12 bye week, as the AFC North linebacker is guaranteeing a Week 13 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Recently, Pratt and the Bengals have fallen under scrutiny for their awful performance through 11 games, sitting just one game away from last place in the AFC North standings, with a record of four wins and seven losses.

With the Bengals’ playoff hopes seemingly nonexistent, Pratt is holding on to the faint hope of a miracle finish in the final six weeks of the season.

Can the Steelers silence Pratt and the Bengals, further contributing to Cincinnati’s potential three-game losing streak with a Pittsburgh victory? Only time will tell, but it’s clear the Steelers have extra motivation to bounce back from their Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Fans can look forward to watching a Russell Wilson-led offense take on Pratt and the Bengals defense in Week 13 on December 1 at 1:00 PM EST.

Bengals star guarantees win over Steelers in Week 13

A bold move from a Bengals star before a big AFC North game.

The Cincinnati Bengals might be on a bye week, but linebacker Germaine Pratt isn’t taking a break from trying to motivate his guys.

How so? Pratt took to social media and guaranteed a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Week 13 AFC North encounter.

Pratt wrote the following: “We will win next week. Believe that 🩸 Work to win.”

A central figure in a sideline outburst while attempting to motivate his teammates during the Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Pratt has been one of the most vocal leaders on the Bengals this season.

The Bengals and Pratt have a bye week to get right, see that message and apply it. Earlier in the week, it seemed like Joe Burrow was one of the only guys at Paycor Stadium during the bye.

Germaine Pratt had sideline meltdown as Chargers stomped Bengals’ defense

Things got bad on the Bengals sideline on SNF.

The Cincinnati Bengals defense got rolled by the Los Angeles Chargers in the first half on Sunday night, going down 21-6 early.

After what appeared to be several blown coverages, Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt erupted on the sidelines while the defense searched for answers.

The NBC broadcast shared the footage while explaining that Pratt was yelling things like “‘I’m tired of this, let’s go,” while coordinator Lou Anarumo and big names like Trey Hendrickson tried to defuse the situation.

The broadcast noted that Pratt leveled some of his outburst at cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, telling him to “wake up.” Rookie Josh Newton replaced CTB on a subsequent series in the starting lineup.

Based on how the Chargers kept moving the ball, Pratt’s outburst didn’t do much. But it’s good to see some fight from what has been one of the league’s worst defenses.

Bengals LB Germaine Pratt issues message after team’s OT loss

Bengals LB Germaine Pratt had something to say ahead of Week 6.

With the Cincinnati Bengals off to a 1-4 start, there’s been a lot of disappointment from players, coaches and fans. Linebacker Germaine Pratt let everyone know what he was thinking after the overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.

“Look yourself in the mirror and get better,” Pratt posted to Twitter on Sunday after the game.

There’s nothing much more to say about such a poor start to the season for the Bengals, especially for the defense that is second to last in the league in points allowed with 29.0 per game given up, in front of only the Carolina Panthers which have allowed 33.0 per game.

The defense might not be playing well, but Pratt hasn’t been a part of that to this point in the season. The 28-year-old had another solid performance against the Ravens on Sunday with nine total tackles (six solo), the third game in a row he has reached that mark. His season total of 51 stops is just one short of linebacker Logan Wilson’s 52 for the year.

Losing Dax Hill to a season-ending injury might only make getting better tougher from this point, but the Bengals will have the chance to see what they can do against Daniel Jones and the New York Giants this coming week  on the road before they have another AFC North game in Cleveland a week later.

But as Pratt said, there’s nothing more to do than just get better moving forward, hopefully.

Joe Burrow dominates early, but Ravens rally for a 41-38 win over Bengals in overtime

Joe Burrow dominates early, but Ravens rally for a 41-38 win over Bengals in overtime

After a week of pundits and experts questioning Joe Burrow’s demise, the former LSU star put the NFL back on notice with a dominant, five-touchdown performance against the Baltimore Ravens at Paycor Stadium.

Still, it wasn’t enough, as Lamar Jackson and company rallied from a late fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime with a 56-yard field goal from Justin Tucker. In overtime, the Bengals recovered a Lamar Jackosn fumble but were unable to win it after Evan McPherson missed a 56-yard field goal of his win.

Baltimore used a big Derrick Henry run to get into field goal position, and Justin Tucker’s 24 field goals gave the Ravens their third straight win.

At one point in the fourth quarter, Burrow was 27-for-34 for 353 yards and five touchdown passes, while former college teammate Ja’Marr Chase had nine catches for 174 yards and two scores against a Ravens secondary full of first-round picks and high-paid defenders.

Burrow finished 30-39 passing for 392 yards, five touchdowns, and one costly interception. His MVP counterpart, Lamar Jackson, was 26-42 passing for 348 yards and four touchdowns. Jackson also had 12 carries for 56 yards on the day.

After a slow start, Derrick Henry finished things with a bang, rushing for 91 yards on 15 carries, with one rushing touchdown.

Germaine Pratt trades hot takes with Ravens LB Patrick Queen

Germaine Pratt and Patrick Queen exchanged shots on Twitter.

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen have beef.

On social media, at least.

Pratt took to Twitter and commented on a post from Skip Bayless, which effectively commented on just how good Lamar Jackson looks for the Ravens right now.

On that post, Pratt wrote the following about Jackson: “Yeah only looked good bc 9 got hurt.”

Effectively, Pratt said Joe Burrow would have emerged from the game looking even better if he hadn’t left in the first half with what turned out to be a season-ending injury.

Queen didn’t like this take too much, so he had a comment of his own:

The two exchanged another comment chain with vulgar language in there for good measure.

Silly online stuff, of course, but it’s always funny to see how players view things in the aftermath of a game, especially when something emotionally charged as losing one of the league’s best passers is the topic.

Sam Hubbard says nobody watches more film than Bengals LB Germaine Pratt

Germaine Pratt puts in the work.

Fresh off the mild surprise that was returning to the team at all in free agency, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt has picked up where he left off by having a huge impact this season.

That’s not a surprise to his teammates. Defensive end Sam Hubbard, for example, told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com that nobody he knows watches more film.

A general chat with Pratt would seem to confirm as much.

“I probably watch a couple of hours a day,” Pratt said.”I watch some before I go home. When I get home, my son and daughter have a lot of energy and they want to play. After we put them to bed, I probably watch 30 to 45 minutes before we watch TV or go to bed.”

Pratt also explained why: “I think the game is simpler because you watch film and see the tendencies they like to do. Everybody goes back to their roots in critical situations. They have routes or run schemes they’re doing against us that week, but when the game gets tight they run their stuff they would normally call in certain situations.”

Through seven games, Pratt is third on the team with 49 total tackles, plus one sack, two interceptions and one forced fumble.

Or in other words, he’s pacing toward another routine season as one-half of what has quietly become one of the league’s best linebacker cores.
