Georgia in top schools for 4-star Darren Ikinnagbon

The Georgia Bulldogs are in the top schools for four-star New Jersey pass rusher Darren Ikinnagbon

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top schools for four-star edge rusher Darren Ikinnagbon. The four-star pass rusher plays high school football for Hillside High School in Hillside, New Jersey.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound pass rusher is one of the best players at his position in the class of 2025. Ikinnagbon’s top eight schools are Georgia, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Oklahoma, Duke, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Penn State.

The Hillside star is ranked as the nation’s No. 334 recruit and the No. 24 edge rusher. Darren Ikinnagbon is the No. 11 player in New Jersey, per 247Sports.

Georgia lost defensive backs coach Fran Brown, who is now the head coach at Syracuse. Brown was Georgia’s best recruiter in the Northeast, so it is good to see that the Bulldogs are still competitive at recruiting in that region of the country following Brown’s departure.

The four-star announced his top schools via social media:

Georgia football currently has commitments from five recruits in the class of 2025. Ikinnagbon visited Georgia the first weekend of Feb. 2024.

UGA football offers 4-star OT, Notre Dame commit

UGA football has offered a scholarship to four-star offensive tackle recruit, Notre Dame commitment

Four-star offensive tackle recruit Will Black has been committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish since Dec. 2023. Despite Black’s commitment, the Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to the talented offensive lineman.

Will Black plays high school football for Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut. The 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle has excellent size and is ranked as the No. 313 recruit in the nation. Black is considered the No. 29 offensive tackle and the second-ranked player in Connecticut, according to 247Sports.

Black is a multi-sport athlete. He’s also played basketball, hockey, and lacrosse. The Choate Rosemary Hall standout can bench press 315 pounds and has good strength. Black is a member of the class of 2025.

The four-star Notre Dame commitment announced his scholarship offer from Georgia football via social media:

Head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs presently have the No. 8 recruiting class in the country despite having just five commitments. Notre Dame has 15 total commitments in the class of 2025 and the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class.

Former Georgia defensive backs coach named as recruiter of the year

Former Georgia football defensive backs coach played a big role in Georgia securing the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class

Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive backs coach Fran Brown was named 247Sports’ recruiter of the year. Brown, who accepted the head coach job at Syracuse following the SEC championship game, played a massive role in recruiting Georgia’s top-ranked class of 2024.

Brown heavily recruited five-star defensive back Ellis Robinson IV, who is the nation’s No. 2 recruit, to come to Georgia. Robinson’s father described Brown’s relationship with his son.

Fran was not just a coach to Ellis, he was more like a mentor, an uncle. The relationship we developed with him and his family was like family. Even though he’s at Syracuse now that (relationship) hasn’t changed a bit. One word that describes Fran is genuine.

Recruiting is all about relationships, which is something Brown excels at. Brown has recruiting challenges ahead at Syracuse, but has already done an excellent job adding talent to the Orange’s roster. Brown helped Syracuse sign the No. 34 recruiting class in the nation. Several former Georgia Bulldogs transfers followed Brown to Syracuse.

Brown helped Georgia add two five-stars (Robinson and KJ Bolden) to the secondary in the class of 2024. Additionally, the Bulldogs signed a pair of four-star cornerbacks.

Georgia football finishes with nation’s No. 1 recruiting class

Georgia football signed 28 total recruits in the class of 2024 including five five-stars

The Georgia Bulldogs finished with the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class for the first time since 2020. Georgia secured 28 signees in the class of 2024 including five five-star recruits.

The Dawgs’ class of 2024 features the nation’s No. 2 overall recruit, cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, who is the highest-ranked prospect to sign with an SEC school. Georgia tops a highly competitive SEC, which finished with six of the nation’s 10 best recruiting classes.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs had a very quiet national signing day. Twenty-two of Georgia’s commitments enrolled early.

Georgia did pick up an impressive preferred walk-on, three-star wide receiver Jeremy Bell Jr. Bell Jr. was committed to Indiana, but he is opting to walk-on to Georgia. He grew up a Georgia fan and is an explosive athlete, so there’s a chance he sees playing time.

Georgia’s class of 2024 is particularly strong on the defensive side of the ball. All five five-star recruits that signed with Georgia play defense. Georgia co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann helped the Bulldogs land three commitments from linebackers ranked among the top 10 players at their position.

Another area that stands out for the Bulldogs is the trenches. Georgia signed six offensive linemen, including five four-star recruits. The Dawgs also signed five defensive linemen and one edge rusher. Georgia’s defensive line class features three four-star recruits and a five-star.

Now, Georgia’s attention turns to the class of 2025. The Bulldogs have the No. 8 class in the country. Georgia has five commitments in the 2025 cycle, but the Dawgs have commitments from a pair of five-star recruits, so Georgia has a solid foundation.

Final class of 2024 SEC football recruiting rankings

Final SEC class of 2024 recruiting rankings after a quiet national signing day. Georgia signed another elite class

The Georgia Bulldogs have signed the best recruiting class in the country in the class of 2024 after a quiet national signing day. The SEC has six programs in the top 10 of the national recruiting rankings and 11 programs in the top 25.

Georgia won the SEC’s recruiting crown in the 2024 recruiting cycle, but it stands out how much depth their is across the conference. SEC signees in the class of 2024 will be the first ones to exclusively play in the expanded conference that will feature Oklahoma and Texas.

Kirby Smart and Georgia has the SEC’s highest-ranked recruit in five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV. The Bulldogs return a loaded roster for 2024 and are way-too-early national championship favorites.

How does the SEC’s football recruiting rankings stack up on national signing day:

Four-star Georgia linebacker commit no longer considering Florida State

Four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte, who was projected to commit to Florida State several months ago is no longer considering the Seminoles.

Elite linebacker recruit Jadon Perlotte has been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs since December 2022. Several months ago, the four-star linebacker was projected to flip his commitment to the Florida State Seminoles. Now, Perlotte is no longer considering Florida State.

Perlotte told On3, “I dropped Florida State, so I’m not even looking at them anymore.”

Perlotte plays football for Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. Buford is one of the top high school football programs in the country. Perlotte played alongside elite Georgia signee KJ Bolden this past season at Buford.

The four-star, who grew up a Georgia fan, is the No. 54 recruit nationally and the No. 8 recruit in Georgia in the class of 2025. The elite linebacker is the sixth-ranked player at his position.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker runs track and has committed to playing in the 2025 All-American Bowl. Perlotte’s brother, Jordan, plays college football for Wofford. Kirby Smart and Georgia have the top recruiting class in the nation in the 2024 recruiting cycle ahead of national signing day.

Several top recruits, including 5-star QB, visit Georgia football

Over a dozen recruits visited Georgia football including a three-star class of 2024 wide receiver that could still sign with the Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs hosted numerous elite football recruits over the first weekend of February. Georgia, which has signed the No. 1 recruiting class in 2024, is primarily focused on future recruits in the class of 2025 and 2026. However, the Bulldogs still may be looking to sign a three-star wide receiver in the 2024 cycle in Jeremy Bell. Bell is an in-state recruit that recently received a scholarship offer from Georgia on Jan. 28.

The headlining player to visit Georgia was five-star Carrollton quarterback Julian Lewis. Lewis, who is committed to USC, checked out a Georgia basketball game and spent time with head coach Kirby Smart. The Bulldogs hosted over a dozen top recruits and are looking to continue their recruiting dominance.

What recruits visited Georgia football over the past weekend?

Four-star DB Dorian Barney visiting Georgia football

Elite in-state cornerback Dorian Barney is planing to visit the Georgia football program

Four-star cornerback recruit Dorian Barney is scheduled to visit the Georgia football program on Feb. 3. Barney plays high school football for Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Georgia.

The four-star prospect is ranked as the No. 49 recruit in the country. Dorian Barney is the No. 6 cornerback in the class of 2026 and the No. 8 recruit in Georgia, per 247Sports.

The elite cornerback has recently visited the Miami Hurricanes and has a visit scheduled with USC on March 2-3. Barney has recent scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Florida, Auburn, and Kentucky. Barney also plays basketball for Peachtree Ridge.

On tape, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback does a good job of reading the opposing quarterback and is a physical tackler. Barney announced his plans to visit Georgia football via social media:

Georgia is always looking for elite defensive back recruit. The Bulldogs signed the No. 1 cornerback in the class of 2024 in Ellis Robinson IV.

Georgia football signee bumped to 5-star status

Georgia football signee bumped to 5-star status in final recruiting rankings update

2024 Georgia signee Chris Cole earned a five-star ranking from 247Sports in its final recruiting rankings for the cycle.

The athletic linebacker signed with the Bulldogs in December as a four-star recruit out of Salem High School (Virginia). However, now he has been bumped up to a five-star ranking. Cole was the No. 3 linebacker, the No. 1 player in Virginia and the No. 23 recruit overall in his class.

Cole (6 feet, 3 inches, 210 pounds) fits the bill of what Kirby Smart and Glenn Schumann want at linebacker. His length and speed stand out.

Cole played both linebacker and wide receiver at Salem while also running track. He owns the school record in the 60-meter hurdles.

Here’s a look at Cole’s high school highlight tape:

Coles is a part of an elite linebacker class for the Bulldogs, which also includes five-star 2024 signee Justin Williams and four-star signee Kristopher Jones. Will get our first look at UGA’s new signees when Georgia lines up for its annual spring scrimmage in April.

Georgia set to host USC commit, nation’s No. 2 QB Julian Lewis

Georgia football set to host five-star USC commit, nation’s No. 2 QB Julian Lewis

Georgia football is pushing hard for in-state quarterback recruit Julian Lewis, who recently reclassified from the 2026 class to the 2025 cycle.

Lewis committed to USC in August, but he is still scheduling visits, including ones to Georgia, Colorado and Auburn, per On3’s Chad Simmons. The five-star quarterback is saving his last visit for the Georgia Bulldogs on Feb. 3. Lewis has a Jan. 20 visit with Auburn and a Jan. 27 visit with Deion Sanders and Colorado.

Lewis was the No. 1 recruit in the 2026 class before reclassifying. Now, the five-star prospect is rated as the No. 2 quarterback, the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia and the No. 9 player overall on the 247Sports composite.

Lewis (6 feet, 1 inch, 185 pounds) plays for Carrollton High School (Georgia). He was named Georgia’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2023 after helping Carrollton to a 11-2 record and a 7A quarterfinals appearance. Lewis completed 186-of-280 passes (66.4%) for 3,094 yards with 48 touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Bulldogs are in play for Lewis considering his ties to the state and the impending changes to the USC Trojan’s staff. USC quarterbacks coach Kliff Kingsbury is reportedly interviewing for the Chicago Bears’ offensive coordinator role.

Here’s a look at Lewis’ record-breaking playoff performance in 2023:

Julian Lewis is one of the best high school quarterbacks to play football in Georgia in recent memory.
