Four Georgia Bulldogs go in first round of NFL mock draft

Four Georgia Bulldogs including QB Carson Beck selected in first round of ESPN’s latest NFL mock draft

Four Georgia Bulldogs are projected to go in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. ESPN NFL draft expert Jordan Reid recently released an updated NFL mock draft.

Reid predicts that Georgia quarterback Carson Beck will be the first UGA player off the board despite some of Beck’s recent interception struggles. Beck is projected to go No. 10 to the New York Giants. Beck is Reid’s third quarterback off the board behind Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.

“I’m expecting the Giants to start over at signal-caller,” said Reid. “Beck is a polished pocket passer who throws on time and with precision (67.9% completion rate).”

Beck has a chance to continue to elevate his NFL draft stock over the next several months. He has looked better at extending plays this season, but he has been a little bit out of sync with Georgia receivers in recent weeks,

Next, Reid has Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams going No. 13 to the Arizona Cardinals. “Williams began the season as my top-ranked prospect, but he missed some time with a Grade 2 left ankle sprain,” said Reid.

Williams returned to form on Saturday against the Texas Longhorns. He and Jalon Walker burned Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks and company several times as the Bulldogs accumulated seven sacks.

With the next pick (No. 14), Reid predicts that the Indianapolis Colts will draft Georgia safety Malaki Starks. Starks is Reid’s top ranked safety.

“The No. 6 prospect on my board, Starks is instinctive on the back end and a dependable tackler in run support. Sure, safeties have become somewhat devalued, but Starks is an outlier who is worthy of a top-15 pick,” said Reid.  Starks has 39 tackles and one interception this season.

Reid’s final Georgia Bulldog to go in the first round is outside linebacker Jalon Walker. Reid has Walker going No. 17 to the Philadelphia Eagles, who love drafting Georgia Bulldogs.

Of course, this ESPN mock draft was created before Georgia’s 30-15 win at Texas, so Walker could be selected even sooner.

“Walker is a hybrid player; at 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, he’s too small to play on the edge on base downs,” said Reid. “But he has explosive traits that lead to consistent disruption, and he has plenty of experience as a stack linebacker.”

Walker recorded three sacks and eight tackles against Texas after Reid wrote that. We think Walker could have a similar role to Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons.

7 Georgia Bulldogs go in 4-round NFL mock draft

What seven Georgia Bulldogs are expected to go in the first seven rounds of the 2023 NFL draft?

The Georgia Bulldogs are on track to have another impressive NFL draft. Georgia football dominated the 2022 NFL draft with a record 15 selections. Not as many Bulldogs are projected to be selected in the 2023 edition of the NFL draft, but Georgia still have a lot of draftable talent.

What Georgia Bulldogs are expected to go in the first several rounds of the draft? A recent NFL mock draft has seven Georgia Bulldogs going in the draft’s first four rounds. Georgia’s Stetson Bennett and Kenny McIntosh don’t make the cut.

Here’s where all seven Georgia Bulldogs are projected to end up:

Zamir White raises NFL draft stock in 40-yard dash

Georgia Bulldogs running back Zamir White finished as the seventh-fastest running back in the 40-yard dash at the 2022 NFL combine.

Georgia Bulldogs running back Zamir White helped his NFL draft stock with an impressive 40-yard dash at the 2022 NFL combine. White is known as a bruising, tough-to-tackle running back, but he showed his speed at the combine.

White’s unofficial time of 4.47 was later officially timed as a 4.40. White finished as the seventh-fastest running back in the event, but was only 0.03 seconds off the fastest time for a running back.

White’s 40-yard dash time is surprisingly faster than James Cook’s time. Here’s a look at Zamir ‘Zeus’ White’s 40-yard dash at the NFL combine:

White is one of the top backs in the 2022 NFL draft. He still has work to do as a receiver, but he is not a fun guy to tackle. White ran for 25 touchdowns in three seasons with the Bulldogs.

White ended his career with a national championship, 856 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in 2021.

White’s other NFL combine results include a 33.5 inch vertical jump and the tied for best broad jump at 10 feet, 8 inches. Neither White nor Cook participated in the bench press.

Georgia WR George Pickens makes NFL draft decision

Georgia Bulldogs junior wide receiver George Pickens has elected to enter the 2022 NFL draft.

Georgia Bulldogs junior wide receiver George Pickens has elected to enter the 2022 NFL draft. Pickens missed much of the 2021 college football with a torn ACL. Pickens suffered his ACL injury in spring practice, but battled hard and fought back to play late in the season for the Bulldogs.

George Pickens will have to prove how healthy he is throughout the NFL draft preparation process. If Pickens is fully healthy, then he could sneak into the first-round of the draft.

Pickens finished his Georgia career with 90 receptions for 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns. Pickens played in only four games this season. The former five-star recruit out of Hoover High School in Alabama had a career-long 52-yard catch in the national championship.

Kirby Smart and Georgia will turn to receivers like Jermaine Burton, Ladd McConkey, Adonai Mitchell, and Kearis Jackson in 2022. Additionally, Georgia star tight end Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington will be among the Dawgs’ top receiving threats.

George Pickens is projected to be a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Pickens announced his decision via social media and thanked Georgia coaches, players, trainers, fans, and more.

Former NFL great gives UGA TE Brock Bowers big compliment

NFL great Greg Olsen has high praise for Georgia tight end Brock Bowers

Georgia Bulldogs freshman tight end Brock Bowers set the school record for receiving touchdowns in a single season during the first quarter against Michigan.

Bowers scored his 12th receiving touchdown of the season on a pass from quarterback Stetson Bennett. Bowers’ touchdown gave him sole possession of the school record. Bowers was previously tied with Georgia football legend Terrence Edwards, who scored 11 receiving touchdowns in 2002.

Brock Bowers set these records as a true freshman, which is quite impressive. Bowers has 56 total touches this season. The former four-star recruit out of Napa, California, has 902 total yards and 13 total touchdowns.

Bowers is already getting the attention of NFL scouts and former NFL players with his consistent performances.

Former NFL great Greg Olsen knows a thing or two about being a great tight end. Olsen finished his 14-year NFL career with 8,683 receiving yards and 60 touchdowns after being a first-round pick out of Miami.

Olsen says, “Brock Bowers is the best young tight end I’ve seen a long time. He’s a first round pick if he could come out as a true freshman!”

Fortunately for Georgia fans, Brock Bowers will have at least two more seasons with UGA.

Senior Day: Every Georgia football senior

The Georgia Bulldogs host Charleston Southern on Nov. 20 in what will be the final home game for numerous seniors on the UGA football roster.

The Georgia Bulldogs host the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Nov. 20 in what will be the final home game for numerous seniors on the UGA football roster.

Georgia is No. 1 and undefeated. Bulldog fans should thank the current seniors on the Georgia roster. Several seniors elected to return to school instead of declaring for the 2021 NFL draft.

Now, Georgia’s seniors are 10-0 in their final season and are looking to wrap up another perfect year at home. Most of UGA’s senior class have only lost at Sanford Stadium once (2019 game against South Carolina).

Many of Georgia’s seniors are eligible to return for another season next year. The 2020 college football season did not count against players’ eligibility, so there may be a few players on this list who decide to return to Athens following the 2021 season.

However, the current group of seniors should be honored for senior day as if this game will be their last one between the hedges.

One Georgia Bulldog goes in first round of CBSSports’ NFL mock draft

One Georgia Bulldog seems to a be a sure-thing to go in the first round on Thursday night and that’s outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari.

The 2021 NFL Draft is this week and a number of Georgia Bulldogs are sure to hear their name called during the event.

One Georgia Bulldog seems to a be a sure-thing to go in the first round on Thursday night and that’s outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari, who has consistently been hovering around the No. 20 pick in almost every mock draft I’ve seen.

In CBSSports’ most recent mock draft, they have Ojulari headed to Indianapolis Colts with the 21st overall pick.

From Jonathan Jones:

I’ve been frustrated by the Colts’ lack of activity this offseason, but it’s hard to argue against the results Chris Ballard has gotten. They went the veteran route along the OL, so now it’s time to get the edge rusher in the draft.

Also of note, Jones has former Georgia and Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields slipping to No. 14 overall, where the Chicago Bears trade up to get the former No. 1 overall recruit in the country.

He also has the Atlanta Falcons selecting Florida tight end Kyle Pitts with the fourth pick.

PFF compares Ojulari to Baltimore Ravens defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. Ngakoue is a smaller defensive end, who uses his explosiveness, size, and technique to win as a pass rusher. Azeez Ojulari is similar to Ngakoue in all of these respects.

Ojulari will look to make a large impact in the NFL like the Ravens defensive end, Yannick Ngakoue, who has recorded 45.5 sacks in five NFL seasons. On a similar note, Ojulari will try to continue his impressive production (15.5 sacks in two seasons as a starter) at the NFL level.
