Ducks land in top-5 for WR Gatlin Bair, No. 1 rated player in Idaho

The Ducks landed the No. 1 player in Idaho during the 2023 cycle. They’re trying to do it again in 2024.

The Oregon Ducks landed the top-ranked player from Idaho during the 2023 class with ATH Kenyon Sadiq, one of the 100 best players in the nation.

It appears that they are going back to the well, and recent news shows that they are in a good spot to get Idaho’s best once again in the 2024 class.

On Sunday night, 4-star WR Gatlin Bair revealed his top five schools, keeping the Ducks in the mix along with a handful of others. Bair is rated as the No. 1 played in Idaho, as well as the No. 40 overall player in the nation, and the No. 9 WR in the 2024 class.

Bair took a visit to Eugene earlier this year, and will likely find his way out to Oregon again this summer before making his ultimate decision.

Gatlin Bair’s Recruiting Profile

Speedster wideout puts Michigan football in top five

Really gotta get this guy! #GoBlue

Two years ago, Michigan football went into Idaho and nabbed an under-the-radar player top programs wanted, Colston Loveland. Can history repeat?

That’s the hope inside Schembechler Hall.

The Wolverines have been in hot pursuit of 2024 Burley (Idaho) Senior four-star wide receiver Gatlin Bair. Much like Loveland, Bair is well-thought-of and has some high-profile offers. Rated the No. 40 prospect in the country by 247Sports, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver runs a reported 10.18 100-meter dash (for reference, former signee Xavier Worthy, who flipped to Texas, ran a 10.55).

On Sunday night, he released his top five: Michigan, Oregon, Boise State, Nebraska and TCU.

Michigan was the second-earliest offer of his top five, coming in June 2022. Only Oregon was earlier, by one month. 247Sports evaluates him as a Power Five starter:

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Bair possesses excellent on-field context along with a layered athletic profile, which includes scorching 100-meter and 200-meter times with excellent jumping numbers. Bair also gained reps in the return game. His athleticism and experience certainly fit at receiver, but he also possesses immense upside as a defensive projection as well.

There are no 247Sports crystal ball predictions for Bair yet. He holds offers from Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, Utah and Wisconsin among others.

Wisconsin offers four-star wide receiver from Idaho

The Badgers offered Gatlin Bair, a four-star class of 2024 wide receiver from Burley, Idaho on Monday.

The Badgers offered Gatlin Bair, a four-star wide receiver from Burley, Idaho on Monday. The 6-foot-2, 180 pound athlete still has one more season of high school football at Burley Senior High before he’d potentially make the leap to a college program as a member of their class of 2024.

Bair is a multi-sport athlete who has played basketball and ran track, the second of which he’s posted some impressive times, namely running the 100-meter 10.53 seconds at the USA Track and Field Region 11 Junior Olympic Championships in July.

The wide receiver has now received 22 Division 1 offers, including powerhouses like Michigan and Texas. With Luke Fickell and Phil Longo now at the helm offensively, Wisconsin does have a better chance than ever to land a talent like Bair though.

With four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas) already locked up for 2024, the Badgers would certainly love to add another speedster to their offense.
