Summer Olympics Women’s Basketball: Serbia vs. France odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Serbia vs. France odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Women’s Basketball bronze medal picks, tips and best bets.

The bronze medal in the Summer Olympics Women’s Basketball Tournament will be awarded early Saturday morning when Serbia and France clash in a 3 a.m. ET tip-off at Saitama Super Arena. Below, we preview the Serbia vs. France odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

It’s a quick turnaround for both sides. Serbia fell 79-59 to the USA in Friday morning’s semifinal game and France was dealt an 87-71 loss by host nation Japan.

Serbia went 2-1 in the Group Stage but with a minus-7 point differential. It topped China 77-70 in the quarterfinals before losing to the powerhouse USA squad. France went just 1-2 in group play but with a plus-10 point differential. It edged past Spain 67-64 in the quarters before being blown out by Japan.

Serbia vs. France: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Serbia 71, France 68

Money line (ML)

Back SERBIA (+105) as a short underdog for the bronze medal. It faced the tougher test in the semifinal and will look to take some pointers from the dominant USA system.

Serbia had the more impressive quarterfinals win and was better in the Group Stage, outside of an 85-70 loss to Spain. France has lost twice to Japan, lost 93-82 to the USA in the Group Stage but managed to boost its point differential with a 25-point win over lowly Nigeria.

France and Serbia entered the Olympics fifth and eighth, respectively, in the FIBA world ranking, but look for Serbia to improve after most recently playing the Americans.

Against the spread (ATS)

Get some added insurance on the underdog by backing SERBIA +1.5 (-115).

Again, France is in the bronze medal game despite winning just two games in this tournament. It beat Spain by just 3 points in the quarterfinals.

Over/Under (O/U)

Bet the UNDER 142.5 (-120).

France was held to 71 or fewer points in three of its five games this tournament and Serbia held three of five opponents to 70 or fewer points.

Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball: USA vs. France gold medal odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s USA vs. France odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball gold medal picks, tips and best bets.

In Friday’s gold medal game of the Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball Tournament, USA takes on France at Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the USA vs. France odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

After being down double figures in the first half, the USA managed to crawl back into its semifinal game with Australia thanks to a 22-point separation in the third quarter and won 97-78.

France is no joke with both interior defense led by C Rudy Gobert and elite offensive playmaking by SG Evan Fournier. France handed superstar Slovenian PG Luka Doncic his first international loss in the semifinals by a 90-89 count.

USA vs. France: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

USA 86, France 78

Money line (ML)

PASS on the money line because betting on the USA to win is just not even close to worth it.

Team USA has looked flawed this tournament, and while it’s still the more talented side, it’s not by a margin that would result in winning just $10 for every $100 bet.

After going down double figures against Australia, betting on USA to even cover the large spread is a risk.

Yes, F Kevin Durant is that good, but will SG Devin Booker show up again? With the defensive presence of Gobert potentially being a major factor, I’d steer clear of the money line as it’s far too rich.

Against the spread (ATS)

BET on FRANCE +12.5 (-110) as it has looked terrific throughout the tournament. Being able to defeat Doncic is an impressive feat, but France has its sights set on taking the gold.

While we’ve mentioned two impactful players, the French roster runs much deeper. G Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, F Nicolas Batum and G Frank Ntilikina all have extensive NBA experience.

All three of those players are known for their defense as well.

France is an elite defensive side, one that held Slovenia to 89 points. At the very least, expect that defense to be on display which should almost single-handedly help the spread hit in France’s favor.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 175.5 (-110) as France should be able to impose its pace and style of play on the USA. Gobert locking down the paint has absolutely dismantled offenses.

With USA C Bam Adebayo and PF Draymond Green getting many minutes, allowing Gobert to relax and sag into the paint more, I’d expect him to make a major impact.

France and Slovenia finished with a 90-89 total. Even against a more talented side like USA, asking for more than around 88 points each is still far too much.

The Under and the French spread are the best value bets in this gold medal game.

Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball: France vs. Slovenia odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s France vs. Slovenia odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball picks, tips and best bets.

The final spot in the gold medal game will be on the line Thursday morning when France and Slovenia clash in the second of two semifinal games in the Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball Tournament. Tip-off will be at 7 a.m. ET at Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo. Below, we analyze the France vs. Slovenia odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

Slovenia crushed Germany 94-70 in the quarterfinals Tuesday while France got past Italy by an 84-75 count. Slovenian PG Luka Doncic scored 20 points with 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 2 steals in his team’s victory. France got 15 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals from SF Nicolas Batum in the quarters.

France and Slovenia both went 3-0 in the Group Stage and finished atop Group A and Group C, respectively.

France vs. Slovenia: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 7:21 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: France +115 (bet $100 to win $115) | Slovenia -140 (bet $140 to win $100)

France vs. Slovenia: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

France 87, Slovenia 84

Money line (ML)

FRANCE (+115) is the side to back as a slight underdog. It made a statement with an 83-76 win over the USA in its tournament opener and hasn’t looked back with three more victories by at least 9 points.

Slovenia, led by Doncic and his 26.3 points per game, has three victories by 18 or more points and an 8-point win over Spain but faces its toughest test by far Thursday morning. France has the defensive talent to contain Doncic and force his inferior supporting cast to take on larger roles.

Against the spread (ATS)

Any fan of the NBA is well aware of Doncic’s talent and his frequent big-game heroics. However, the wise play is to back FRANCE +2.5 (-110).

Slovenia has the edge in 3-point shooting and rebounding, but I’ll side with France’s depth and experience in what’s likely to be a close game.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the UNDER 174.5 (-105). France has the personnel to slow down Doncic and force shots from Slovenia’s less talented shooters.

France topped 85 points just once through four games and will control the pace Thursday against a Slovenian side that topped 115 points in each of its first two games of the tournament but not in either of the last two games.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: France vs. Japan odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s France vs. Japan odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In the final match of the Group Stage for both sides, France (1-1-0) takes on undefeated Japan (2-0-0) Wednesday at International Stadium Yokohama with a 7:30 a.m. ET kickoff. Below, we preview the France vs. Japan odds and lines, and make our best Olympic men’s soccer bets, picks and predictions.

While fans won’t be cheering it on in the stadium, Japan still gets the luxury of playing at home. So far this tournament, it has been beneficial as it has locked up a place in the knockout round with two wins.

It now takes on a French side which disappointed in Euro 2020.

While the bulk of those players won’t be in Tokyo, the next generation of French talent takes the field. France lost 4-1 to Mexico but beat South Africa 4-3.

Prediction

Japan 2, France 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to JAPAN (+115) as it will try to win all three games and make a statement at home. These U23 players are going to want to make a name for themselves.

F Takefusa Kubo has impressed with 2 goals in the tournament. On top of that, Japan has given up just 1 goal through its first two games.

The high-scoring French side has been both fantastic offensively and disappointing defensively. It needs to figure out a way to slow down Japan, and that doesn’t seem likely.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (-140) as France’s struggles to defend have highlighted its tournament.

France has given up 7 goals through two games yet has scored 5 of its own. No team gets as close in terms of combined goals in its matches and Japan has scored 3 and given up only 1.

France F Andre-Pierre Gignac has 4 goals in two games including a hat trick. His dominance combined with the Japanese offensive prowess should result in a high-scoring match.

Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball: France vs. USA odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s France vs. USA odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Men’s Basketball action Sunday, France and USA play in an 8 a.m. ET tip-off at Saitama Super Arena. Below, we preview the France vs. USA odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

France will not be overlooked by Team USA. While the current roster of Americans had nothing to do with it, the French dispatched the USA at the World Cup. Nicolas Batum, Evan Fournier and Rudy Gobert are all legit NBA talents and threats to give the Americans fits.

There seemed to be a lack of chemistry with the United States during exhibition play, as it fell to both Nigeria and Australia before eeking out a win over Spain prior to the Olympics. We’ll see if it can turn it on now that the games count for real.

France vs. USA: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

USA 92, France 83

Money line (ML)

USA (-700) will cost you seven times your potential return, and that’s extremely risky business given what we saw from the Americans leading up to the Olympics. It looked anything like a Dream Team, but more like a nightmare at times.

France is a tempting play at  +475, but you have to believe USA will turn it on now that the games matter.

AVOID.

PLAY: France vs. USA pick’em contest

Against the spread (ATS)

FRANCE +12.5 (-115) is the play , as Batum, Fournier and Gobert are legit NBA players who will give this team plenty of production. France should be able to keep this game within single digits.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 176.5 (-115) is the slight lean.

As mentioned above, France has some quality NBA bigs, led by Gobert, the NBA’s 2020-21 Defensive Player of the Year. This won’t be confused with a pre-shot clock era game, but the defense will still be good enough as these teams feel each other out early.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: France vs. South Africa odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s France vs. South Africa odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer Group A action Sunday, France and South Africa play in a 4 a.m. ET kickoff at Saitama Stadium. Below, we preview the France vs. South Africa odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

France was drummed 4-1 by Mexico in its opening match. Veteran Andre-Pierre Gignac registered the lone goal on a penalty kick conversion for Les Bleus.

South Africa played the host-nation Japan tough in the group play opener, falling 1-0. GK Ronwen Williams couldn’t contain Japan’s Takefusa Kubo, as he notched the lone goal for Samurai Blue. It was still a nice defensive effort for South Africa.

France vs. South Africa: Odds, picks and predictions

Prediction

France 2, South Africa 0

Money line (ML)

France (-550) is looking for the bounce-back game after getting crushed in its Olympic opener. Les Bleus will struggle to find open space but should be able to notch a goal in the first half.

I think France gets the second goal in the second half, making the CORRECT SCORE of FRANCE 2-0 (+525) the top play on the alternate lines.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (+125) is a little risky, as France has the potential to open it up against South Africa.

The latter showed outstanding defense against a decent Japanese side and will be looking to play a possession game by keeping it away from Les Bleus. South Africa should be able to slow it down enough for the Under result.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: Mexico vs. France odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Mexico vs. France odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Men’s Summer Olympics Group A soccer action Thursday, Mexico and France play in a 4 a.m. ET kickoff at Tokyo Stadium. Below, we preview the Mexico vs. France odds and lines, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

Mexico is a little at a disadvantage here, as the national team remains alive and well at the CONCACAF Gold Cup. So, this side is made up of mostly younger, prospect-type players. F Henry Martin, GK Guillermo Ochoa and MF Luis Romo do give El Tri a little bit of experience, too.

The senior team for France just completed EURO 2021, so stars like Mbappe are away from the squad. Experienced players like F Andre-Pierre Gignac and MF Florian Thauvin are in Tokyo, and 19-year-old striker Nathanael Mbuku is a future star.

Mexico vs. France: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 7:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Mexico +333 (bet $100 to win $333) | France -115 (bet $115 to win $100) | Draw +220

Prediction

France 2, Mexico 0

Money line (ML)

FRANCE (-115) is the clear-cut favorite, and it has the offense to make quite a bit of noise up front. The defending World Cup champs might not have Mbappe, but the cupboard is anything but bare.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-155) is the “lean”, as Mexico, in particular, could get off to quite a slow start. France could strike for the opening score in the first half, then play a possession game the rest of the way. I am not expecting a lot from Mexico in this very difficult group.

Euro 2020: France vs. Switzerland odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s France vs. Switzerland odds and lines, with UEFA EURO 2020 picks, tips, predictions and best bets.

In the sixth game of the Round of 16, favorite France takes on Switzerland Monday. The game will kick off at 3 p.m. ET at Arena Națională in Bucharest, Romania. Below, we preview the France vs. Switzerland odds and lines and make our best Euro 2020 bets, picks and predictions.

After winning the World Cup in Russia in 2018, France is looking for another win on the international stage. Previous Euro winner, Portugal, was knocked out of Euro 2020 Sunday.

France is the second-best national team, according to the FIFA World Rankings. However, this will be no cakewalk with 13th-ranked Switzerland on the other side. The Swiss finished third in Group A after tying Wales 1-1, beating Turkey 3-1 and losing 3-0 to Italy in the group stage.

France vs. Switzerland: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Sunday at 6:35 p.m. ET.

Prediction

France 2, Switzerland 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to FRANCE (-175) as Switzerland hasn’t looked as good as expected.

France MFs Paul Pogba an Kante will hold down the middle while the favorite hopes to get Fs Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe going. The firepower is just not matched.

The Swiss will really need a good game from winger Xherdan Shaqiri to have any hope at taking this to overtime. Switzerland has the pace, and France hasn’t looked overly dominant.

At the end of the day, the French are the better side. The value isn’t great, but it’s good enough to put half a unit on them to win in regulation.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (+115) as the French defense hasn’t been as dominant as anticipated.

France allowed 3 goals and scored 4 of its own in the group stage. In a tough group, those are relatively timid numbers. Switzerland scored 4 and gave up 5 through its first three games.

Neither team has shown much so far, and that should be expected to change as both are top-15 teams in the world. France has two of the world’s best attackers, and Switzerland is coming off a three-goal performance.

The only time Switzerland didn’t score was against a dominant Italian defense. Expect Switzerland to get one and France to still win. It’s a gamble, but the value is in the Over.

Euro 2020: France at Germany preview, odds and prediction

Previewing Tuesday’s France at Germany odds and lines, with UEFA EURO 2020 picks, tips, predictions and best bets.

Arguably the biggest game of the first slate of Euro 2020 group stage games is upon us. Germany and France, ranked 12th and 2nd, respectively, in the FIFA World Ranking, meet for a 3 p.m. ET kickoff Tuesday at Allianz Arena in Munich. Below, we preview the France vs. Germany odds and lines and make our best Euro 2020 bets, picks and predictions.

Germany comes in with a home-field advantage. While it may be a slight underdog, this team doesn’t lack star power. MF Toni Kroos will help man the middle while MF Leroy Sane likely occupies the edge.

Those two will dictate the pace of the game for Germany. Then, you have GK Manuel Neuer as the last line of defense. He’s arguably the best goalkeeper in the world.

France is bringing in an absolutely dynamic, quick, and skilled group of players led by young phenom F Kylian Mbappe. Other than Mbappe, MF Paul Pogba and MF Kante are the top stars. France should show its dominance in this tournament.

Prediction

France 2, Germany 0

Money line (ML)

Bet FRANCE (+165). Despite any rising conflicts, this team is just the most talented in the tournament.

Heading to Germany will be no easy feat, nor will getting past Neuer, but this team has shown resilience before, and will be primed to do it again.

France beat Albania and Moldova by a combined score of 4-1 in the qualifiers. Now with its entire roster in action, it should manage a victory.

Also, I don’t see too much attacking on the German side.

Germany scored 10 goals against Northern Ireland and Belarus to qualify, but France is a much different beast and should present a tough challenge right out of the gate.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS  because 2.5 is not going to be an easy mark to reach. Both teams have exceptional goalies, and it’s unlikely they allow much.

Neuer and France GK Hugo Lloris are both top-10 keepers. With Kante and Kroos a couple of the best defensive and possession-minded midfielders in the world, both teams should have keeping and pace.

This one feels like a low-scoring event.
