USMNT vs. Germany odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s USMNT vs. Germany odds and lines, with expert soccer picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The USMNT welcomes Germany to East Hartford, Connecticut in an international friendly Saturday. Kick from Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field is set for 3 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we preview BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the USMNT vs. Germany odds, and make our best expert soccer bets, picks and predictions.

The USMNT is 5-1 in its last 6 matches dating back to June 28 and 2-0 in international friendlies since September. Its last action was Sept. 12 when it beat Oman 4-0. In that match, the U.S. scored early and often with goals in the 13th, 60th, and 79th minutes along with an own goal by Oman in the 81st minute.

Germany beat France 2-1 Sept. 12, but before its victory, it was 0-1-4 in its last 5 matches dating back to March 28. A 4th-minute goal by F Thomas Muller gave the Germans a 1-0 lead until F Leroy Sane netted an 87th-minute goal to extend the lead to 2-0. They gave up an 89th-minute penalty kick to erase the clean sheet.

USMNT vs. Germany picks and predictions

Prediction

Germany 3, USA 1

Moneyline (ML)

BET GERMANY (-120).

While the United States has been in good form recently, it has not played as high caliber of teams as it will see when facing Germany. On the contrary, Germany is coming off of a statement win against France. The USMNT will certainly be looking to make some noise Saturday in front of its home crowd, but Germany outmatches the U.S. on both offense and defense, pointing towards a German victory.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-165).

Three of the last 4 meetings between these teams have resulted in more than 2.5 goals. With German attackers in Muller, Sane and F Niclas Fullkrug, Germany’s leading scorer with 4 goals in 5 matches, the U.S. defense will have its hands full. On the other side of the pitch, U.S. forwards Brandon Vazquez and Ricardo Pepi have been impactful on the score sheets, which will assist the Over in hitting. Expect a scoring thriller on Saturday.

2023 Women’s World Cup: South Korea vs. Germany odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s South Korea vs. Germany odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

South Korea (0-0-2) takes on Germany (1-0-1) in each nation’s final Group H match Thursday. Kickoff from Brisbane Stadium is set for 6 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the South Korea vs. Germany odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Germany entered the World Cup as one of the favorites to come out with the trophy. It looked every bit of that in a 6-0 win over Morocco to open up its tournament play on July 24. However, it lost 2-1 against Columbia Sunday, despite finishing with 5 more shots and 2 fewer shots on target. It also dominated possession with the ball for 68% of the match. Germany is FIFA’s 2nd ranked team in the world and will need a win to secure its advance to the knockout stage.

South Korea has disappointed with a 2-0 tournament-opening loss to Colombia on July 24 and a 1-0 loss to Morocco Sunday. It had just 2 fewer shots on goal than Colombia and managed just 43% possession. Against Morocco, it finished with 16 shots but none on frame. South Korea sits 17th in the FIFA World Rankings and cannot advance past this round even with a massive upset of Germany.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -160 | U: +115)

South Korea vs. Germany picks and predictions

Prediction

Germany 4, South Korea 1

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

While I wouldn’t call it a must-win scenario for Germany it could still be a vital game that it wouldn’t want to risk losing. Germany should be at the top of its game and is among the best nations in the world. It is a justified (-500) favorite but is far too expensive to play outright.

South Korea has lost both games and not even a draw is worth backing here.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-155).

Germany should be able to easily break through a porous South Korea defense. Germany will also have a physicality edge which should help it get more opportunities in front of goal. It scored 6 on Morocco.

Germany’s defense has also been subpar this year. It has allowed a goal in 4 of its last 5 games and allowed a goal to Vietnam and 3 to Zamia in summer friendlies. South Korea hasn’t scored yet in this tournament, but it managed 3 shots on goal against Colombia and 16 shots against Morocco. It could slip one past Germany here.

Expect a high-scoring game as South Korea should be playing with nothing to lose and Germany should want to dominate for the sake of its spot in the next round. Bet OVER 2.5 (-155).

2023 Women’s World Cup: Germany vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Germany vs. Colombia odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Germany (1 win, 0 draws, 0 losses) battles Colombia (1-0-0) Sunday. Kickoff in the Group H match from Allianz Stadium is set for 5:30 a.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Germany vs. Colombia odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Germany put a beatdown on Morocco in its 1st game, winning 6-0. It had 16 shots and 7 on target. It yielded Morocco just 6 shots and 4 on target. Germany ended with 75% of the game’s possession. Germany sits 2nd in the world per the FIFA Women’s Rankings. F Alexandra Popp had 2 goals in Germany’s 1st match, and she could be a candidate for the Golden Boot.

Colombia beat South Korea in its opener 2-0 Monday. It ended with 17 shots and 5 on target, possessing for 57% of the match. South Korea ended with just 5 shots and 3 on frame. Colombia sits 25th in the rankings. Korea sits 17th, so it was a solid win for Colombia. With a win, Colombia can advance to the knockout stage.

Germany vs. Colombia odds

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -160 | U: +115)

Germany vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

Germany 2, Colombia 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Germany is the better side here, and it is among the most technically gifted teams in the world.

However, it was able to get some help from a sloppy Morocco defense, which allowed 2 own goals, so expect a somewhat closer match. At (-450), there is little value in betting Germany to win, but it should be too much better in the final third to bet again.

The books also heavily expected Germany to be the only side to score with BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE NO (-185), which also isn’t worth the juice.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+115).

Both sides showed a strong defensive acumen in their respective opener. Both teams held their opponent scoreless. Colombia allowed just 3 shots on target, which should bode well against a high-octane German attack.

Books already assume Colombia won’t score, and Germany held Morocco to just 4 shots on goal and 25% possession. That might be a similar story Sunday. The last time Germany scored 3 or more goals, before its match with Morocco, was Sept. 6, 2022.

It isn’t necessarily a scoring machine, and Colombia held up well against a top-25 South Korea side. That said, back the UNDER 2.5 (+115).

2023 Women’s World Cup: Germany vs. Morocco odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Germany vs. Morocco odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[anyclip pubname=”2129″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8190″]

Germany battles Morocco on Monday in the first Women’s World Cup action for both nations. Kickoff in the Group H battle from Melbourne Rectangular Stadium is set for 4:30 a.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Germany vs. Morocco odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Germany earned a bid for the World Cup by winning Group H in UEFA qualification last September. Since then Germany has played 9 matches, winning 5, losing 3 and drawing 1. It beat USA 2-1 in a friendly on Nov. 10. Germany is led by F Alexandra Popp, who has 128 caps and 62 international goals.

Morocco qualified by being the quarterfinal winner of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. In 2023, it has posted a 2-3-2 record. It does have draws against Italy and Switzerland, both of which are top-20 nations. F Ghizlane Chebbak is the most notable player. She captains the team and has had 61 caps and 21 international goals.

Germany is 2nd in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings and Morocco is 72nd.

  • Over/Under: 3.5 (O: +130 | U: -185)

Germany vs. Morocco picks and predictions

Prediction

Germany 4, Morocco 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Germany is the heavy favorite here, and the odds strongly suggest Morocco isn’t going to score either. BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (-350) isn’t worth backing. Neither is Germany to win outright at (-1000).

Germany has the talent and experience to go all the way in this tournament and truly challenge the top-ranked USA. Morocco is making its Women’s World Cup debut and won’t have the firepower to keep pace against a powerhouse like Germany.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 3.5 (-185).

Germany has a few of the best players in the world, and it should move along flawlessly. M Lena Oberdorf and Popp were both ranked top-10 players. The talent for Germany in the attack is there, and it should break through consistently.

Germany has poured it on against weaker sides, scoring 8 on Bulgaria in a qualifying match last season. Germany has scored in its last 4 games, one of which was against Brazil and another against the Netherlands.

Morocco hasn’t scored in 5 straight matches, so it may not be much help on the total. It did score 5 goals in its 1st 2 games of 2023, so it may be able to squeeze 1 in at some point.

But, backing a dynamic Germany attack to show its best is worth the wager. Take OVER 3.5 (-185).

Germany vs. Ukraine odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Germany vs. Ukraine odds and lines, with soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Germany welcomes Ukraine to Weserstadion Monday with kickoff from Breman, Germany, set for noon ET. Below, we preview BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Germany vs. Ukraine odds, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

This will be the 1st of a string of friendlies for the German National Team. Germany will take on Poland Friday and then Columbia on June 20. Bayern Munich F Leroy Sane, Man City M Ilkay Gundogan and M Chelsea Kai Havertz are among the key names on the German side. Since a disappointing 2022 World Cup, Germany has taken down Peru 2-0 and lost 3-2 to Belgium.

Ukraine played 9 times throughout 2022, but failed to make the World Cup. In its lone 2023 performance, a UEFA EURO qualifier, it lost 2-0 to England. Arsenal M Oleksandr Zinchenko is the key player to keep an eye on.

Germany vs. Ukraine picks and predictions

Prediction

Germany 2, Ukraine 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Despite not getting to the knockout stage in the World Cup, Germany is one of the most complete teams in the world. From the backline to the forwards, it has enough depth and firepower to light up a thin Ukraine side.

While the score in the Ukraine-England friendly was 2-0, Ukraine was held without a shot on target while England had 8 and 18 shots in total. Germany isn’t that far off England in terms of talent, but at (-300), it is far too expensive to play outright.

Over/Under (O/U)

TAKE ALTERNATE UNDER 2.5 (+140).

These teams have played 8 times in their history, and the Under at this total is 4-4. However, it is a friendly, so the top talent for Germany may not be available or may see limited minutes.

That said, Ukraine did hold England to just 2 goals and was heavily limited offensively, which should be repeated by a strong German backline. Germany has gone Under this total in 8 of its 13 matches since the start of 2022, so scoring hasn’t been a key component for it lately either.

Put it all together and take the UNDER 2.5 (+140).

2022 World Cup: Spain vs. Germany odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Spain vs. Germany odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Germany (0 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws) battles Spain (1-0-0) Sunday in a Group E  group stage match. Kickoff from Al Bayt Stadium is set for 2 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Spain vs. Germany odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Spain crushed Costa Rica in 1 of the more impressive 1st game displays. The No. 7 team in FIFA’s world rankings scored 7 goals on 8 shots on target while controlling possession for 82% of the time and holding Costa Rica without a single shot.

F Ferran Torres was the only player for Spain to score multiple times as 6 players managed to find the back of the net. The Spanish experience and poise looked better than ever.

Germany didn’t have similar success. FIFA’s No. 11-ranked team is considered one of the best teams in the tournament, but it lost 2-1 to Japan in their 1st game and now have their backs against the wall.

Germany had more than double the shots as Japan (26-12) and had 5 more shots on target (9-4). However, the only German goal was a penalty kick from M Ilkay Gundogan.

Moneyline (ML)

LEAN DRAW (+275).

Most of the action here should come on Spain and rightfully so. While Germany didn’t struggle in their opener, they did lose. They had 74% of possession and more than double the shots and shots on goal.

With GK Manuel Neuer and an extremely talented midfield, Germany should be able to limit Spain. Germany must get a result to stay in the tournament.

Spain is talented and has an equally impressive midfield, but considering what Germany needs and the passion they should be playing with, expect their side to push for any points.

I think they’ll get something here, and the Draw (+275) is the best money line value.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+115).

The midfield is the strength for both sides as Spain has experience and poise in M Sergio Busquets. M Gavi, at 18 years old, is also a budding star. Expect his touch to help Spain.

While both teams did get 15-plus shots in their 1st game, the defense, and more specifically the goal keepers, should be of much higher class and help limit the goals.

Leading into the tournament, Spain’s only real competition in 2022 was a pair of matches against Portugal and Switzerland in which those games would have been 1-3 O/U.

This should be an intense game with quality touches and solid defending. I would back the Under 2.5 (+115) here.

Germany vs. Italy UEFA Nations League odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Germany vs. Italy odds and lines, with UEFA Nations League picks and predictions.

Germany (0 wins, 0 losses, 3 draws) welcomes Italy (1-0-2) to Borussia-Park in Mönchengladbach Monday. Kickoff for the 4th of 6 group stage games is set for 2:45 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Germany vs. Italy odds and lines, and make our best UEFA Nations League bets, picks and predictions.

The 2 global soccer powerhouses will highlight just a handful of premier games in this round of the group stage. The teams played to a 1-1 draw June 4.

Wildly enough, every one of Germany’s 3 group stage matches has resulted in a 1-1 draw. Italy, the No. 6 team in FIFA’s rankings, has drawn twice — 1-1 against Germany and 0-0 against England. They beat Hungary 2-1.

Having made global news when they were bounced from World Cup qualifying, this will be the top training ground for a new wave of Italian talent. They’re led by 25-year-old Roma M Lorenzo Pellegrini, who has 2 of the team’s 3 goals in the UEFA Nations League.

As for Germany, FIFA’s 12th-ranked team, they’re going to be a big-time contender in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. A combination of M Thomas Müller and F Kai Havertz lead the attack while GK Manuel Neuer anchors the backline.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -103 | U: -117)

[tipico]

Prediction

Germany 1, Italy 0

Money line (ML)

BET GERMANY -133.

Germany has an extremely talented side with many big-name European talents taking the pitch. While Germany didn’t come out on top against Italy in the 1st meeting, it did have double the shots on target and also had 68% of the possession in that battle.

Most of the time, a team with those splits will win, and with this match in Germany, the home side should have the edge.

While they did play on Saturday, Man City M İlkay Gündoğan and Muller both didn’t start, so they should be rested enough to play the bulk of the game against Italy.

Italy has just 11 shots on target through 3 games. Given their lack of consistent attempts, I’d back Germany to come out on top as they should have in the 1st matchup.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-117).

Italy has seen 5 goals netted between it and its opponent. Germany can barely top that with 6. The only game between the 2 teams that would have gone over this total is Italy’s 2-1 win over Austria.

As noted as well, Italy hasn’t had a powerful attack. They do not have a player in the Nations League that has more than 10 goals. It’s an extremely inexperienced side.

Germany has only scored 3 goals in 3 games, so their attack hasn’t erupted like many expected. Germany has had 11 shots on target in 28 attempts, so they have struggled to put it on the frame.

Both teams have had issues in the Nations League, and I expect their current form to yield a low-scoring affair.

Against the spread (ATS)

AUSTRALIA -8.5 (-115) has been a well-oiled machine on offense and has a deep roster chock-full of NBA talent. Germany might keep this game fairly close in the first half before the Aussies pull away and secure the double-digit victory.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 172.5 (-110) is the way to go for Australia, as it has averaged 85.0 points per game through two group play games. Germany coughed up 92 points against Nigeria, so Australia should flirt with the century mark Saturday.

Nigeria vs. Germany: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nigeria 84, Germany 77

Money line (ML)

Nigeria (-185) is a little on the expensive side, and I’d rather play the spread for a better value for a win by at least 5 points.

Germany could have easily won against Italy and could easily spring the mild upset here, too.

PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

NIGERIA -4.5 (-110) is a much better value laying the points against a German side that easily could have topped Italy but had a disastrous fourth quarter to turn a win into a 10-point loss.

Germany was sloppy in its opening game, turning it over 14 times, and it cannot do that against a Nigerian side which is much more talented than the Italians.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 164.5 (+100) is the lean, ever so slightly. Germany has two legitimate scoring threats in Bonga and Moritz, and then the drop-off is rather precipitous.

Nigeria has several options like Precious Achiuwa, Jahlil Okafor, Josh Okogie and Ekpe Udoh, who could give the Germans fits defensively.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: Brazil vs. Germany odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Brazil vs. Germany odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer Group D action Thursday, Brazil and Germany play in a 7:30 a.m. ET kickoff at International Stadium in Yokohama. Below, we preview the Brazil vs. Germany odds and lines, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

We get a gold medal rematch from the 2016 Rio Olympics, and Brazil hopes lightning can strike twice. It pushed past Germany on penalty kicks for the gold in 2016, but Neymar isn’t in Japan, while MF Douglas Luiz and F Richarlison are both present. The 20-year-old sensation F Gabriel Martinelli will need to do some early heavy lifting.

Germany pounded Brazil 7-1 during the 2014 World Cup, but it’s looking for revenge after settling for silver in Rio. MF Nadiem Amiri is a future star who could break out in these Olympics, while F Max Kruse and GK Florian Muller provide a steadying veteran presence.

Prediction

Brazil 1, Germany 0

Money line (ML)

BRAZIL (+100) at even-money is a nice wager in this battle of the titans in Group D. Olympic soccer fires right out of the gate with some attractive matchups. Alves and the rest of Brazil will be able to get it done.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-145) is the best play on the board in this one, and I’d even roll the dice on the alternate line of UNDER 1.5 (+195) for a chance to nearly double up.

Once both sides are at full strength, I wouldn’t roll the dice on that wager. But these teams will be acclimating, getting their sea legs, and I expect sloppy, slow play out of the gate in the first days of the tourney.
