Sam Ehlinger continues to impress in the NFL preseason

Sam Ehlinger is putting together a fantastic preseason.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Sam Ehlinger is putting together a fantastic presason so far.

Ehlinger followed his excellent performance last week against the Buffalo Bills with another great outing on Saturday. He carved up the Detroit Lions’ secondary for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Ehlinger completed nine of 11 passes for a 157.8 quarterback rating.

Ehlinger found wide receiver Micheal Strachan in the corner of the end zone from 15 yards out for his first touchdown of the day.

Report: Miami hires former Texas standout Rod Wright to coach defensive ends

This former Longhorns star will join Mario Cristobal’s staff at Miami.

Mario Cristobal continues to add to his new coaching staff at Miami, this time with former Texas defensive lineman, Rod Wright.

Wright played a major role in Texas’ back-to-back Rose Bowl victories in 2004 and 2005. He secured both All-American and All-Big 12 honors in his collegiate career.

After an injury-plagued NFL career where he played for five seasons, Wright transitioned to a coaching role. He has made stops at Sam Houston State, East Carolina and most recently UTSA. Wright served as the Roadrunners co-defensive coordinator for a historic 2021 season.

Wright is not the only coach with Texas ties on Miami’s staff, as former head coach Charlie Strong was hired to coach linebackers for the Hurricanes. Wright and Strong on the staff will give Miami some recruiting ties to the state of Texas.

WATCH: Malcolm Roach bench press reps at NFL Combine

Former Texas defensive lineman Malcolm Roach is doing everything he can to improve his draft stock at the NFL Combine.

He isn’t being talked about enough.

Defensive lineman Malcolm Roach is an underrated draft prospect out of Texas. Much of the hype surrounds safety Brandon Jones and receivers Devin Duvernay and Collin Johnson, but Roach continues to make his case to be put on the radar.

Although former defensive coordinator Todd Orlando’s scheme did not fit to Roach’s strengths, it’s clear he has high potential to make an impact in the National Football League.

Roach received an invite to the 2020 NFL Combine, where he completed 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.

Roach was a four-year defensive lineman at Texas who played in 42 career games with 18 starts. He spent time at both defensive end and linebacker and was one of six Longhorns elected by teammates as a team captain for the 2019 season.

To receive more exposure with NFL scouts and executives, Roach competed in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl this past January. He was voted to the All-Practice team and was a team captain.

Roach projects to be a defensive tackle at the next level.
