5-star LSU cornerback target sets commitment date

Ellis Robinson IV, a five-star 2024 prospect from IMG Academy, is making his decision on Feb. 1.

LSU will be eagerly awaiting a decision from one of the top players in the 2024 recruiting class as cornerback [autotag]Ellis Robinson IV[/autotag] will announce his college commitment on Feb. 1 — which is also national signing day for the 2023 class.

The IMG Academy prospect is rated as a five-star recruit and ranks No. 13 nationally per 247Sports and seventh per On3. He recently trimmed his list of finalists to Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, LSU and Miami and told On3’s Chad Simmons that he will “definitely” commit to one of those finalists.

Robinson visited Miami this past weekend and Georgia the prior weekend. He has taken visits to all of his finalists — including a trip to LSU on Sept. 17 — except for the Buffaloes. He told On3’s Chad Simmons that his decision will come down to relationships.

“I am big on family. That was something I was looking for in a school. I have found that. With all five schools on my list, I created some strong relationships, but at one school, it is different. It has that family feeling to it. At that school, it is not just the relationships with the coaches, but with the players and the people around the school. The feeling around the people at that school is different for me.”

LSU will hope to close things out with one of the top players on the board in next year’s cycle.

LSU makes top 10 for 2024 four-star wide receiver

The Tigers made the cut for Florida receiver James Madison II.

[autotag]James Madison II[/autotag] is a 2024 four-star wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who recently included LSU in his top 10. He plays for St. Thomas Aquinas, a nationally-ranked high school football program that finished as the No. 6 team in the country at the end of the season.

The Raiders went 14-0 this season and won the 2022 3M state championship over Homestead 38-21. Madison is a star wide receiver for the Raiders and is ranked as high as the No. 12 wide receiver in Florida for the class of 2024.

LSU currently has eight commitments for the 2024 class including one wide receiver, [autotag]Joseph Stone[/autotag] from Buford, Georgia. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] has signed back-to-back top-ten recruiting classes and he is well on his way to signing another as this class is currently ranked as the No. 2 class in the country.

There’s no telling how the wide receiver room will look after next season with the transfer portal being as crazy as it is, Madison would be a great addition to it.

4-star LSU target has made his decision

Jordan Hall isn’t announcing his commitment until the 22nd, but he has reportedly already made up his mind.

The Tigers — alongside the other finalists — will have to wait until Jordan Hall makes things official on Thursday, but the four-star defensive lineman from Westside High School in Jacksonville, Florida, has reportedly made up his mind, according to On3′ Chad Simmons (subscription required).

Hall — the No. 56 overall player in the On3 Consensus rankings who is coming off his final official visit to Georgia — has also taken trips to Florida, Alabama and LSU. All four finalists have been active in recruiting him down the stretch with home visits this week, and the Tigers were in to see him on Tuesday.

Simmons said he still thinks the Bulldogs have the edge, and they are also a heavy favorite on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. However, he did say that all the finalists still have a shot here.

This one’s probably Georgia with the Gators as an unlikely second option, but LSU will certainly continue to push until Hall signs on the dotted line.

LSU offers 2025 four-star cornerback from Florida

The 2025 prospect is already considered one of the top players in his class.

[autotag]Chris Ewald Jr.[/autotag] is a 2025 four-star cornerback from Hollywood, Florida where he plays for Chaminade-Madonna Prep. The Lions are currently 13-0 this season with only one game remaining.

The Lions will play against Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) this Saturday for their final game. The Lions won the FHSAA 1M state championship 48-14 over Clearwater Central Catholic last Thursday.

Film Analysis: Ewald is rated as a four-star prospect for the 2025 class already, so he has had a lot of colleges checking him out even though he is just a sophomore. He has incredible ball skills that allow him to always find his way to the football for key interceptions.

LSU makes the top 12 for 5-star linebacker in 2024 class

Capers is a five-star recruit, and the Miami prospect is the No. 1 linebacker in 2024. He included LSU in a blue-blood-heavy top-12.

The No. 1 linebacker in the country for the class of 2024 in [autotag]TJ Capers[/autotag] has narrowed down his list of schools to 12, and the LSU Tigers have made the cut.

The Tigers join Penn State, Miami, Texas A&M, Georgia, Michigan, Louisville, USC, Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio State and Michigan State.

Capers plays for the Columbus Explorers in Miami, Florida. The Explorers are 13-1 this season and will play Apopka for the FHSAA 4 M state championship next Saturday. LSU landed one of the best linebackers in the country last season when they signed [autotag]Harold Perkins Jr.[/autotag]

That signing has paid dividends this season. Capers is that kind of guy.

Currently, he has no Crystal Ball projections, and there is no clear favorite to land him per on3. As the early signing period nears for the 2023 recruiting class, expect the class of 2024’s recruitment to heat up significantly.

LSU is preparing for their bowl game as they play Purdue in the Citrus Bowl on January 2nd.
