Gasparilla Bowl: UCF vs. Florida odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s UCF Knights vs. Florida Gators odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The UCF Knights (8-4) and Florida Gators (6-6) clash in Thursday night’s Gasparilla Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the UCF vs. Florida odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

UCF is 5-1 over its last six games. A Knights defense that struggled against the run in the first half of the season has improved in that area. Central Florida has allowed more than 140 yards rushing just once over its last six games. But Gus Malzahn‘s squad has also had an easy schedule over the back half of the season, so Thursday’s game against a high-powered UF offense figures to be a step up in class.

Florida running backs coach and special teams coordinator Greg Knox will coach the Gators, a program in transition and headed into the Billy Napier administration after Napier was named head coach earlier this month. Florida went 2-4 straight up and 0-6 against the spread over its last six regular-season games. The Gators do sport an offense that has averaged 470.2 total yards per contest; that ranks 11th in FBS.

Prediction

Florida 31, UCF 24

Money line

Take advantage of the narrative that Florida has quit on the season. The Gators had two tough midseason games — losses at LSU and versus No. 1 Georgia — that seemed to sour everything moving forward. But UF was undone by penalties, turnovers, and iffy third-down numbers in setbacks against Missouri and South Carolina.

Florida’s performance in its last game — Nov. 27 vs. Florida State — showed some backbone. The Gator roster is loaded with talented players auditioning for roles in the rollover to the Billy Napier-led 2022 season.

TAKE FLORIDA (-270).

Against the spread

Look for the UF ground game to crank out some big plays, and for a perhaps-better-than-advertised Gator pass defense to help nurse a 6-to-10-point win. A 6-point win comes up as an ATS loss here, but the FLORIDA -6.5 (-110) play is worth an investment.

Over/Under

In UCF’s last 10 games vs. SEC foes, the Under has gone 8-1-1.

Look for the run games to be in charge of this one. BACK THE UNDER 55.5 (-110).

Florida at Oklahoma odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Florida at Oklahoma odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 12 Florida Gators (6-0) and Oklahoma Sooners (6-1) meet Tuesday night in Norman, Okla. The contest at Lloyd Noble Center is slated for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we look at the Florida vs. Oklahoma odds and lines and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Florida has posted excellent defensive performances in remaining undefeated through a half-dozen contests. The Gators have held foes to a 39.0% mark from the floor, and they head into December ranked 10th in the nation in points allowed (55.7 per game). Wednesday’s game in Norman will mark UF’s first true road tilt of the 2021-22 season.

The Sooners have been involved in several close games so far — perhaps a couple too many. That includes Oklahoma’s last home game Wednesday when it struggled through 25 minutes against Houston Baptist. OU would win that game 57-40 despite shooting just 37.5% from the field.

Florida at Oklahoma odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:15 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Florida -112 (bet $112 to win $100) | Oklahoma -108 (bet $100 to win $108)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Florida -1.5 (+100) | Oklahoma +1.5 (-125)

Florida at Oklahoma odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Oklahoma 68, Florida 67

Money line

Oklahoma plays really good defense and can stay in this game down to the wire by being exceptional on the defensive glass and by not relying on distance shooting or scoring points in bunches.

The Sooners can dial the pace to a point lower than the Gators may be comfortable with, and a Florida team playing a true road game for the first time — and against a veteran OU five — is gettable to the point that Oklahoma -115 is a fair price. Ohio State plays a slower pace than the Sooners and the Gators trailed the Buckeyes for much of a neutral-site game Nov. 24. UF won that game by getting to the line 33 times, which is certainly an out-of-bounds, rarely repeatable, number.

TAKE OKLAHOMA (-108).

Against the spread

With an expected close game, there would be just slight interest in following this Oklahoma +1.5 (-125) play. Some insurance on a one-point Sooner loss in the -118 price range would make sense if the line swings that way. Otherwise, AVOID.

Over/Under

The O/U bettors look to have this one surrounded. Finding value on either side will be tough. PASS.

Florida State at Florida odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Florida State Seminoles at Florida Gators odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida State Seminoles (5-6) visit the Florida Gators (5-6) Saturday for a noon ET kickoff at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville (on ESPN). Below, we look at the Florida State vs. Florida odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

This non-conference showdown is the regular-season finale for both teams, but there’s more on the line than just winning a heated rivalry. Both programs need one more victory to become bowl eligible.

Florida State enters with a two-game win streak, recently upsetting Boston College 26-23 as 3-point road underdogs last Saturday. QB Jordan Travis threw for 251 with 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions as FSU had to fend off a rally in the second half after building a 26-3 with 12:23 to go in the third quarter.

Florida will play its first game after firing head coach Dan Mullen Sunday. A day earlier, the Gators suffered a stunning 24-23 overtime loss at Missouri as 9.5-point favorites. Special teams coordinator and running backs coach Greg Knox will serve as interim coach for the time being.

Florida State at Florida odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida State 27, Florida 24

Money line

BACK FLORIDA STATE (+125) for a HALF UNIT.

These are two teams headed in different directions. Before the Boston College win, FSU upset Miami 31-28 two weeks ago as a 2.5-point home dog.

Meanwhile, Florida is on an 0-5 ATS run and is 1-4 SU in its last five games.

Look for the Seminoles to close out their regular season with another instate victory, while the Gators will be focused on who will be their next head coach.

Against the spread

FLORIDA STATE +3.5 (-125) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager – as the Seminoles will avenge back-to-back losses in this series.

ATS records: Florida State 5-6 | Florida 3-8

While the rivals didn’t play last season because the SEC only scheduled conference games due to COVID-19, the ‘Noles lost 40-17 at the Gators in 2019 and 41-14 at home in 2018.

Florida covered those contests as 17-point and 8.5-point favorites, respectively.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 58.5 (-120) to WIN 0.5 UNITS.

O/U records: Florida State 4-7 | Florida 5-6

The Under is 3-0 in the Seminoles’ last three games as they averaged 23.7 points per game (PPG).

Toss out the Gators’ 70-52 win over cupcake Samford two weeks ago and they’ve averaged 15.7 PPG in their three past games.

Florida at Missouri odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Florida Gators at Missouri Tigers odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Gators (5-5, 2-5 SEC) visit the Missouri Tigers (5-5, 2-4) Saturday at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Florida vs. Missouri odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Gators and Tigers square off in Columbia, Missouri and someone is going to reach bowl eligibility. Florida posted a season-high 70 points last week, but they also allowed 52 points to FCS Samford. The Gators are 0-4 ATS across the past four outings.

The Tigers won 31-28 against South Carolina last week, covering for the second straight outing after opening the season 0-8 ATS in the first eight games. The Over is 7-2 across the past nine outings.

Florida at Missouri odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 41, Missouri 37

Money line

Florida (-340) will cost you nearly three and a half times your potential return, and that’s just too risky on a .500 team on the road.

AVOID, and look to the line.

Against the spread

MISSOURI +9.5 (-107) was the team to fade early in the season, but the Tigers have back-to-back covers, while Florida -9.5 (-115) just had an FCS team hang 52 on them. The Gators’ defense has melted in recent weeks, yielding 34 or more points in four straight outings, an average of 43.8 PPG.

Over/Under

The OVER 69.5 (-110) is the play in this one. Florida’s defense has imploded recently, and Missouri has scored 24 or more points in eight of its 10 games this season. These teams know how to score, and it should be a high-scoring affair at Faurot Field between these two .500 teams.

Florida State at Florida odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Florida State at Florida odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seminoles opened with a 105-70 win over Penn on Wednesday night, covering a 19.5-point number as the Over easily connected. Four starters went for 14 or more points, including F Malik Osborne with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

The Gators scratched out a 74-61 win over visiting Elon, although the Phoenix came back in the second half to grab the cover. The Under also ended up hitting by just one point.

Florida State at Florida odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida State 77, Florida 71

Money line

FLORIDA STATE (+102) is a value play as slim ‘dogs on the road in Gainesville. The Seminoles have won seven straight meetings in this series, going 8-0 ATS in all eight.

The last time the Gators won outright against the Seminoles was 67-66 back on Nov. 29, 2013. This Florida State team is ranked and not about to let the rival Gators knock them off the tracks early.

Against the spread

FLORIDA STATE +1.5 (-112) is not quite as good of a play as the money line. Unless you are dead-set on Florida -1.5 (-108) winning this game by one point, play FSU on the money line.

Over/Under

OVER 144.5 (-112) is the lean here, as the Seminoles piled up over 100 points of offense in its opener against the Quakers. This FSU team will look to play up-tempo against Florida in Gainesville, trying to get off to a quick start.

The Over cashed in this meeting last season, and Florida State has gone for 81 or more points in four of the past five times these two teams have met.

Florida at South Carolina odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Florida at South Carolina odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Gators (4-4, 2-4 SEC) and South Carolina Gamecocks (4-4, 1-4) tussle Saturday in an SEC East Division crossover game in Columbia, S.C. Kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Florida vs. South Carolina odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Florida is 1-3 since being ranked ninth after its first four games, including a 34-7 loss to No. 1 Georgia last week. UF has been falling behind in games which has cut down on the leverage of its sixth-ranked run game (242.9 yards per game).

The Gamecocks have sported a solid pass defense but have been subpar in stopping the run (169.3 yards per game, 87th). They are coming off a bye week and a 44-14 loss Oct. 23 at Texas A&M their last time out.

Florida at South Carolina odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 31, South Carolina 24

Money line

South Carolina was abysmal at Texas A&M, turning the ball over 3 times and not scoring until the fourth quarter while producing fewer than 200 total yards. The Gamecocks are a combined minus-6 in turnover margin over their last three games.

However, first-year head coach Shane Beamer does have the Gamecocks playing solid defense. South Carolina has done well in limiting explosive plays, even in the run game.

Against a Florida team that is perhaps too far over its skis in drive finishes and stops — compared with how it moves the ball elsewhere on the field — the GAMECOCKS (+600) are a solid value wager in the event they can pull off the upset.

Against the spread

The Gators are 0-6 ATS in their last six games as road favorites and are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five meetings against the Gamecocks.

Money has steadily come in on the home side during the week, and this line has moved 1.5-to-2 points at most houses. However, there is still some value to be had on SOUTH CAROLINA +17.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The game flow here plays out to a low-to-mid-50s contest. The public has this total surrounded: PASS.

Florida at LSU odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Florida at LSU odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Gators (4-2, 2-2 SEC) visit the LSU Tigers (3-3, 1-2) in a Saturday SEC crossover tilt at noon ET at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. Below, we look at the Florida vs. LSU odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

No. 17 Florida bounced back from its Oct. 2 loss at Kentucky with a 42-0 drubbing over Vanderbilt last Saturday. The Gators held the ball for just 23 minutes and 50 seconds, but they outgained the Commodores 479 yards to 287. UF averages 504.2 total yards per contest, which ranks 10th. Junior dual-threat QB Emory Jones leads Florida in rushing with 479 yards, and he has completed 68.2% of his passes.

LSU was just beat by No. 11 Kentucky 42-21. The Tigers trailed by multiple scores for nearly 45 minutes of the game. The setback marked the Tigers’ second in as many weeks after an Oct. 2 loss to Auburn. LSU was outgained in both losses and has posted fewer yards than its opponents in four of six games this season.

Florida at LSU odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 42, LSU 21

Money line

The tag here has drifted a bit too far to the Florida side during the week. PASS unless there is some unexpected pull back to the -425 range.

Against the spread

Florida has tallied over 500 yards per game despite playing some decent defensive teams. This LSU defense will not be added to that group.

The Gators are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings with the Tigers. They are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 in Death Valley.

Peg this one as a solid two-touchdown win for Florida. The Gators offensive line holds all the cards in this matchup against the LSU defensive front. UF can run the ball and stay on schedule and game-control this one throughout.

TAKE THE GATORS -12.5 (-112).

Over/Under

A windy day in Baton Rouge, La., may keep the ball on the ground more — but advantage Florida. And UF is so strong in the run game, the points will still be there. The Gators getting to 42-or-more here would not be a surprise.

BACK THE OVER 60.5 (-108), but the lean here is less than on the UF side. Consider a partial-unit play and also holding off to see if this figure drifts down as kickoff approaches.

Vanderbilt at Florida odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Vanderbilt at Florida odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Vanderbilt Commodores (2-3, 0-1 SEC) head south to take on the No. 18 Florida Gators (3-2, 1-2) Saturday. Kickoff from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville is set for noon ET. Below, we look at the Vanderbilt vs. Florida odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings according to the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The Gators suffered their second loss in three weeks with a 20-13 road loss at the Kentucky Wildcats last week. They had played well in a 31-29 loss against the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 3 in their previous defeat. Florida has been dominant offensively with 29 or more points scored in four of its five games.

The Commodores’ traditionally weak program has taken down UConn and Colorado State for their two victories, but they suffered a 62-0 loss to the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs in Week 4 in their only other game against a ranked opponent.

The Gators have yet to outscore a team by even 25 points, despite games against Florida Atlanta, South Florida and Tennessee – all games where they came in as heavy favorites. The Gators have yet to top 42 points this season.

Vandy has been surprisingly mediocre this season with two wins after losing all its games last year.

Handing Colorado State a loss was impressive for this program. While they were crushed by Georgia, the Bulldogs are a level above everyone not named Alabama.

They haven’t lost by more than 20 outside the Georgia game. The Commodores won’t be able to hang with the Gators, but I do like them to lose by fewer than 39.

Over/Under

BET on the UNDER 60.5 (-112) as the best value. Both teams have gone Over this total just twice this season. While I expect Vandy to cover, it likely won’t get more than 20 points.

The Gators gave up 31 to Alabama but haven’t given up more than 20 to any other opponent. Florida will have to do the heavy lifting for this total to go Over, and given that it’s scored under 40 points in three straight matches, it will likely take the pedal off the gas late.

Florida at Kentucky odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Florida at Kentucky odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 23 Kentucky Wildcats (4-0, 2-0 SEC) host the No. 9 Florida Gators (3-1, 1-1) Saturday at 6 p.m. ET at Kroger Field. Below, we look at the Florida vs. Kentucky odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings according to the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Kentucky has played one of the softest schedules in the country, and while it enters this matchup undefeated, it won each of its last three games by 7 or fewer points. This team’s calling card has been its defensive play, particularly against the run, as the Wildcats are allowing just 87.8 rushing yards per game (21st nationally).

Florida has had a tougher path to this one; its only blemish is a 31-29 loss to No. 1 Alabama in a game that could have gone either way. The Gators showed no signs of a hangover after that loss as they pummeled the Tennessee Volunteers 38-14 at home last week.

Florida has a lethal rushing attack that is the best in the nation at 7.5 yards per carry. QB Emory Jones has looked better in every game, most recently going 21-for-27 with 2 TD and 0 INT last week.

Florida at Kentucky odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 35, Kentucky 24

Money line

Florida has won this matchup 33 out of the last 34 times; the lone Wildcat win since 1987 was in 2018. Kentucky hasn’t shown enough to warrant even a small-unit dart, so PASS on the money line and target the spread.

Against the spread

Although Kentucky is 3-1 ATS it hasn’t shown the ability to pull away from some pretty soft competition. Florida is hitting its stride with comfortable conference covers in each of their last two games against Alabama and Tennessee.

Take FLORIDA -7.5 (-110) here; don’t worry that they’re on the road.

Over/Under

These two teams are a combined 5-3 on the Over so far through their eight combined games. Florida is hitting its stride offensively and Kentucky should score just enough to push this OVER 55.5 (-103).

Tennessee at Florida odds, expert picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Tennessee at Florida odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Tennessee Volunteers (2-1) visit the Florida Gators (2-1) for an SEC East showdown at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Fla., Saturday for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff. Below, we look at the Tennessee vs. Florida odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Tennessee bounced back from a Week 2 loss to Pittsburgh with a 56-0 rout of FCS foe Tennessee Tech last week. The setback against the Panthers stands out, as the Vols were minus-3 in the turnover column in that contest and they were undone by 134 yards in penalties.

Florida is No. 11 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, powered by USA TODAY Sports, and is getting a lot of attention for its game against Alabama last week. The Gators outgained the Crimson Tide, 439 yards to 324, and all five of UF’s scoring drives were 75 yards-plus.

The Gators are 15-2 straight up in the head-to-head series since 2004.

PASS on the juice-drowned prices here.

Against the spread

The Gators are 0-5-1 ATS in their last six games as favorites. Florida had some solid defensive days in wins over FAU and USF but those teams have second-division offenses.

Figure Florida as being banged up and by the end of this game, all too willing to play out a two-score victory. Peg Tennessee as being balanced enough and improved enough to live up to that same score range.

BACK THE VOLUNTEERS +19.5 (-108). It’s a bit of a play on a powerful force in nature and sports betting: gravity.

Over/Under

The Under is 3-1 across the last four meetings in this series dating back to 2017.

Tennessee has logged some solid defensive havoc numbers so far. With enough of a nod to UT and respect for the balance and patience that could well unfold here, BACK THE UNDER 63.5 (-108).
