March Madness: Colorado vs. Florida odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Colorado vs. Florida odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Colorado Buffaloes (25-10) lock up with the Florida Gators (24-11) Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. (TBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Colorado vs. Florida odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The 10-seed Colorado fell to the Oregon Ducks 73-65 in the Pac-12 Championship Game Saturday. They followed up their strong conference tourney showing by defeating Boise State 60-53 in the First Four game Wednesday. F Tristan de Silva led the Buffs with 20 points, and G KJ Simpson added 19 points, 11 boards and 4 assists. Simpson leads the Buffaloes with 19.6 PPG. Colorado went 2-2 against ranked opponents this year.

Seventh-seeded Florida, No. 23 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, was blown out 86-67 by the Auburn Tigers in the SEC title game Sunday. G Walter Clayton Jr., who led the Gators with 17.1 PPG, struggled with just 13 points on 3-for-10 shooting. Florida went 3-6 against ranked opponents this season.

Colorado vs. Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado 84, Florida 81

Moneyline

The Gators led the nation with 39.8 rebounds per game and were 2nd in offensive boards at 13.1. Colorado was OK on the glass tied for 93rd in the country with 33.8. The Buffaloes have size underneath with 6-foot-11, 265-pound Eddie Lampkin Jr. Florida’s depth is going to be tested after backup C Micah Handlogten broke his leg in the conference tourney.

I give the slight edge to the Buffaloes here. They’re 7th in the nation with 39.1% from downtown. The Gators were tied for 167th at 34.2%, and Clayton Jr. struggles to provide offense when his 3-ball isn’t falling.

Take COLORADO +100.

Against the spread

I’ll pass on the insurance and key in on a prop that makes sense. Clayton is averaging 17.1 PPG and goes through cold streaks. He has been held to 13 and 16 in his last 2 games, and I’ll take WALTER CLAYTON JR. UNDER 17.5 POINTS (-110).

Over/Under

Florida is 8-2 O/U over their last 10 games, and Colorado is 5-5. Florida plays at the 6th-best pace in the nation at 85.1. Colorado amps it up, too, tied for 54th at 78.7.

It’s a big number, but the way these teams run-and-gun, LEAN OVER 158.5 (-105).

SEC Tournament: Florida vs. Auburn odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s SEC Tournament: Florida vs. Auburn odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Florida Gators (24-10) battle the No. 12 Auburn Tigers (26-7) Sunday in the Southeastern Conference Championship game. Tip from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Florida vs. Auburn odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The 6th-seeded Gators beat No. 7 Texas A&M 95-90 in the semifinals Saturday, covering as 2.5-point favorites and the Over (153) cashed. Sophomore G Denzel Aberdeen scored a career-high 20 points off the bench for Florida, which has not won the SEC Tournament title since 2014.

The 4th-seeded Tigers extended their win streak to 5 games by outlasting the No. 9 Mississippi State Bulldogs 73-66 Saturday in the semifinals. They failed to cover the spread as an 8.5-point favorite, and the Under (141) cashed. G Chad Baker-Mazara‘s 14 points led 4 starters in double-figures for Auburn, which is seeking its 1st SEC Tournament title since 2019.

Florida beat Auburn as a 2-point home underdog 81-65 on Feb. 10 as the Under (157.5) cashed.

Florida vs. Auburn picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 79, Auburn 75

Moneyline

BET FLORIDA (+184).

That disappointing loss to Vanderbilt to end the regular season may have been exactly what Florida needed heading into the SEC Tournament. I love the balanced attack the Gators bring to the court which helped them to a 16-point win over the Tigers earlier this season. Florida is 14-5 since Jan. 13, which includes that win over Auburn.

Both of these teams will be playing in the NCAA Tournament but this game will determine what line they land on for the Big Dance.

Against the spread

PASS.

I will put my bet on the Florida moneyline in this game.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 155.5 (-110).

When you look at their last 10 meetings, the Under has hit in 8 of them. Their battles have been grind it out affairs. Auburn has kept both of their games thus far in the SEC Tournament Under the total.

I typically like the Under in title games because there are always nerves to work out early on, especially in the 1st half.

SEC Tournament: Texas A&M vs. Florida odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas A&M vs. Florida odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Texas A&M Aggies (20-13) and Florida Gators (23-10) meet in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament Saturday at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Texas A&M vs. Florida odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The 7th-seeded Aggies upset 2nd-seeded Kentucky in the quarterfinals Friday, winning 97-87 as 5.5-point underdogs as the Over (160) cashed. Texas A&M also topped Ole Miss, and it has won and covered 5 straight games with the Over connecting in 4 in a row.

The 6th-seeded Gators surprised Alabama Friday, winning 102-88 as 5-point underdogs as the Over (175) cashed. Florida is 5-3 straight up (SU) in the past 8 games, but it is just 2-5 against the spread (ATS) in the previous 7 outings. The Over has cashed in 6 straight and 8 of the past 9 contests.

Texas A&M topped Florida 67-66 in the only regular-season meeting, with the Gators cashing as 4-point underdogs in College Station Feb. 3 as the Under (151.5) cashed. The Aggies have won 5 straight in the series while covering 3 of those outings. The Under has cashed in 3 straight meetings while going 4-1 in the previous 5 in the series dating back to Feb. 15, 2022.

Texas A&M vs. Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 82, Texas A&M 80

Moneyline

Florida (-160) will cost you almost 2 times your potential return, and that’s a little too much risk for not enough reward.

Texas A&M (+135) has been hot in this tournament, and it has racked up 5 huge wins in a row to strengthen its resume for an at-large NCAA Tournament bid. It won’t go quietly, though, despite feeling much better after an upset of Kentucky.

PASS.

Against the spread

TEXAS A&M +2.5 (+100) is a strong play.

This is going to be a tussle, and the Aggies are playing with a lot of confidence after upending the 2nd-seeded Wildcats. Texas A&M has covered 5 in a row, and it’s worth playing as the underdog.

Florida -2.5 (-110) has won just 5 of the past 8 games while going 2-5 ATS in the past 7 outings.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

OVER 151.5 (110) is a strong play in this SEC semifinals matchup.

The Over is on a 6-0 run for Florida, as it is filling up the basket with a lot of ease lately. In fact, the Gators have hit triple digits in 2 of the past 4 games, and neither of those games went to overtime. The Gators are good for 81 or more points in 10 of the past 14 outings.

The Aggies aren’t usually known for their offense, but they dropped 97 on Kentucky Friday, and Texas A&M has scored 85 or more points in 4 straight outings, cashing the Over in each game.

Alabama at Florida odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Alabama at Florida odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 17 Alabama Crimson Tide (20-9, 12-4 SEC) head to Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center to face the No. 25 Florida Gators (20-9, 10-6) Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Alabama vs. Florida odds as we make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Alabama, which is No. 17 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, is coming off a tough 81-74 home loss to the No. 4-ranked Tennessee Volunteers Saturday. It failed to cover the spread as a 4-point favorite, and the Under (174) hit. The Crimson Tide committed 12 turnovers which Tennessee converted to 17 points. G Mark Sears crossed the 20-point mark for the 11th time in his last 12 games. Alabama is 2-2 in its last 4 SEC road games and sits 1 game back of 1st place in the conference.

The No. 25 Gators lost 82-76 to the No. 16 South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia Saturday. They did not cover the spread as 2-point underdogs, and the game went over the 144 total. Junior G Walter Clayton Jr. led the team in scoring with 20 points but committed 6 of the team’s 12 total turnovers. Florida has won 7 straight games at home during SEC play and currently sits 3 games back of 1st place in the conference.

Alabama has won the last 4 meetings with Florida. The Gators covered as 10-point underdogs in a 98-93 OT loss at Alabama in the most recent meeting Feb. 21 as the Over (173) hit.

Alabama at Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 89, Alabama 85

Moneyline

BET FLORIDA (-114).

These 2 played a barnburner in the Feb. 21 meeting. It was a back-and-forth affair with the Crimson Tide coming out on top. The Gators will get their revenge at home Tuesday night, where they have won their last 5 in SEC play. Florida is also 2-1 since that loss in Tuscaloosa.

We know that Clayton and Sears will battle and get their points, but the winner will be determined by who gets the help from their supporting cast. I believe the Gators’ inside combo of C Micah Handlogten and F Tyrese Samuel will take care of business.

Against the spread

PASS.

I’ll keep my unit bet to the moneyline in this one.

Over/Under

AVOID.

If you want to bet this, be my guest, but this number is just too darn high for me. All the trends tell me to bet the Over, but I can’t do it.

In the last 5 head-to-head battles, the game has gone over the total. The Over has hit in 7 of Alabama’s last 8 games and in 4 of the last 5 for Florida.

The Florida Gators (20-8, 10-5 SEC) and South Carolina Gamecocks (23-5, 11-4) tangle in a Saturday matinee in Columbia. Tip-off at Colonial Life Arena is set for noon ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Florida vs. South Carolina odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Florida, ranked No. 24 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, has won back-to-back games and 5 of its last 6. The Gators’ most recent contest was Wednesday, an 83-74 win but non-cover as 13-point home favorites over Missouri.

No. 18 South Carolina also played Wednesday. The Gamecocks earned an against-the-spread (ATS) upset for a 2nd straight game when they won 70-68 at Texas A&M as 6-point underdogs.

Florida at South Carolina picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 73, South Carolina 71

Moneyline

Florida is the lean, however a better relative value can be found taking the Gators and the points. STEER CLEAR.

Against the spread

Florida has logged ATS wins in each of its last 3 visits to Columbia. Overall, UF is 3-1 ATS in the last 4 series meetings.

South Carolina is on a nice trend line, but the Gators are the more consistent squad. The faster-tempo UF five has an efficient offense, and it gets to the line more often.

USC launches a ton of 3’s, but a 32.1% accuracy mark over its last 5 games does not inspire confidence especially when going against a Gator team that defends well along the perimeter.

BACK GATORS +1.5 (-104).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The last 19 USC games against teams with winning records have yielded a 12-5 record for the Under.

This is a classic tortoise (South Carolina) and hare (Florida) matchup, but both sides have been trending toward lower pace figures of late. The way both sides hit the offensive glass and the way UF gets to the stripe is cause for concern. but the UNDER 145.5 (-110) is a slight lean here.

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (7-0, 4-0 SEC) and Florida Gators (5-2, 3-1) meet Saturday with kickoff from EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville set for 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Georgia vs. Florida odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Georgia stayed undefeated with a 37-20 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores Saturday, but failed to cover as a 32.5-point favorite. The Bulldogs rushed for 291 yards and 3 TDs while holding the Commodores to 219 yards of total offense.

Florida picked up its 2nd consecutive win in a 41-39 shootout vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks Saturday, covering as 1-point underdogs. QB Graham Mertz threw for 423 yards and 3 TDs. WR Ricky Pearsall led the way with 166 yards and a TD.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Georgia vs. Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 32, Florida 17

Moneyline

PASS.

The Bulldogs should be able to pick up the win here, but a -650 favorite is not worth the risk of betting on. Bet on the spread and/or O/U instead.

Against the spread

LEAN GEORGIA -14.5 (-110).

I expect this to be a competitive game for the 1st half or maybe even through 3 quarters, but eventually Georgia should begin to pull away. Georgia has a phenomenal defense that will make it difficult for this Gators rushing attack that averages 141.3 yards per game to get going. I also like Georgia to see a good amount of success in the passing game, even with star TE Brock Bowers out with an ankle injury.

Over/Under

BET OVER 48.5 (-105).

Both of these teams are solid defensively, but both also have a lot of offensive firepower. Georgia averages 509.4 yards of total offense per game, and 337 of those yards come via the passing attack. Florida’s defense can be attacked in both the air and on the ground as the Gators allow 312.4 total yards per game (187.6 passing, 124.9 rushing).

Also, 4 of the last 6 meetings between these squads has hit Over 48.5.

Lock it in with Alex: Cash in on this SEC home team

There is a small home college football favorite in a Week 7 SEC showdown that Alex White really likes.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

“College football fans, this one’s for you.”

SportsbookWire.com’s Alex White likes an SEC home team Saturday afternoon.

She points out the team’s 2-3 record is misleading, that it’s well-rested after enjoying a bye week and it will have revenge on its mind.

Plus, there’s a strong series trend that backs her play along with the home side having the better quarterback in this matchup — which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET (SEC Network).

BetMGM Sportsbook has the spread in this conference showdown at -1.5 as of Saturday at 5:07 a.m. ET.

Florida at Kentucky odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Florida at Kentucky odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Florida Gators (3-1, 1-1 SEC) and the Kentucky Wildcats (4-0, 1-0) meet Saturday at Kroger Field in Lexington for an SEC East matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Florida vs. Kentucky odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Gators racked up an impressive 29-16 win over Tennessee in Week 3, cashing as a 4.5-point underdog in the biggest victory of the Billy Napier era. It was rather uninspired in a 22-7 win over a very mediocre Charlotte team, but Florida has 3 straight wins and a Top 25 ranking. Florida is 1-3 against the spread (ATS), while the Under is 3-0-1 at most shops through 4 games.

Kentucky spanked Vanderbilt in the SEC opener last weekend, winning 45-28 to cover a 13-point spread. The Wildcats are now 3-0 ATS in 3 meetings against FBS opponents, and the defense is allowing just 15.5 PPG through 4 outings.

The Wildcats had lost 31 straight meetings against the Gators from 1987 to 2017, but Kentucky has won 3 of the past 5 in the series, including a 26-16 win in Gainesville last Sept. 10. UK has won by 7 or more points in all 3 of those victories since Sept. 2018, too.

Florida is No. 23 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Florida at Kentucky picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 26, Florida 23

Moneyline

KENTUCKY (-115) is a football school now. The Wildcats have fired out of the chute with 4 victories, and that’s with QB Devin Leary still struggling a bit by his standards. The former NC State signal caller has completed just 59.3% of his passes for 1,060 yards, 9 TD and 5 INT. If he can start cleaning up his mistakes, and be a little more accurate, the sky is the limit for Big Blue.

Against the spread

KENTUCKY -1.5 (-105) is slightly cheaper than the moneyline, and the better play since the game cannot end in a tie. There was a time it was unfathomable to bet the Wildcats against the Gators, but Kentucky has proven that it can not only beat Florida, it can beat the Gators rather routinely.

Over/Under

OVER 44.5 (-110) is the lean, as this number is just way too low.

Yes, the Gators are averaging just 20.7 PPG on offense in 3 games against FBS opponents, while allowing 15.7 PPG on defense. However, the Wildcats can roll up some serious offense, and it has scored 35 or more points in all 3 games against FBS opponents this season. We won’t get a track meet in Lexington, but we won’t have a defensive slog, either.

Analyzing Saturday’s Charlotte at Florida odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Charlotte 49ers (1-2) and the Florida Gators (2-1) meet Saturday night at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Fla. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+/SEC Network+). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Charlotte vs. Florida odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Charlotte opened the season with a 24-3 win over South Carolina State of the FCS, but it is 0-2 straight up (SU) in its 2 games against FBS opponents Maryland and Georgia State. The Over has hit in the past 2 outings as Charlotte has allowed 39.5 points per game (PPG).

Florida stumbled out of the gate with a 24-11 setback at Utah on Aug. 31, and it was really more lopsided than that but was salvaged by a late TD and 2-point conversion. It bounced back by spanking McNeese 49-7 on Sept. 9 and Florida picked up a 29-16 win over Tennessee last weekend at The Swamp. It was also Florida’s first cover. The Under is 2-0-1 for the Gators.

Charlotte at Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 45, Charlotte 13

Moneyline

Florida (-7000) will cost you 70 times your potential return, and while it is nearly a certainty that the Gators will push past Charlotte in rather easy fashion, that’s way too much risk for not enough reward. Even tossing Florida into a parlay with several other teams takes all of the value out of your ticket.

PASS.

Against the spread

FLORIDA -27.5 (-122) is a decent play laying the points. The only concern is a hangover after the emotional victory against Tennessee.

The Gators have covered just once in 3 games, and it missed the cover against McNeese in their only game as a favorite to date. Florida comes with a little risk, but Charlotte has allowed at least 38 points in each of its 2 games against FBS foes, and it will struggle hard to keep Florida from posting a rout.

Over/Under

OVER 48.5 (-110) is worth a look in this non-conference tilt, and it isn’t hard to envision the Gators taking care of the total all on their own.

The 49ers have allowed 79 points in the past 2 games against Maryland and Georgia State, cashing the Over in both outings. If Charlotte couldn’t stop those teams, imagine how poorly that beleaguered defense will perform in The Swamp.

Tennessee at Florida odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Tennessee at Florida odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers (2-0, 0-0 SEC) start conference play on the road against the Florida Gators (1-1, 0-0) Saturday. Kickoff from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tennessee vs. Florida odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Two former Big 10 quarterbacks meet for the first time in the SEC this weekend in “The Swamp.” Highly recruited QB Joe Milton III transferred from Michigan and has been adequate through his first 2 games with the Volunteers. While QB Graham Mertz came over from Wisconsin to lead the Gators and lost his debut to current-No. 12 Utah before bouncing back with a victory over McNeese.

Milton and Mertz squared off in 2020 as Mertz led Wisconsin to a 49-11 victory over Michigan in the Big House. Mertz has the experience edge over Milton, having started more than 30 games from huge conference matchups to bowl games.

Tennessee has coasted to 2 home victories to start their season, outscoring their opponents 79 to 26. There are rumblings that Volunteer’s head coach Josh Heupel’s first-year success in Knoxville may not be able to be replicated now that everyone has tape on them but they’re off to a good start. Tennessee is 11-4 ATS across its last 15 games.

Gators head coach Billy Napier needs to take a step forward after going 6-7 in his first season in Gainesville. Florida bounced back with a 49-7 victory over McNeese after falling to Utah in its season opener.

Florida has dominated the series between these programs in recent years and had won 5 straight games before Tennessee picked up a 38-33 home victory in 2022. The Gators are 1-4 ATS over the school’s past 5 games overall but are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings with the Vols. The Volunteers are 0-9 straight up in their last 9 road games against Florida.

The Volunteers are ranked No. 9 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll.

Tennessee at Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Tennessee 24, Florida 20

Moneyline

This will be a tight contest between bitter rivals. I don’t believe Tennessee (-250) should be such a heavy favorite — it would be around -175 if I was setting the line. Florida could win this game outright, so I’m going to look to the spread for this bet.

PASS.

Against the spread

BET FLORIDA +6.5 (-110).

The Gators basically owned the Volunteers before last season’s loss in Knoxville. Florida is 16-2 straight up in the last 18 games between these schools and Tennessee has only been able to score more than 20 points in just 2 of the last 9 games in Gainesville.

I have Tennessee winning the game but Florida should keep this tight down to the wire.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 58.5 (-110).

These two teams put up 71 points in Knoxville last year but this should be more of a grind-it-out game. Florida does not want to get into a shoot out with Tennessee — it would not end well for the Gators — so it needs to keep this game in the 40s to have any chance of winning.
