Massive offensive tackle Favour Edwin signs with Auburn

Auburn has landed offensive tackle Favour Edwin, capping off a good early signing day for the Tigers.

Auburn has landed its second commitment of the day and it is once again along the trenches.

The Tigers announced that three-star offensive tackle [autotag]Favour Edwin[/autotag] had signed with the program late Wednesday night. He is Auburn’s 20th signee of early signing period.

Offensive line coach and [autotag]Jake Thornton[/autotag] beat out Alabama and Florida for the McDonough, Georgia product, who is in his first year of playing football.

Edwin is the No. 680 overall player and No. 52 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 80 player from Georgia.

Originally from Nigeria, Edwin is listed at 6-foot-6 and 300 pounds. The only linemen on Auburn’s roster who are the same size are Gunner Britton and Tyler Johnson, who are also 6-foot-6.

Edwin is Auburn’s third signee along the offensive line, joining four-star [autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag] and three-star [autotag]Seth Wilfred[/autotag]. You can view all of Auburn’s activity during the early sighing period here.

Auburn OT target Favour Edwin trending to SEC rival

Auburn and Alabama are battling for offensive tackle Favour Edwin.

Auburn’s coaches have been working to add more offensive linemen to the Tigers’ 2024 recruiting class but it has been tough. They currently have juat two commitments, four-star [autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag] and three-star [autotag]Seth Wilfred[/autotag], a JUCO product.

One of the players they’ve been looking to add to the class is three-star offensive tackle [autotag]Favour Edwin[/autotag], who is from McDonough, Georgia. The Tigers have hosted him on several visits and were seen as the favorite to land the 6-foot-7, 300-pounder.

That is no longer the case as Nick Saban and Alabama have stormed ahead of Auburn. They hosted him for an official visit on Dec. 8 and have received three crystal balls to land him from 247Sports recruiting experts since then.

Edwin is the No. 795 overall player and No. 59 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 92 player from Georgia.

Auburn still has one high school target on the board ahead of the early signing period, four-star [autotag]Coen Echols[/autotag]. Auburn is the favorite to land the Texas product but LSU and Texas A&M are still involved.

Auburn surging for key offensive tackle target

Auburn has been recruiting Favour Edwin for quite some time and that work could be paying off soon.

[autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] has Auburn recruiting at the level needed to compete in the SEC but there is still one glaring weakness in Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class, their lack of commitments along the offensive line.

Currently, four-star [autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag] is Auburn’s only pledge along the offensive line but that could be changing soon as the Tigers are surging in their pursuit of three-star offensive tackle [autotag]Favour Edwin[/autotag].

Edwin is originally from Nigeria but currently lives in McDonough, Georgia and despite playing football for just one season, has earned over a dozen scholarship offers.

He has taken several trips to Auburn this season with his most recent one being for the Iron Bowl. Following that trip, the Tigers are now the overwhelming favorites to land the 6-foot-6, 300-pounder.

Both Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports and On3’s Keith Niebuhr cast predictions for Edwin to commit to Auburn on Sunday. The Tigers have now received all five predictions to land Edwin between the two sites.

Edwin is the No. 793 overall player and No. 60 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 93 player from Georgia.

Florida coaches planning in-home visit with Peach State OT

Florida coaches, including head coach Billy Napier, are expected in McDonough, Georgia, on Friday to see three-star offensive tackle Favour Edwin.

The recruiting contact period is set to open back up on Dec. 1, and the Florida Gators will be sending coaches to McDonough, Georgia, to see Eagle’s Landing Christian offensive tackle Favour Edwin, according to On3’s Corey Bender.

The 6-foot-8-inch, 290-pound lineman is a consensus three-star recruit ranked among the top 40 offensive tackles in the class of 2024. Auburn is the current favorite to land him, according to On3’s recruiting prediction machine, but Alabama and Florida remain in the race.

The Gators aren’t sending random members of the staff on this last-minute push either. Head coach Billy Napier and co-offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton are among the names expected in McDonough Friday.

The early signing period is just three weeks away, so Edwin will likely make a decision just after he meets with Florida’s coaches.

“I’m getting really close,” Edwin said. “I have to start figuring it out and have to decide real fast. I think (it will be in the next few days). Really think so. And I’ll just put it out there (when I’m ready).”

Florida has four offensive linemen under commitment, including four-star tackles Marcus Mascoll and Fletcher Westphal. Edwin is ranked higher than the other two tackles committed to UF, though, so he could still work his way into some early playing time if he chooses the Orange and Blue.

Alabama lands in top 5 for 2024 OT Favour Edwin

2024 three-star offensive tackle Favour Edwin is down to five schools. Alabama was listed as one of the finalists to land his commitment.

It is unusual for Alabama to recruit international players. However, Alabama has already landed one international prospect in this recruiting cycle. That is 2024 three-star linebacker Justin Okoronkwo. Another prospect that the Alabama coaching staff has its eyes on is 2024 offensive tackle and Nigerian native Favour Edwin. Recently, Edwin released his top schools list. Alabama was one of the five finalists.

Edwin plays for Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia. It is his first year playing organized, high school football.

The Alabama coaching staff has been recruiting Edwin since the summer. He has been to Tuscaloosa multiple times already. It will be interesting to see if the coaching staff gives Edwin the green light to commit before early national signing day.

Clemson makes the top 5 for a 2024 OL target

Clemson has made the top 5 for an offensive line target in the 2024 class.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program still have some work to do recruiting in their 2024 class, with an offensive line target announcing Clemson as one of his top 5 choices.

McDonough, Georgia, three-star offensive tackle Favour Edwin took to Twitter/X to announce his top 5 with Clemson making the cut. The Tigers are competing with Georgia Tech, Alabama, Florida, and Auburn for his commitment.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, Edwin is the No.60 offensive tackle and No.792 overall player in the 2024 class. He received his offer from Clemson in September during the Florida State weekend. He is currently crystalballed to Auburn, but with no crystal ball from 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong, the Tigers are definitely still in the hunt.

Auburn cracks top five for key offensive tackle target Favour Edwin

The massive offensive tackle has taken multiple visits to Auburn this season.

Auburn is among the finalists for offensive tackle [autotag]Favour Edwin[/autotag].

The three-star prospect is one of Auburn’s top targets along the offensive line and he is down to Auburn, Florida, Clemson, Alabama and Georgia Tech.

This is Edwin’s first season playing football and while he has the size (6-foot-6, 300 pounds) and athleticism to play offensive tackle, he is raw and will need time to develop.

Edwin officially visited Auburn to watch the Georgia game and then returned to watch the Tigers play Ole Miss. The McDonough, Georgia native has visited each of his finalists and will officially visit the Gators this weekend when they host Arkansas.

[autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag] is Auburn’s only commit along the offensive line in the 2024 cycle, but the Texas Longhorns are pushing to flip the four-star prospect and the battle is far from over.

Edwin is the No. 792 overall player and No. 60 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 93 player from Georgia.

Auburn surging for OT target Favour Edwin

Auburn could be getting some good news on the recruiting trail at a position of need.

Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class is currently ranked as the No. 15 class in the country and has landed elite players at several key positions but there is one glaring weakness and it is at a critical position.

Four-star [autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag] is currently Auburn’s only commit along the offensive line, an area where Auburn is looking to sign several players. However, good news could be on the way as Auburn is trending for [autotag]Favour Edwin[/autotag], one of their top targets.

Edwin officially visited Auburn last weekend for the Georgia game and told On3’s Cole Pinkston it was “amazing” and that it “checked all the boxes.”

The visit went so well that On3’s Jeffrey Lee has logged a prediction for Auburn to land Edwin. The prediction gives Auburn a 92.1% chance to land him, according to On3’s recruiting prediction machine.

Edwin is the No. 832 overall player and No. 54 offensive tackle in the On3 industry ranking. The McDonough, Georgia native is also the No. 100 player from the Peach State.

Recently offered offensive tackle Favour Edwin sets official visit to Auburn

Offensive tackle Favour Edwin has scheduled his return to the Plains and it will be an official visit.

Just two weeks after earning a scholarship offer from Auburn, three-star offensive tackle [autotag]Favour Edwin[/autotag] has scheduled an official visit to the Plains. The McDonough, Georgia product will be officially visiting on Sept. 29, according to a report from On3’s Jeffrey Lee.

Auburn is set to host the Georgia Bulldogs that weekend and it will be Edwin’s second time checking out Auburn.

He is the No. 906 overall player and No. 62 offensive tackle in the On3 Industry ranking. The 6-foot-8, 290-pounder is also the No. 102 player from Georgia.

Edwin and Auburn offensive line coach [autotag]Jake Thornton[/autotag] communicate frequently and he is looking forward to getting to know him better.

“He’s a great dude,” Edwin said of Thornton. “We talk about more than just football and that means a lot to me. Just being involved in my life and around people like that goes a long way with me. Life is about more than just football. I like Coach Thornton, for sure. He’s one of the guys I want to meet and talk to more when I go down there.”

Edwin won’t have to work hard if he wants to find out more about the Tigers, he was teammates with current Auburn cornerback [autotag]Colton Hood[/autotag] last season at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy.

Auburn is still looking to land its first commitment along the offensive line in the 2024 recruiting cycle, however, that could change soon with key target DeAndre Carter set to commit on Sunday.

Massive offensive line target sets official date with Florida football

Things will be cooking on campus come mid-June.

The middle of June is looking to be a popular time to be in Gainesville as yet another prep prospect set his official visit date with the Florida Gators on Friday.

Unranked offensive lineman [autotag]Favour Edwin[/autotag] out of McDonough (Georgia) Eagle’s Landing Christian told Gators Online’s Corey Bender that he plans on being on campus for the weekend of June 16-18. The trip is now set in stone after the 6-foot-8-inch, 290-pound trench warrior finalized the date with offensive coordinator Rob Sale who has ostensibly been his primary contact during the recruiting process.

“It’s an amazing and beautiful place,” Edwin told GO after being offered. “Most importantly, it’s the coaches. I love the fact that they believe in me and that means a lot to me. I have a good relationship with Coach Napier and his entire staff. They are good people.”

Neither the 247Sports composite nor the On3 industry ranking has star ratings or rankings for Edwin, but he is expected to make the charts soon as he quickly rises up the ranks. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine does have Florida in front for his recruitment with a 79.8% chance of landing him, followed by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (18.7%) and Appalachian State Mountaineers (1.5%).
