WATCH: Darius Slay on Mike Trout wanting to join Eagles end zone fight with Steelers

Darius Slay says Philadelphia fan and Angels outfielder Mike Trout wanted to to join Eagles end zone scuffle with Steelers

Mike Trout might play for the Angels of Anaheim. Still, the South Jersey native is Philly personified and proved his worth to Eagles fans during the dustup involving Darius Slay and Darnell Washington.

During a recent episode of his ‘Big Play Slay’ podcast, the Eagles’ star cornerback discussed Trout’s readiness to jump in the fight and help.

Trout is an Eagles season ticket holder and usually can be found seated right in front of that section of Lincoln Financial Field where the Steelers tight end and Eagles cornerback were engaged in blows getting thrown after Washington attempted to block Slay out into the street.

George Pickens injury updates: Steelers WR is doubtful for matchup vs. Eagles

Mike Tomlin says that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens is doubtful for the Week 15 game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles

The Steelers are heading to Philadelphia for a gigantic matchup against the Eagles on Sunday, and Mike Tomlin’s team will likely be without George Pickens.

Similar to situations the Eagles had to deal with regarding A.J. Brown and recently DeVonta Smith, Pickens is dealing with a grade 2 hamstring injury that caused him to miss the Week 14 win over the Browns.

According to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, Following a Sunday morning conversation with athletic trainers and wide receiver George Pickens, coach Mike Tomlin opted to make Pickens, who sustained a hamstring injury late in the week, inactive for the Steelers’ 27-14 victory against the Browns on Sunday.

On Tuesday, five days before the Steelers depart for Philadelphia, Tomlin confirmed that Pickens is doubtful for Sunday afternoon.

Pickens has 850 receiving yards and three touchdown catches and would provide a formidable opponent for Eagles cornerbacks Darius Slay and Quinyon Mitchell.

Pittsburgh will play three games in the next 11 days, including another matchup with Baltimore.

Nick Sirianni confirms all the Eagles starters will see action against Steelers

Nick Sirianni confirms all the Eagles starters will see action against the Steelers

The Eagles will open up the preseason on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the starters won’t get the night off.

Nick Sirianni confirmed during a press conference that all the Eagles starters will see some form of playing time at Lincoln Financial Field.

All eyes will be on quarterback Jalen Hurts,  but Sirianni hinted at the coaching staff not keeping their starting QB on the field for too long.

“With Jalen, one of the things a little to our advantage nobody really knows what we’re running so to say we’re going to show everything on Thursday or the following preseason game or the following preseason game, it’s just not going to be the case,” he said. “That’s an advantage we have that other staffs don’t because there’s no tape out there of us.”

Another key player in this game to look out for is Jordan Mailata, the likely winner of the Eagles’ left tackle battle.
