Former Tiger Antonio Kite commits to Ole Miss

The sophomore saw action in four contests for the Tigers last season, totaling 6 tackles, a fumble recovery, and an interception

Former Auburn Tiger cornerback Antonio Kite committed to the Ole Miss Rebels on Wednesday. A former four-star prospect who spent his freshman campaign playing with Alabama, Kite played sparingly during his one season on the Plains.

The sophomore saw action in four contests for the Tigers last season, totaling 6 tackles, a fumble recovery, and an interception. His lone interception as a Tiger came early in the season in a blowout victory over New Mexico. Unfortunately Kite’s season spiraled from there, as his playing time was cut significantly once SEC play started. The sophomore was ultimately dismissed from the team mid-season for “violating team rules” effectively ending his Tiger career before it had the chance to take off.

Unlikely to earn enough trust to get out of head coach Hugh Freeze and defensive coordinator [autotag]DJ Durkin[/autotag]’s ‘dog house’, Kite entered the transfer portal and will now play for his third SEC team in as many collegiate seasons. Kite’s move makes sense for both himself and the Tigers, as Auburn’s top two cornerback spots are currently held by stars [autotag]Kayin Lee[/autotag] and [autotag]Jay Crawford[/autotag]. Many of the high-ranked prospects in Auburn’s No. 6 ranked 2025 recruiting class are likely to challenge for large amounts of playing time in the defensive backfield, making Kite’s path towards significant playing time even more murky.

Along with the aforementioned Lee and Crawford, freshman [autotag]Anquon Fegans[/autotag], [autotag]Blake Woodby[/autotag], and [autotag]Donovan Starr[/autotag], along with Georgia Tech transfer safety [autotag]Taye Seymore[/autotag] are all in the mix to receive plenty of playing time at the defensive back positions in 2025.

Auburn signee Donovan Starr crowned Mr. Football in Tennessee

Starr was able to bring Ravenwood High School its first ever ‘Mr. Football’ award

Auburn four-star defensive back signee [autotag]Donovan Starr[/autotag] was named 2024 ‘Mr. Football’ in his home state of Tennessee this week.

The No. 1 ranked recruit from the Volunteer State in the 2025 cycle, Starr chose the Tigers over Vanderbilt and Alabama, among others.

A consensus top 21 cornerback in the class, Starr is expected to compete for a large snap share as soon as she steps onto the Plains for spring practices in 2025, especially considering the Tigers are set to lose a pair of safeties to graduation and the transfer portal. In his senior season with Ravenwood, the 6-foot-0 defensive back tallied 41 tackles, 2 interceptions, and a sack while also accumulating 446 receiving yards on offense.

Despite it being just his fourth year of organized football, Starr was able to bring Ravenwood High School its first ever ‘Mr. Football’ award, and more importantly, vault himself into one of the premier prospects in the entire nation while doing so. One of the newest Tigers spoke about his “newness” to the game of football during the award ceremony earlier this week. “It’s crazy. It’s definitely a blessing,” Starr said. “I put in a lot of hours for this, probably a lot more hours than a lot of guys, because I obviously started from scratch, I hadn’t played football before. It all worked out in the end so I’m grateful.”

Tennessee’s Mr. Football joins an already young and talented Auburn secondary featuring standout freshman Jay Crawford and sensational sophomore Kayin Lee. Other than Starr, four-star safeties Anquon Fagens and Eric Winters along with four-star cornerback Blake Woodby are among the talented first-year college athletes set to join Auburn next season.

Auburn officially signs four-star cornerback Donovan Starr

Auburn finished National Signing Day by securing another great prospect

The Auburn Tigers coaching staff finished National Signing Day on an extremely positive note on Wednesday evening. One of the premier defensive members of the class, consensus top 20 2025 cornerback Donovan Starr, stayed true to his commitment by signing his national letter of intent with Auburn towards the end of signing day.

Starr’s signing was important for a variety of reasons, one of which being the fact Auburn was unable to flip fellow cornerback Na’eem Offord from Oregon despite the staff’s best efforts. Starr, who ranks as the No. 1 prospect from the state of Tennessee, was reportedly considering a flip as well before he put pen to paper.

With the 6-foot, 176-pound star now signed, Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class is likely to finish among the top five or six classes in the country. Starr was the 24th player to join the 2025 Auburn class. He was also the fourteenth recruit to join the class that had a four-star or better ranking.

Starr, along with the rest of his new Tigers teammates, will look to help turn around an Auburn program that missed only it’s second bowl game since 2012 after a disappointing season this fall. With plenty of youth throughout the defensive backfield, the No. 1 prospect from the Volunteer State should have every chance to lend his talents to defensive coordinator DJ Durkin on game days in 2025.

Auburn target Na’eem Offord signs with Oregon

Auburn lost to Oregon in the attempt to flip Alabama’s top recruit from Ohio State on Wednesday.

Five-star cornerback and consensus top 12 overall recruit [autotag]Na’eem Offord[/autotag] chose to play his college football at Oregon on Wednesday.

The No. 2 cornerback in the 2025 class, Offord had been committed to Ohio State since February of this year before flipping to Oregon on Early Signing Day. While Offord was never strongly predicted to flip to Auburn, [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and his staff made a last-minute push for his talents, leading many experts to believe the Tigers stood a solid chance of earning his commitment.

Auburn’s inability to land Offord brought a disappointing end to what was a very productive National Signing Day. Although the Tigers were unable to land the star cornerback from Birmingham, Alabama, Freeze and his staff did manage to bring five-star targets [autotag]Jared Smith[/autotag], [autotag]Malik Autry[/autotag], and [autotag]Deuce Knight[/autotag] to the Plains. The Tigers 2025 class also has nine four-star prospects currently signed as well, including Offord’s high school teammate, defensive lineman [autotag]Jourdin Crawford[/autotag].

The eyes of the Tigers staff will now be fully on four-star cornerback [autotag]Donovan Starr[/autotag], who committed to the program in June but has teased a possible flip to Alabama or Vanderbilt. The No. 1 prospect from the state of Tennessee, a commitment from Starr could move the Tigers back into the top 5 overall class rankings before National Signing Day comes to a close.

Georgia’s top flip targets in the 2025 recruiting class

Flip targets for Georgia football in the 2025 recruiting class

Early signing day is two weeks away and Georgia has been ramping up their recruiting for their 2025 class. After the flip of former Florida State wide receiver CJ Wiley committing to Georgia earlier this month, the Bulldogs are nowhere near done. Georgia is coming off a huge 31-17 win against No. 12 Tennessee there is a lot of momentum for UGA on the recruiting trail.

Who are Georgia football’s top flip targets in the class of 2025?

Donovan Starr

Four-star cornerback Donovan Starr was in attendance for the Tennessee game this past weekend. The Bulldogs extended an offer late last month.

The Auburn commit is drawing interest from other programs and has recently taken official visits to Alabama and Vanderbilt. The Tennessee game was Starr’s first in-depth experience of a game day at Georgia. Expect the Bulldogs to stay continue recruiting Starr to add to their second-best recruiting class in the nation (UGA is ranked behind Ohio State according to On3).

DJ Pickett

Pickett is the big fish that could turn a lot of heads in the national media. The five-star cornerback is committed to the LSU Tigers and visited UGA for the Tennessee game.

Pickett, who is 6-foot-4, possesses rare size at corner. Oregon, LSU, and Miami are all competing in the number one cornerback sweepstakes as well with Georgia. If Pickett signs with Georgia, then it would be the second year in a row where the No. 1 corner committed to UGA.

Tavion Wallace

Georgia may want add another difference-maker at linebacker and the in-state four-star prospect and Arkansas recruit Tavion Wallace fits the bill. Wallace has been to Athens three times including his official visit which happened in July.

With Wallace being a frequent visitor, there is some real momentum coming from Georgia to lure Wallace away from Arkansas.

KaMario Taylor

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to quarterback recruit KaMario Taylor, who is a four-star prospect ranked across all recruiting services. Taylor is from Noxubee County in Macon, Mississippi, has been committed to Mississippi State since Oct. 2023.

Georgia has been looking to add talent in the quarterback room with Carson Beck likely leaving after this season. Taylor is a dual-threat quarterback that possesses mobility that has not been in the quarterback room since Justin Fields.

Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele

Sagapolutele is another quarterback prospect that Georgia wants to come into the room and compete. The Bulldogs recently offered a scholarship in October to four-star California Bears quarterback commitment Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele.

Sagapolutele is a recent riser in the On3 rankings to five-star status. He is scheduled to come to the UMass game this Saturday. Although he is committed to Cal, Oregon and Georgia are emerging as strong contenders to persuade Sagapolutele to come on their campuses this winter as.an early enrollee.

Georgia’s biggest remaining recruiting need in the 2025 class

Georgia’s biggest remaining recruiting need is clear in the class of 2025 recruiting cycle

With early signing day less than a month away here are some of the top needs and remaining targets for Georgia football. Head coach Kirby Smart and company are still looking to add a few elite recruits to the class of 2025 recruiting cycle.

Donovan Starr

Donavan Starr is a four-star cornerback prospect that is committed to Auburn right now. Kirby Smart and UGA offered Starr last week and Starr has been interested in what the Bulldogs have for him.

A cornerback prospect is a huge need for the Bulldogs. Georgia only has one cornerback commitment after to Shamari Earls’ decommitment. Starr is 5-foot-11 and has great technical skills already with the ability to compete every rep. Starr would be a huge addition for this class to help shore up depth in the secondary for next year.

CJ Wiley

CJ Wiley is ranked as a four-star on On3.com. Wiley is an in-state blue-chip wide receiver prospect. A potential commitment from Wiley will complement the quick Georgia receiver commit Tayln Taylor, who is looked at by major recruiting sites as a difference-maker.

Wiley has always been on top of the Georgia’s list regardless of his former commitment to Florida State. Wiley is well on his way to another 1,000 yard season for Milton High School who is looking to repeat as 7A champions.

Wiley’s play style as a big body receiver is something that the Bulldogs receiver room has not seen much of since Lawrence Cager left. With a commitment from Wiley the future for the receiver position for the Bulldogs would be looking bright. Texas A&M is another team to watch in Wiley’s recruitment.

Justus Terry

Justus Terry is looked at as a five-star across all recruiting platforms. Terry has been on the Bulldogs radar since committing in 2023. Terry since then has decommitted from Georgia to USC to decommitting from USC.

He is one of two uncommitted five-stars left in this recruiting cycle, so he is a huge priority for Georgia. Terry could play alongside blue chip defensive line prospect Elijah Griffin if he commits back to the Bulldogs.

Terry’s commitment could bring back the flashes of the dominant defensive line in 2021 and 2022 season. Terry is disruptor from anywhere along the defensive line and has versatility that we have not seen since Jalen Carter. Terry creates havoc at high rate in opposing team’s backfield and has the capability to create a day one impact.

Georgia trying to flip 4-star Auburn CB commit

Georgia football trying to flip four-star Auburn CB commit after predictions come in for UGA to lose a commitment

The Georgia Bulldogs are trying flip four-star Auburn Tigers cornerback commitment Donovan Starr. Starr is a member of the class of 2025 and has been committed to Auburn since early June.

The 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback plays high school football for Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee. Starr is the top ranked recruit in Tennessee and the No. 129 recruit in the nation, per 247Sports. Starr is the No. 16 cornerback recruit in the country.

How is Georgia trying to flip Starr? Well, the Bulldogs recently offered a scholarship to Starr very late in the class of 2025 recruiting process. Starr appeals to Georgia for several reasons.

First of all, Starr is an excellent athlete. He recently posted a blazing fast GPS speed of 22.7 miles per hour. Speed like that is something Georgia head coach Kirby Smart loves.

Additionally, Georgia could lose four-star cornerback commitment Shamari Earls, who is projected to flip to Michigan. If Earls decommits, then Georgia will be down to just one cornerback commitment in four-star Jontae Gilbert. Regardless of Earls’ decision, Georgia may want to sign more than two cornerbacks in the 2025 cycle.

Alvin Henderson’s pledge to Auburn among top commitments of the week

Henderson’s decision to come “home” has boosted Auburn’s stock in this year’s recruiting rankings.

Auburn football received a pleasant surprise last week.

After missing out on four-star running back [autotag]Alvin Henderson[/autotag] in April to Penn State, Auburn found a way to reel him back in and flip his commitment. Henderson became Auburn’s fifth 2025 commitment of June last Friday, and arguably the most notable.

On3 dropped their selections for last week’s top commitments from across the country, and included Henderson’s pledge to Auburn on the list. Henderson’s flip from Penn State to Auburn was one that On3’s Collin Ginnan saw happening.

Alvin Henderson committed to Penn State on April 11 despite Auburn being a longtime favorite in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. On Friday, the Tigers flipped Henderson back to the home-state team.

Henderson shared his reasoning for the swap, saying that he feels Auburn is “home.”

“Auburn is home,” Henderson told On3 in a recent interview. “I really appreciate Penn State and I love it up there and their coaches, but Auburn is home. It always has been.”

Henderson’s commitment bumped Auburn to No. 4 in 247Sports’ 2025 recruiting rankings, which is a six-spot increase from their No. 10 ranking to begin the month of June. Henderson joined four-star OT [autotag]Broderick Shull[/autotag], four-star safety [autotag]Eric Winters[/autotag], and four-star CB [autotag]Donovan Starr[/autotag] by committing to Auburn this month.

Auburn lands commitment from four-star CB Donovan Starr

Four-star CB Donovan Starr commits to Auburn just hours after leaving his official visit.

The Auburn football program is continually trying to make its mark on the recruiting trail and make itself known across the nation. It has been successful thus far, and continues to be on a good track with many big official visits in the past few days.

In fact, the official visits have gone so well that the Tigers landed a commitment from cornerback [autotag]Donovan Starr[/autotag] out of Brentwood, Tennessee just mere hours after he left from his official visit to the Plains on Thursday.

Starr made his visit to Auburn from Tuesday to Thursday and came up with his decision to commit on the car ride home. He picked the Tigers over Missouri, Clemson, Tennessee and Illinois.

The 5-11, 175-pound is ranked as the No. 385 player in the nation and the No. 36 cornerback in the 2025 class according to the On3 industry ranking. He is also the No. 12 player in the state of Tennessee.

Starr is the third cornerback commit for the Tigers’ 2025 cycle. He joins four-star [autotag]Devin Williams[/autotag] and three-star [autotag]Dante Core[/autotag] in that portion of the secondary.

He was recruited heavily by cornerbacks coach [autotag]Wesley McGriff[/autotag] and defensive coordinator [autotag]DJ Durkin[/autotag] throughout his recruiting process, which was a big reason why he chose Auburn.

The Tigers’ 2025 group currently stands at No. 10 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC, now at 12 commits for the class and looking to land more within the coming weeks.

Wisconsin offers three-star cornerback from Tennessee

Wisconsin offers three-star cornerback from Tennessee

The Badgers offered Donovan Starr, a three-star class of 2025 cornerback from Brentwood, Tennessee, on Wednesday. The 6-foot, 170-pound athlete still has one more year of school at Ravenwood High School before he’ll look to make the leap to the collegiate level.

Starr has now received 19 Division 1 offers, while Wisconsin is the first program within the Big Ten to extend him an offer. The cornerback will likely garner more offers down the road and if he impresses in his senior season, many more schools in the Badgers conference will show interest.

Three-star defensive lineman Hank Weber, who is from Brentwood, TN, as well, is a member of the Badgers’ class of 2024 arriving in the fall.
