Denzel Valentine has found himself bouncing around teams in the latter stages of his career. Now, Valentine is showcasing his talents for the Maine Celtics, the G-league affiliate of the Boston Celtics. An opportunity in the G-league will allow Valentine to reinvent himself, along with getting a new found confidence in order to take the step back into the NBA, where he has spent the last 5 seasons.
In Maine’s Tuesday night game, Valentine showed off his playmaking ability, making an insane no-look pass. You can watch it here:
Denzel Valentine had some strong words about Marcus Bingham Jr.’s minutes and praising his performance
Denzel Valentine took to Twitter to give praise to Marcus Bingham Jr., who recently broke Xavier Tillman’s record for most blocks in MSU program history. While giving praise, Valentine made a comment that is in the minds of many MSU fans.
“Marcus Bingham is MSU’s all time leader in blocks averaging just 11.8 minutes per game. He impacted the game like that in little time. Just think if he would of averaged even 20 minutes,” Valentine said in his tweet.
Playing time has always been a question MSU fans have had of Marcus Bingham Jr., and something they wish they saw more of.
Valentine’s tweet went on, and he made a comment praising Bingham and what doing so much in such little time shows us all.
“That goes to show you he’s easily a NBA player!!” Valentine stated.

The newest addition to the Maine Celtics is already a major contributor to the team.
It has not been long since the Maine Celtics signed former Utah Jazz wing Denzel Valentine to their roster as a player, but the Michigan State product is already making his mark with the Celtics’ G League developmental affiliate.
In a recent contest played against the Fort Wayne (Indiana) Mad Ants — the developmental affiliate for the Indiana Pacers, Valentine put up 23 points, 17 rebounds, and 8 assists while shooting 6-of-14 from the field, a sizzling 5-of-10 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line in 28 minutes of playing time for Maine off of the bench.
While he could be picked up by any team in the league, it’s worth keeping an eye on the former No. 14 pick as a potential low-cost, end-of-bench option for the Celtics should the team need cheap help after making trade deadline moves to consolidate talent.

NBA veteran Denzel Valentine will sign a G League deal with the Maine Celtics.
The Boston Celtics will add an NBA veteran to their G League roster as a guy who could potentially help the big team at some point in the future. It is always good to have veterans who understand how the league works around as guys to count on.
Per Jay King of The Athletic, the Celtics are bringing in 5-year veteran Denzel Valentine to sign with their G League affiliate, the Maine Celtics. Valentine has played in 24 games in the 2021-22 season split between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Utah Jazz and he averaged 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds while shooting 40.4% from deep.

Valentine spent his first four seasons with the Chicago Bulls and he missed the entire 2018-19 season due to reconstructive ankle surgery. That then led to a tough 2019-20 season as he was unable to get out of then-coach Jim Boylen’s dog house. He now gets another opportunity with the Celtics to get his career on track again.
Denzel Valentine hasn’t had the career some may have hoped after leaving Michigan State as one of the legends of the program, but he has strung together a solid NBA career, where he spent four seasons with the Chicago Bulls and part of this season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
On Monday, the Utah Jazz confirmed that they will be the next stop for Valentine in his career, where they will be signing him to a 10-day contract under the NBA’s COVID-related hardship exception.
Los Angeles will receive 28-year-old forward Denzel Valentine in return, but Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports the Lakers plan to waive his partially guaranteed deal.
That means the Lakers would open a roster spot and could use it to ink Stanley Johnson to a deal after he impressed in his 10-day stint.
Valentine has appeared in 22 games this season and has averaged 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.3 minutes per game.
Per Wojnarowski, Rondo is amped to play more minutes with the Cavaliers because he wasn’t in the Lakers’ rotation:
Rondo is eager for the chance to play a bigger role with an ascending Cavaliers team in the absence of Ricky Rubio, sources said. He has been positive on the deal since it was presented to him as an option Thursday.
