Who are three players the Philadelphia 76ers could target for trades?

Here are three players the Philadelphia 76ers could look at in terms of possible trade options.

The Philadelphia 76ers have begun to turn things around and move forward in a positive direction as they have won four games in a row to begin a 7-game homestand. The Sixers are beginning to move up in the standings, but there is always the possibility of change.

Especially, with Daryl Morey running the show.

Therefore, there are always players out there who the Sixers could look into in order to help the roster. Maybe they could use another two-way guy or somebody who can help the bench unit to help the team grow.

Bleacher Report came up with three targets that the Sixers could look at before the Feb. 9 trade deadline:

New mock trade has Sixers acquiring Jonathan Isaac from Magic in a deal

A new mock trade has the Philadelphia 76ers acquiring Jonathan Isaac from the Orlando Magic in a deal.

The Philadelphia 76ers are always one of those teams to watch when it comes to possible trades and transactions.

Led by president Daryl Morey, the Sixers will always be involved in trade rumors. With the team off to a 12-11 start, not exactly the record most expected, one has to wonder if Morey will make some type of move in the weeks ahead.

A mock trade put together by Mike O’Connor of the “Rights to Ricky Sanchez” podcast has the Sixers making a deal with the Orlando Magic involving Jonathan Isaac, who hasn’t played since the bubble due to injuries. Considering Philadelphia could use more players capable of contributing at both ends, the possible addition of Isaac would be intriguing.

Former Michigan State basketball star Gary Harris suffers knee injury

Gary Harris has suffered a knee injury that will keep him out of action for a while

Gary Harris was a star during his time at Michigan State, being a key component to Tom Izzo’s program for his two years with the team. Since then, Harris has carved out a nice NBA career for himself with the Denver Nuggets and now the Orlando Magic.

Unfortunately, Harris’s ninth year in the league is going to start with a hiccup. It has been reported that Harris has suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee. His timetable for a return is not yet known.

Gary Harris agrees to two-year contract extension with the Orlando Magic

Gary Harris agrees to two-year contract extension with the Orlando Magic

Gary Harris has carved out a nice NBA career, somewhat under the radar. At 27 years old, Harris has signed a two-year, $26-million contract extension to stay with the Orlando Magic.

Harris was a coveted free agent this offseason after averaging 11.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 38.4-percent from three. Many thought Harris could get poached by a contender since he has become one of the more reliable two-way, role-playing wings in the league, but the Magic were intent on keeping him around to provide veteran leadership, defense and shooting to a young team.

Sixers free agency: 3 reasons why Gary Harris would be a perfect fit

Here are three reasons why Gary Harris would be a perfect fit for the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency.

While the Philadelphia 76ers have to focus on the NBA draft first which is on June 23, free agency in the NBA will begin shortly thereafter. There are some helpful players on the free-agent market who will help Joel Embiid and James Harden right away as they continue on their title chase.

At the moment, the Sixers have the $6.4 million taxpayer mid-level exception to use, but they could open the full $10.3 million mid-level exception if they waive Danny Green, who will miss a good portion of the 2022-23 season.

Therefore, president Daryl Morey and co. will have to look for cheap options that will fit their roster. Sixers Wire has already listed five options who will fit in free agency, but it’s time for some deep dives starting with Gary Harris:

5 realistic free agents Sixers should take a look at in 2022 offseason

Here are 5 free agents the Philadelphia 76ers should take a look at as they get into the 2022 offseason.

As the Philadelphia 76ers head into the draft and free agency portion of the offseason, there are some issues that have to be addressed with the roster. One is the lack of a “dawg” on the roster, which is something Joel Embiid wants addressed while the Sixers also need a 3-and-D player.

At the moment, the Sixers have the $6.4 million taxpayer mid-level exception to use, but they could open the full $10.3 million mid-level exception if they waive Danny Green, who will miss a good portion of the 2022-23 season.

Now, Philadelphia could clear more salary by dumping Furkan Korkmaz, Matisse Thybulle and Georges Niang. That would allow them to go after the bigger fish in the free agency pond, but they haven’t done so yet. So this list will be operating under the above parameters.

Here are five free agents who would fit the Sixers’ needs:

NBA buyout market: 5 names to watch

The NBA buyout market is full of some very intriguing players. Who might be available?

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean teams are done making meaningful additions. Rosters could still change in a big way ahead of the playoffs thanks to the NBA buyout market. There’s a number of intriguing players who may negotiate contract buyouts with their current squads in the coming weeks. From there, they would be able to join any team with an open roster spot.

Whether it’s PJ Brown and the 2008 Celtics or Reggie Jackson and last year’s Clippers team, adding a player via the buyout market can make a major impact. Veteran players often look to jump ship to contenders as winter turns to spring and postseason comes into view. Expect the Lakers and Heat to be players here. Ditto the Sixers and Nets. Any team with a shot at a title will think long and hard about making a meaningful addition if it can.

Check out some of the names that could be on the move and headline the 2022 NBA buyout market:
