UGA football transfer wide receiver scores his first career college touchdown with the Purdue Boilermakers

Georgia Bulldogs transfer wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette in Week 1 of the 2024 college football season. Morrissette hauled in two catches for 27 yards and a touchdown in the Purdue Boilermakers’ 49-0 win over Indiana State.

Purdue has an off week in Week 2 before playing Notre Dame the following week. Morrissette had just four career catches for 34 yards entering the 2024 college football season. Morrissette, a former four-star recruit, is one of three former Bulldogs on the Boilermakers.

Former Georgia outside linebacker CJ Madden recorded two tackles in Purdue’s win. Former Georgia wide receiver CJ Smith did no record any statistics.

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette, a former four-star wide receiver in the class of 2022, announced he is transferring to the Purdue Boilermakers. Morrissette is one of several former Bulldogs to transfer to Purdue this offseason.

Morrissette played high school football for North Cobb in Kennesaw, Georgia. He played in three games for the Bulldogs in 2023. The former top recruit participated in 11 games in 2022 and recorded five touches for 42 total yards.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound wide receiver is one of several Georgia wide receivers to transfer this offseason.

Georgia has aggressively added transfer receivers this offseason. Thus far, Georgia has three incoming transfers wide receivers: Miami transfer Colbie Young,Vanderbilt transfer London Humphreys and USC transfer Michael Jackson III. Georgia has had more than 20 players enter the transfer portal this offseason.

Morrissette played high school football for North Cobb in Kennesaw, Georgia. He played in three games for the Bulldogs in 2023. The former top recruit participated in 11 games in 2022 and recorded five touches for 42 total yards.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound wide receiver joins numerous Bulldogs in the transfer portal. Georgia has seen several wide receivers enter the transfer portal. However, Georgia added Miami transfer wide receiver Colbie Young and Vanderbilt transfer wide receiver London Humphreys. Georgia has 20 players in the transfer portal.

The Bulldogs added the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2024 recruiting cycle, but Kirby Smart and company are seeing a great many talented players leave via the transfer portal.

De’Nylon Morrissette: Signed

De’Nylon Morrissette, a 4-star wide receiver in the class of 2022, has signed his national letter of intent and is officially a Georgia Bulldog.

Morrissette played high school football for North Cobb in Kennesaw, Georgia, this past season. He previously played for Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia, and for St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland.

In May, Morrissette committed to Georgia over Alabama, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Oregon, South Carolina, Florida and USC.

At 6-foot-1 inch and 200 pounds, Morrissette has solid size. Morrissette is considered the No. 233 overall player in the nation and the No. 38 ranked wide receiver according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

The Georgia Bulldogs secured their 13th commitment in the class of 2022 from four-star wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette.

The Georgia Bulldogs continue to add to their elite recruiting class of 2022. Kirby Smart and the Dawgs secured their 13th commitment in the class from four-star wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette.

Georgia has the No. 1-rated class of 2022. Morrissette is Georgia’s first pure wide receiver to make a commitment.

Morrissette will play high school football for North Cobb in Kennesaw, Georgia, this season. He previously played for Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia, and for St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland.

Morrissette has connections to several players on Georgia’s roster and played alongside Marquis Groves-Killebrew at Brookwood. He’s an outstanding receiver after the catch and has the ability to compete for playing time as a true freshman.
