Jadeveon Clowney, Denzel Ward still not back at practice

The Browns were again missing five players, with two names standing out among the rest

The Thursday injury report has dropped for the Cleveland Browns, and they were once again with five players. Defensive end Myles Garrett and tackle Jack Conklin were given days of rest, while the Browns were also without offensive lineman Joe Haeg, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, and cornerback Denzel Ward. Both Clowney and Ward have now missed practices on back-to-back days.

There is reason to think the Browns are giving Clowney time between games to rest an ankle that is still bothering him, but Denzel Ward missing practice again is not a great sign. As Ward continues to navigate the concussion protocol, the optimism of Ward playing Sunday against the New England Patriots is shrinking.

Browns vs. Chargers injury report drops, nobody is ruled out

The Friday injury report has dropped for the Browns vs. Chargers, and it is shaping up in Cleveland’s direction.

The Friday injury report has dropped for both the Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Chargers, and it is shaping up in Cleveland’s direction. As it stands, not a single active Browns player has been ruled out for Sunday, with only defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (who returned to practice today) and defensive tackle Taven Bryan listed as questionable.

The Chargers, however, are not quite as healthy as wide receiver Keenan Allen has been ruled out. Kicker Dustin Hopkins and wide receiver Josh Palmer have both been slapped with a questionable label as well. On paper, this game is shaping up to be a close battle.

The game, however, will not be played on paper as the Browns look to get back above .500.

Jadeveon Clowney returns to practice with Chargers game in sight

The Browns might get a big boost against the Chargers as Jadeveon Clowney has returned to practice.

The Cleveland Browns continue to get healthier and healthier as the Los Angeles Chargers get set to travel to FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday. As their injury list gets less concerning, their biggest question mark for this week has also returned to practice as Jadeveon Clowney is once again in uniform. He spoke to the media yesterday and reiterated how unpleasant it has been to watch from afar. And now he rejoins his teammates.

The Browns need all the help they can get along their defensive interior after getting gashed on the ground against the Falcons. Returning to full health plus trying out a defensive tackle or two has been on the menu for the Browns this week as they look to take down the Chargers.

See for yourself as Clowney is back on the practice field with his teammates.

Browns release injury report with Chargers three days away

The Cleveland Browns are looking much healthier than they did a week ago.

The Cleveland Browns have a long injury list, but only one player missed practice on Thursday due to injuries. The veterans who were given a rest day on Wednesday all returned, and it looks like the Browns will take on the Los Angeles Chargers with a much healthier roster than they fielded a week ago.

The biggest sore thumb on the injury report continues to be Jadeveon Clowney, who has yet to return to practice. He has missed the last two games, and it seems likely he will make this weekend his third straight game off of the field. Here is to hoping he proves everyone wrong.

Right tackle Jack Conklin was the only other player who did not practice, but he was given a scheduled rest day.

Jadeveon Clowney not ruling himself out: ‘I don’t have fun when I’m hurt’

Jadeveon Clowney wants to get back out there for the Browns.

It is safe to say that pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney wants to be back out there with his teammates and for the Cleveland Browns. Clowney has stated that he plans to be back up soon, but did not give a timetable for his return. We do know, however, that he has not ruled out playing this week as the Browns look to avenge their loss from a year ago against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Clowney spoke to the media today, and brought to light some of the stuff he is working through and where he is at in the process. Each video is brought to you by Fred Greetham of The OBR.

Browns list 5 players on initial injury report for Chargers week

This week is shaping up to be a much healthier one for the Browns.

While seeing five starters on the injury report today feels a bit daunting, it really is not too concerning at all. Joel Bitonio, Harrison Bryant, Jadeveon Clowney, Amari Cooper, and David Njoku are all not practicing today, but only one has a continued concern about their availability this Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Bitonio, Cooper, and Njoku are all out of practice today on scheduled rest days, while Bryant is listed with an illness. The only major concern continues to be the ankle of Clowney, whose status for Sunday is still in the air after missing the past two games as well. The other good news is that Myles Garrett has returned to practice for the Browns and is not on the injury report.

This week’s game is shaping up to be a much healthier outing than last week was against the Atlanta Falcons.

Myles Garrett not on injury report, back to practice as Chargers approach

One big name was missing from today’s injury report.

Myles Garrett has returned to practice for the Cleveland Browns as they get ready for the Los Angeles Chargers. In fact, his name is no longer even on the injury list. This is a huge step towards playing after he missed the game against the Atlanta Falcons due to a car accident just over a week ago.

Should he be able to play, Garrett will get his second rookie offensive tackle in sixth rounder Jamaree Salyer. He gave Ikem Ekwonu a swift “welcome to the league” moment in Cleveland’s Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers, and will be looking to do the same against Salyer should he be fully healthy.

Browns vs. Bengals final injury report: 7 Browns questionable for Week 18

Seven Browns players are questionable for Sunday’s finale, including five players in the secondary

It’s likely to be a busy afternoon for the broadcast crews for Sunday’s regular season finale between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. Given the questionable status of several key players and how many regulars from the first meeting will not be playing, it might be a good idea to have a roster at the ready.

The Browns did not rule any players out from the active roster due to injury, but seven players are officially designated as questionable on the team’s final injury report. That list includes cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams, as well as tight end David Njoku.

Players listed as questionable by the Browns coaching staff:

  • S Ronnie Harrison (ankle)
  • CB Troy Hill (knee)
  • RB Kareem Hunt (ankle)
  • S John Johnson (hamstring)
  • TE David Njoku (shoulder)
  • CB Denzel Ward (groin)
  • CB Greedy Williams (shoulder)

The list does not include Baker Mayfield. The Browns ended their starting quarterback’s season officially this week, placing Mayfield on injured reserve with his shoulder and knee issues.

Final Browns injury report for Week 15: Wyatt Teller OUT

Teller and Andrew Sendejo are out while 5 others are questionable

The Cleveland Browns will be without their top run-blocking offensive lineman when they take the field in New York in Week 15. Starting right guard Wyatt Teller has been ruled out of the Browns game against the Giants with an ankle injury.

Teller is one of two Browns starters sidelined on the final injury report of the week. Safety Andrew Sendejo will also miss the game with a concussion. Chris Hubbard will fill in once again for Teller, while Sheldrick Redwine will get the starting nod for Sendejo.

On a more positive front, cornerback Denzel Ward (calf) is questionable for the game. He has missed the last three games and the secondary could sorely use Ward’s presence in New York. Fellow CB Kevin Johnson (groin), TE Austin Hooper (neck), TE David Njoku (knee) and WR KhaDarel Hodge (hamstring) are also all listed as questionable for the game.

Coach Kevin Stefanski is hopeful Ward can play. Njoku’s injury cropped up late in the week but his limitations at practice were deemed precautionary by Stefanski in his Friday press briefing.

Final Browns injury report: Denzel Ward and KhaDarel Hodge OUT

Myles Garrett will play but losing Hodge hurts at WR

Friday’s final injury report from the Cleveland Browns in advance of Sunday’s big AFC matchup with the Tennessee Titans reveals the Browns will be shorthanded at wideout.

The Browns will be without two wide receivers for the trip to Tennessee. KhaDarel Hodge has been ruled out with a hamstring injury and Tayway Taylor is out with a neck issue. Hodge injured the hamstring running a route in Thursday’s practice, per coach Kevin Stefanski in his Friday media session. It’s not the same hamstring that kept Hodge on injured reserve earlier this season, Stefanski also indicated.

With two wideouts ruled out with injuries, expect Derrick Willies to be elevated from the practice squad for the game. The Browns have just three healthy wideouts: Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins and rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones.

Cornerback Denzel Ward will miss his second straight game with a calf strain. He did not practice all week and Ward was not expected to play.

All the Browns activated during the week from the reserve/COVID-19 list, including starters Myles Garrett and Andu Janovich, will play Sunday.
