Predicting each Big Ten starting quarterback for 2022

Predicting every Big Ten starting quarterback in 2022

Quarterback is the most premium position on the football field, there is no questioning that. Historically, the Big Ten has been known for having some of the best quarterbacks in the nation, the same can be said for the 2022 season.

In the new era of college football, roster turnover is paramount, and the transfer portal is being used to shuffle rosters all over the country. The same goes for the quarterback position, and there are going to be some new faces signal-calling in the Big Ten in 2022.

Check out my prediction for each Big Ten teams’ projected starting quarterback in 2022:

Experts predict who will win the 2021 Heisman Trophy

Who do you have winning the 2021 Heisman Trophy?

The 2021 Heisman Trophy will be presented tonight to either Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, Michigan defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson, Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett  or Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Last year, Crimson Tide wide receiver DeVonta Smith won the coveted-award, which gave Alabama its third Heisman winner.

Young has been a young leader and has displayed consistent leadership and poise, Hutchinson has been an all-around dominant defensive figure in college football, Pickett shocked the nation with his arm strength and athletic ability and Stroud opened the season slow, but rapidly picked up steam and became one of the top fresh faces in the game.

Some experts have made their predictions before tonight’s ceremony.

Bryce Young not focused on the Heisman, says team is honed in on Cincinnati

Bryce Young is in New York, but his mind is on Cincy.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is currently in New York, along with Michigan defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson and Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud. One of those three players will be named the 2021 Heisman Trophy recipient, which recognizes the most outstanding player in college football.

Though Young is the favorite to win the award, he claims that his mindset is all-in on Cincinnati.

When speaking to the media yesterday in New York about the Heisman Ceremony, Young only spoke about what’s on the minds of all the Crimson Tide players: Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Bryce Young and the Crimson Tide throughout the College Football Playoff.

2021 Heisman Finalists Announced

Alabama QB Bryce Young is going to win the 2021 Heisman Trophy, and if he doesn’t it might be the biggest upset in the history of the award – at least, that seems to be the case if you go by the social media buzz.

The sophomore threw 43 touchdown passes with just four picks, ran for three touchdowns, led the team on the must-have 97-yard touchdown drive to force overtime in the win over Auburn, and then he smoked Georgia’s No. 1 defense for 421 yards and three touchdowns in the SEC Championship victory to earn the the Tide the top seed in the College Football Playoff.

So assuming he’s going to win, who’ll finish No. 2?

Young is obviously one of the four Heisman finalists, and here are the other three (in alphabetical order)

DE Aidan Hutchinson, Michigan

Why Aidan Hutchinson Will Finish 2nd For The Heisman: The heart-and-soul leader and tone-setter for the Michigan team that finally got over the hump in the Jim Harbaugh era, Hutchinson came up with 58 tackles, 14 sacks, and 15.5 tackles for loss.

He showed up large in some of the biggest games when everyone was watching, coming up with three sacks against Penn State, three more against Ohio State, and he even got one in the Big Ten Championship win over Iowa.

Why Aidan Hutchinson Won’t Finish 2nd For The Heisman: Alabama’s Will Anderson was the nation’s best pass rusher this season and was probably – along with a few Georgia stars in the mix – the best defensive player in college football.

Was Hutchinson 2019 Chase Young? Not really, but he was the signature star on a team that was very, very close to being the College Football Playoff No. 1 .

Alabama QB Bryce Young named 2021 Heisman Finalist

Bryce Young will be heading to New York and may comeback with some highly-coveted hardware!

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young will be traveling to New York this Saturday for the 2021 Heisman Trophy ceremony.

Young will be joined by three other college football stars: Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett.

In his first season as a starter, Young, a sophomore, has a completion percentage of 68% for 4,322 yards, 43 passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns and only four interceptions.

Young will look to be Alabama’s fourth Heisman recipient and the second consecutive winner in Tuscaloosa, as wide receiver DeVonta Smith won the coveted award last season.

It is noted that Alabama linebacker Will Anderson jr. was not named a finalist, which has certainly caused quite a stir among fans, as they believe he deserved the recognition.

The ceremony will take place this Saturday.

5 reasons why Bryce Young should win the Heisman Trophy

Our very own Bryce Young has a good shot to bring another Heisman to Tuscaloosa!

Alabama has had a lot of good quarterbacks in just a few short years, including Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts and Mac Jones. This year, it appears the Crimson Tide has another elite signal-caller behind center.

Throughout the season, sophomore QB Bryce Young has been in the conversation when it comes to the Heisman Trophy. He has been considered the favorite since the win against Ole Miss and possibly remains in that position.

When you look at the other options, it’s hard to imagine anybody that’s better at quarterback than Young. It can be argued that a defensive player (Will Anderson, anyone?) could get the coveted award this year, but it’s not likely, as it hasn’t happened since Charles Woodson in 1997 beat out Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning.

It’s very likely that a QB wins the award this year and the most likely options are Young, Pitt QB Kenny Pickett and Ohio State QB CJ Stroud.

Following are a few reasons why I believe Bryce Young should be the next Heisman Trophy winner.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are dominating the Michigan State Spartans and most of it has come through the air as most of us expected. Garrett Wilson is also playing a huge role in the demolishing of the Spartans as he currently has seven receptions for 126 yards and two touchdowns, which are impressive numbers and makes it even more shocking when you realize that he is the third leading receiver on the day.

C.J. Stroud is making a valiant case for the Heisman Trophy as he has completed 29 of 31 passing attempts for 393 yards and six touchdowns. Check out their latest touchdown connection below:

The Ohio State Buckeyes are destroying the Michigan State Spartans, 49-0 and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. Going into the game it was no secret that the Spartans had the nation’s worst pass defense and the Buckeyes clearly had every intention of making this the backbone for their game plan and it has worked.

Mel Tucker might want to sign that extension at half-time, because anyone with eyes can see that these Spartans are fraudulent, but at the same time the Buckeyes we have seen the last two weeks are not the same Buckeyes that lost to Oregon earlier in the season. The following are the three biggest takeaways from the first half.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are on the board again and you guessed it, it was another touchdown through the air. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is now joining in on the fun with the most recent five yard touchdown reception that now put the Buckeyes up 49-0.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has had another great showing as he is once again the leading receiver for Ohio State with eight receptions for 76 yards and a single touchdown. C.J. Stroud is continuing his Heisman caliber day completing 29 of 31 passing attempts for 393 yards and six touchdowns.

We aren’t even in the second half yet! Check out the touchdown by Smith-Njigba below.
