XFL’s Seattle Dragons reveal uniforms for inaugural season

The XFL’s Seattle Dragons revealed their uniform combinations on Tuesday, with roughly three months until their season is set to begin.

Fans finally know what the Seattle Dragons, the newest football team to start up in the Pacific Northwest, will be wearing when they take the field in February as part of the upstart XFL.

The team revealed their uniform combination at a dinner event on Tuesday evening, hosted by the team’s head coach and general manager, former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jim Zorn.

The uniform combines the classic green and blue coloring of nearly every Seattle sports team, while also adding an orange dragon-like flair that somewhat resembles the color scheme at the University of Miami.

The XFL will wear navy blue home jerseys, and white jerseys with orange numbers on the road.

“I love them,” former Seahawks receiver and current Dragon Kasen Williams told media members on Tuesday. “I think my favorite part is the helmet, most definitely. The whites flow. The home jerseys with the all blue, they go, too. I’m a big fan.”

The Dragons are set to begin their training camp this week, and will look to evaluate their roster and make changes before the season begins on February 8, 2020 – one week after the Super Bowl.

How to watch, stream and listen to Seahawks vs. Vikings on Monday

Here’s everything you need to know to catch the Week 13, Monday night action between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings.

The Seahawks return to primetime Monday night when they host the Minnesota Vikings at CenturyLink Field. Seattle is 18-2 in prime-time games at home since 2010 and 28-5-1 overall on the national stage.

“A really good match up and a big opportunity for us to go Monday night,” coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday. “We really like this team that we’re playing. They do so many things well. They’re well-rounded. They’re strong up front. They have experienced players everywhere. We recognize a bunch of these guys. We’ve played them for a number of years.”

Carroll spoke highly of the Seahawks opposing quarterback, Minnesota signal-caller Kirk Cousins, who is off to an impressive season.

“I think that the highlight probably is that Kirk Cousins is playing the best he’s ever played,” Carroll noted. “His numbers are great. Seventy percent completion. Really great ratings up at almost 115, all that kind of stuff. Mix in with their running game and the defense that they play and the quarterback play, they’re as hard as you can get to play against. It’s a good challenge for us. We need it. This will be a great one if we can get through it. Here we go again.”

Seahawks can remain unbeaten on the road with win in Philadelphia

The Seattle Seahawks are undefeated on the road at 5-0 this season and can extend that record against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks are known throughout the NFL for their daunting home-field advantage at CenturyLink Field. However, they have been less stellar as a road team in the Pete Carroll era. That has changed substantially this season, as the Seahawks are undefeated on the road with a 5-0 record in 2019. This is already one win away from the record for most road victories in franchise history, behind the 2013 season in which they finished 6-2 away from the friendly confines of CenturyLink Field.

Conversely, Seattle suffered their two losses at home against the Saints and  Ravens. Most of the Seahawks’ wins have been close shaves, but they keep finding ways to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. This is particularly evident on the road, as four of their five victories away from Seattle have been by one possession. At the end of the day, what matters is the fact that the Seahawks keep winning, not the method by which they achieve the victories.

The Seahawks (8-2) have a chance to keep their 2019 road record perfect when they face the Eagles (5-5) in Week 12. Seattle has performed well in the City of Brotherly Love, compiling a 4-0 record there over the past 14 years. This could work to the Seahawks’ advantage, especially considering the Eagles are coming off a devastating loss to the Patriots. The game against Philadelphia will take place on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field at 10:00 a.m. PT.
